Thanks guys! I'll order some sexy legs for it from PE when I get paid next lol. As for the woodgrain I just used some simple contact paper Took literally 10mins to apply.

This is a build for the 8" Bravox PXW subwoofer. The enclosure is 0.7cuft @ 30Hz after displacement. Power is 240watt plate amp. Finished!! What you guys think? I'm running it off a 240w plate amp and IT SOUNDS AMAZING. So clean and smooth. Fills my whole room and even rattles the walls. Did not expect this build to have such a good turn out. After displacement it is .7cuft tuned to 30Hz.

Its just laying on the floor as of now. I'm thinking of cuting out a half pipe from two blocks of wood to have it rest on.

12" SI Mag and IA Death Row PIC* comparison
solidcrowd replied to solidcrowd's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Unfortunetly I do not get to play with this one. I'm selling it $275 locally but that money is going right to car insurance :/ and Denim I didn't even see that sticky lol I'll repost in there soon. -
I recently picked up a 12" IA Death Row series for $80!! Unfortunetly I could not compare them sound-wise because the Death Row wouldn't fit in my enclosure's hole. SOO I figured I'd give you guys some pretty pictures to look at lol. The SI is a V1 Mag Claw w/ V3 softpart Recone, Enjoy! Vid of Mag off 240watt plate amp The Mag is heavier btw.

2 10" Ported, 2 12" Sealed, or 1 15" Ported?? - 2010 ICONS
solidcrowd replied to stockley1234's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
2 Icons would be more than enough. I had one and i could feel the port wind upfront in a sedan. Loved it. I couldn't imagine having 2 of those babies! lol. I'd do 2 10" Icons ported to 32hz. -
I was looking to get 8" or 10" (quantity 2) subs that would compare to my 12" SI Mag. As you know, caraudio is addicting and I'm always looking for new ideas. This happens to be my latest one. I was thinking 4 Bravox PXW 8" in 2.4cuft @ 33hz, but am not too sure. Then I was also thinking 2 used SA-8s. My third idea is two 10s. Max cuft = 2.7cuft net Power options = 500 @4ohm, 900 @2ohm, 1200 @1ohm. Budget = $150 I want to have the same or more SQ/Loudness as my 12" Mag or previous 12" SSA Icon. Might not be do-able, but would like to hear your guys input!

Any left? Quote for 1 shipped to 14224 and 2 shipped to 14224. Not sure how many I want. Thanks
-
Icon if you don't want to be a Fi nuthugger ... lol 2.2 @ 32hz slot port, or a 4" aero
-
Swagger, if you picked up the last 2, may I buy them off you in the future? Mine isn't coming until Tuesday, I could afford one. If mine sounds good, I would like to find 3 more an use them in my car.
-
I'll buy the last one for $40 shipped to 14224 lol. All I can do if I want to put these in my car is 1_on 500w @ 4ohm or 2_on 900w @ 2ohm . I think even if I set my gains conservatively that they will blow.

Few question before I finalized my Fi Q purchase!
solidcrowd replied to mlbman216's topic in Fi Products
From what I hear the Q does great in both sealed and ported enclosures. It won't be lacking in the lower end area. This is coming from a SSA Icon fanboy....just do THE da*mn thang lol -
If your doing aero's, I believe that shouldn't be a problem

I just bought a 8" Bravox Audio subwoofer (PXW8D-2). I have a 180-240rms plate amp that I will be using to power this. I was looking to build a sonotube enclosure or just a regular ported enclosure (don't matter to me). I just need to know what size enclosure (sealed and ported) would be best for this subwoofer in the home. Space is not a concern. If not a problem, I would like to know the optimal enclosure ported for 1 and 2 of these also. My problem is that the lowest my amp will wire down to is 500rms @ 4ohms. I would like to eventually try it in the car, or I might just have to find another one in the future. But back onto the main topic..It will be used for movies, but a little more for music. Here are the Parameters: Size (inches): 8" Z (ohms): 1.0 Xmax (mm): 7.6 Fo (Hz): 35 Bl (T.m): 5.1 Vas (liters): 25 Qms: 4.0 Qes: 0.45 Qts: 0.40 Mms (g): 52 SPL (dB/w/m): 86.0 Levc (mH): 0.42 Krm (mohms): 1.18 Kxm (mH): 21.0 Erm :0.82 Exm: 0.56 Freq. Resp. (Hz): 30-4500 Power (max/nom): 360/180 Thanks!

I should make threads in the wrong section in spite of u stefanhinote lol. But seriously I think I'm going to buy one for my home audio setup. It's in the checkout, just waiting to click confirm lol.
-
I'm wondering if I should pick up one for my home theater setup and throw it in a sonotube. Anyone have expierence with these and have used them yet? I'm wondering if the 8" would be sufficient for my room setup. I have ~240w to work with. Thanks! Quick Responses please lol
-
I don't have time if they'res only 3 left and don't want to give anybody any ideas lol
-
I DONT KNOW IF I SHOULD BUY!!!! lol Would 2 be better than 1 10" Fi SSD? 1.64cuft to work with
-
what program is that? Send the link please

Yea I just called the local shop, and they charge $30 n hour

Okay, So to find out what Hz my car peaks at, do I try out different test tones to see which one is the loudest in my car? If so, then what do I do from there? Say my car peaks at 37hz...do I tuned my port to 37hz? Reason asking is because I built a 2.5cuft. net @ 32hz enclosure with a 4" aeroport. I can take it out and cut it down for SPL. I just want to do it right since I only have one tube insert left. I'm aiming for SPL, not a fartbox. Thanks!
-
Okay so I cut my port to ~37hz. My subsonic filter is set to 29 when it was 32hz, Should I set it differently?
-
Your vehicle's resonate frequency is where it's loudest, a ported box is loudest a few db above port tuning. You try to have one help the other so you have turbo bass at a certain frequency. Jeezy - Air Force is around 40hz Thank you! Sorry I was unclear, but turbo bass is what I am looking for lol. So since that song is really loud in my car, Tune to 37hz or 43hz?
-
I was wondering how the resonant freq. relates to tuning of my enclosure. If there is any relation at all.
-
Basically I want to know why people look to see what feq. they're car peaks at and how that would be useful in my situation. For example, air force ones- by Jeezy gets really loud. So say I figure out what freq. that bassline plays at, could that be any use to mean as far as port tuning goes?
