The set i got for my wife sound amazing. Put them in Subaru Tribeca. I PERSONALLY haven't heard a better sounding set.

Cant speak to anything but the sound of them, and frankly it's amazing. Very warm and clear sound.

The ssa store offers box designs for decent price. Just have to be EXTREMELY patient.

Need a little help finalizing my sub & box choice

For the money, I'd roll ICON. ICON/XCON have excellent thermal design, so as long as your box is on point that power would be right in the wheelhouse. -
Need a little help finalizing my sub & box choice

I have ran my xcons ported and sealed and have been mind blown by how loud they are sealed. I think you would be impressed with a single 15 ICON, I hear they are as amazing and the xcons and I cant say enough about them. Super loud and super accurate. SSA makes amazing shit. -
I don't think he meant torn apart literally, I believe he just meant took apart to see whats inside. When he says "interesting way to go about it" he meant the company building the speaker, not you taking it apart. Also welcome to SSA.

Sounds like me, get a decent plan together then start thinking i can get a bigger speaker in, that turns to shoehorning 15's lol. I personally like the idea of a nice set of 10s with a healthy port and some good power, just my 2 cents tho. And welcome to SSA. -
Lol Welcome to SSA, did you check out the store? Happy browsing http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com/products/american-bass-hd-15-inch-1500w-rms-dvc-subwoofer.html

Id be suprised if that sub needs more than 1 cubic foot ported for airspace. Again, I'm a part time idiot and could be way off but I dont think so. -

https://www.amazon.com/CT-Sounds-T-300-1-Monoblock-Amplifier/dp/B01M69T35N/ref=sr_1_1?s=car&ie=UTF8&qid=1502825036&sr=1-1&keywords=mono+amp&refinements=p_36%3A7000-8000 This amp is rated at 180 watts rms which is fine, you ALWAYS start with your gain/bass boost all the way down and ONLY increase gain in small increments until getting the desired performance. Again that sub will not handle a ton of power nor abuse. BE GENTLE. To increase output I'd recommend a ported box over sealed. You need to look on magnet or investigate on google to find the exact model number of that sub so the recommend enclosures can be looked up and followed. https://www.amazon.com/BOSS-Audio-Amplifier-Installation-Wiring/dp/B000FKP7TY/ref=pd_bxgy_107_3?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B000FKP7TY&pd_rd_r=G59DH9XJ1AHBWCZ3AVR1&pd_rd_w=OPcqX&pd_rd_wg=dC7nf&psc=1&refRID=G59DH9XJ1AHBWCZ3AVR1 Done and done for less than $100 for decent amp and wires. I checked the SSA store, it didn't have anything quite as low as $80 that being said SSA is a fantastic brand/forum and we should support them when possible, that being said they do have this amp that is really good for the money if you can swing it. http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com/products/american-bass-ph1600.html Give SSA a chance in any way you can in the future. You will NOT be disappointed. -
Happy Birthday buddy!

Looks like the newer ones only hold 200 watts rms. I personally would start at 100 watts and be careful with anymore due to its age/wear. Disclaimer im far from any type of expert. Good luck and keep us posted. -
Lol life has a way of doing that. I understand bro, no worries

Vehicle :07 santa fe Location in the vehicle:cargo Space available (Length x Width x Height):22x45x20 Subwoofer make and model:xcon Subwoofer Size:15 Number of Subwoofers:2 Type of Port (Kerfed, Slot, Aero, etc.):slot What type of music do you like?:all Is your goal SPL or Everyday Music?:music Tuning Freq (Hz):34 Volume : Questions:i would like to give as mush air space as possible with those dimensins, also subs up port back, id like to do the port along the bottom of the box. Thanks again guys!

Could be a ton of different things. That being said if a sub is making any noise other than bass something is up. Leaks in box, bad port area etc. Someone with more experience can chime in but i wouldnt push it with that noise.

Thoughts on crossover
AXEHAMMER replied to AXEHAMMER's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Gotcha. Thanks M5 -
Just wonseeing if anyone had experience with or had heard thoughts on an Orion XTR-3 crossover

First-the enclosure specs for 15 inch xcons have a standard and optimal size. What are the key differences in the two? Also-I had to sell one of my amps to get through a hard time. My question is, powered by a fosgate t1500bdcp amp, should i run one sub ported at 2 ohm or both of them sealed at 1 ohm?
-
Got the box in and playing. I wired to 1 ohm. They sound great. Not as loud as i had hoped, but again they are sealed. Had to dial my gain way down as 1/3 gain was over driving the subs. I guess because the box ended up being only 2 cubes per sub?

Thats awesome bro, thanks so much! I look forward to getting it built and put in. You are always kind and willing to help, I cant thank you enough. Im excited to hear them! I do have a table saw and my dads mitre saw if necessary.
