I don't see as huge of an issue on the weight of the driver as long as you mount it as far forward close to the hinges as possible. It's adding in and deadener and fiberglass that will ultimately add over weight that will get those hinges sagging over time. Especially since this is meant for demoing with the doors open all day. The more weight you can shift towards the front the better so you don't get them sagging. It'd be awesome to see a nice pvc piped port snaked through the rear of the door too!

I believe you're exaggerating the difference in subs catching fire with the tensile lead issue. There were a lot more people coming out saying they had issues with the leads melting than fires.

This bypasses and narrows down the source unit to make sure if it's your rca's or the headunit itself.

Check to make sure you didn't flip the switch for slave<-->master. It needs to be set to master if it isn't already.

Not the first I've heard of the component issues having problems. However, the guy kept blowing pretty much any component sets he was installing. Was a guy on SMD forums that kept blowing the crossovers and taking the tweeters with them each time I think it was. Wish I was of more help, but I can't remember what he said his issue ended up being. I've never met a passive crossover that i've liked since I don't have the ability to manually control it to my liking.

Sent my amp in and they received it Oct 1st. I got the same about they'll diagnose and let me know in a week. We'll I just got it back this past Friday if that tells you anything. They really aren't any more prepared now to handle business than a regular start up company. They are introducing new products and promoting all over the place, but have issues recently of answering anyone.

I'd tend to agree. The original concept behind the spaced spider was to reduce coil rocking. After testing there wasn't any so it was deemed unnecessary as far I knew to begin with. Add in that they recently switch to FHAL or whatever the 4 letter abbreviated word is for some F*&* Huge Ass Leads, and you can see that they wouldn't be compatible. I've heard an Sp4 with and without the spaced spider and there is no sound difference or output difference to be heard. I see it as no loss really.

That's sad news. I've been through a cracked intake manifold and a freeze out plug in my old lincoln. Luckily it just takes time to get this replaced and hopefully you'll be back up and going in no time.

Hard people to get a hold of. It really is one of those cases of it taking time to get an answer. Calling absolutely takes the longest. An email to Sales is about the quickest solution.

Just taking a guess, but wouldn't that change the weight of the entire way the thing moves? It looks worse than putting those weights around rims of tires on a car in this case since it's attached directly to the center, but I understand looks can be deceiving which is why I ask.

One does not simply talk about 4th orders lightly. I've seen 2:1 perform Ok, and I've seen 30:1 perform Ok. It's really a matter of testing like mad crazy if you've never done it before.
