I'll have another go tonight and see what else I can do if I get the chance. -
working on POP an POS material
nadcicle replied to Quentin Jarrell's topic in Direct Sound Solutions
Bordom over, last for the night as I got work in the morning. I'm sure there are ton's better artists out there as I was just throwing stuff together for ideas. Reason I keep the raised lettering is cause I feel that since you chose it on your dustcaps it should reflect on your logo as a whole one way or another. Even if it isn't the exact same I think it should be in there somehow. Just my 2 cents. -

Bordom has gotten the best of me. I'm not by any means good at this though. Just playing around for fun. -
Stereo integrity is the same maker and is meant for home theater as the parts are a lot softer. However, since you're going for below 40hz this might not be a bad thing. I am currently running 4 OA 18's in near the same size tuned to 31hz and it has a very wide bandwidth and sounds great. I also run strapped aq2200's and only turn it up for burps though so I can't say for daily really.

I think so since I thought there were only dual 1's and 2's. If you only ran 1 coil each accidentally i don't see a .25 load on accident. I do see .25 on dual 1's on purpose though. good call. .. so. 5 Hey, I gotta admit. That's a hell of a run for going single coil ham on the damn things with an Ns1!

I did, but did you accidentally do .5 or 2 ohm? Cause either way it's a crap ton of power for a single coil per sub.

Thanks Quentin. You should delete my post, sticky this, and lock it! -
ETHOS 15 PARAMETERS AND KLIPPEL GRAPHS
nadcicle replied to Quentin Jarrell's topic in Direct Sound Solutions
Hey Quentin, I'm designing an enclosure right now. Can you shoot me the specs or post them here so I can get some ideas of how I am going to do it? Thanks! -
Larger motor. I wanted the AA before I got the Crossfire. I blew my DC and I needed a sub quick so I got the Crossfire from a local guy. That is quite a bit larger. Nice upgrade!
-
Forgive me ignorance, but what are the biggest differences between the Xsv2's and the AA and what made you change to it?

Not sandwiched per say. Thing of it being exactly the same as pictured here with a plastic ring on top with a spider on top of that and glued at the joint collar. So it's technically the same with slightly more chance of glowing spiders cause you have more of them to flame on. Granted they're meant to be fire retarded, but the leads aren't molten resistant.

Had an old California that had leaky caps that was always fuzzy on 1 channel. Have a zed boss with a dirty pot that causes issues and required fenagling the thing to find a clean spot. There are a number of things to try on the amp. Running a ground to the rca shielding has worked for some on amps as well. Static really isn't the easiest to find. You'll find yourself tearing everything out and replacing to no avail in some cases.
-
Sadly, I could have repaired that before you ripped it out Then again it'd probably turn into a palm tree like Sencheezy's afterwards.

hmm.....that black and gray box looks very familiar I feel the same about those trophies lol

The rca wires and speaker wire is ran on the other side of the car as the power wire. . . .I can also hear it when the rca 's are not even hooked up. . . . Only place there close is behind the head unit where the rca wires and the head units power wire is near each other and right by the amps........ the amps are REALLY close to the rear batts though(not sure if that matters)...................... only thing I am thinking it could be (other than amps being messed up).. is amps to close to rear batts. Or because my grounds for the rear batts are just to the body of the car and not from front batt. I'd take out the body ground if you think it is done well enough as I personally push about 7k with body ground without any issues of static or anything. While it doesn't hurt to run a ground front to back I don't see that as the root of the issue just yet. Not personally familiar with the cz702, but if it has an option to turn off internal amplifier I would definitely do that as well. I have seen where even though no speakers are hooked up the internal amp draws power and causes a hum through rca's when turned at max level on some head units. What is the max volume of your HU and what are you turning it to when you start to hear the static? For that matter does anything have to be playing to hear the static or can you pause a song and still hear it?

You have no idea, he never puts the phone down!

When tracking down static I can honestly say it was one of the hardest things I did in my truck. I pulled out my rcas completely and tested with them free from underneath the carpet and noticed absolutely no static at all, but if I got remotely close to my power or ground points I could hear it. More so from the power than my ground, but it was there. I definitely suggest double checking how far or close your speaker wire runs and rcas are from sources of power. Good luck either way as I was pulling my hair out trying to find mine.

I will once again throw it out there that it is one hell of a bad weak point when mounted non inverse and inside of an enclosure with any kind of screws. In the event you do not have a screw driver/drill it could be too late and your car could be engulfed in flames if they are really getting that hot. Especially for some idiot doing phone book tricks just adding ignition to the already molten hot leads.. lol I love you Senchez!! -
DSS Tridents and Twisted Sounds S-10. Road to 166dBs
nadcicle replied to stevemead08's topic in Build Logs
Not quite, still held by Chris Hansford i believe. lol He had like a gazillion banks for his park and pound run. He strapped like 10 banks to each back seat plus what he already had in the back! I think ShiZZzon might have gotten a pic at world finals. this is the guy you talked about on the first page of the thread? Shizzzon said 16 banks.... Far from the most used. Hell the guy I bought most of these from still has a larger bank than this, after selling a bunch. The thing about cap banks is they are so light. You see guys at finals rigging up all their buddies and teammates banks into their cars for a run. It's hard to tell who actually owns what. Well they share amongst their teamates, but they were owned by him and there were definitely more than 16 for his final run. I'd say right at 30 or so all together. -

No not at all man. I made this post for two things. A, to prove the testament of the build quality of the driver. And the B, to hopefully have this tinsel lead issue addressed. I love this fucking sub man haha, and will always stand behind it. This i can agree with. I'd rather slinky a coil over being unsure if there is going to be a ball of flames behind me from glowing leads sparking all over the place on each bass note. -

You assume higher than rated power. It is quite possible that after rise his amp might be seeing more like 3.2ohms or so. I'm somewhat sure that i'd say there's ISN'T a full 5800rms going to this thing. I'd say if it did go overpowered that it wouldn't be by as much as you'd think. -

Those darn Korean amps... Amirite? Lol. Guess I will post mine too. Because apparently there are sooooo FEW of them out there that have blown this way. Dammit, I apologize as i didn't get a pic of it separated from the coil, but trust me when I say it definitely went the exact same way. Except mine wasn't an easy fix cause of the spacer.
