1st of all welcome to SSA, its truly an awesome place... there are a LOT of knowledgeable ppl here, Fi products are awesome, you deff wont be disappointed in that sub... i would proll try and sell the nine.1 and get something better look into Sundown amps if you want to keep the factory h/u i suggest you get the rockford 3sixty.2 it integrates into your stock h/u, then you can add amps and subs just like you would for an aftermarket cd player... plus it has a ton of eq goodies

im looking for a nice 2 way active set to run, they are going to be powered by 2 Gladius w. BB the price range i would like to keep it all under 400 but willing to go a little bit higher maybe 500 even... im more sq oriented i love detail... i listen to mainly rock/ acoustics... but generally anything... i like strong detailed midbass and more of a mellow tweeter... this is going to be my first real DIY setup... im pretty much looking for a well rounded set that can handle all types of music... any suggestions would be helpful, ill probably browse madisound and list items that look good its going into a 2000 Acura Integra, im not sure of the mounting depth in the doors but im guessing i have 3-4" to work with maybe more http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...products_id=541 never used a textile dome before http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...products_id=823 http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...products_id=818 if you can list other speakers w/ their pros/ cons that would be really helpful in my decision

is there a way to i guess reduce the diameter of the flange? or will that mess up the speaker? if i did my math right its about 4inches in diameter...

ugh ran into some problems... i went out and too a look a all the possible areas i could mount the HDS tweets, but theres literally no room. theres no way possible it can go into the a pillar, maybe with a fiberglass enclosure it would look really bulky, then i took a look at my doors... i wanted to mount them behind the stock tweeter placement, but my door is oddly curved so i cant fit it in there... im just out of ideas any suggestions on what i should do... does anyone have pics of the HDS installed? ... id rather not do kick panels since i am fairly inexperienced in making them or is there any other small format tweet that would work well with the L18s?

im pretty excited to get started on this project... by the looks of today's check im gonna go w. the L18s hahaha ill be ordering he speakers later today then the waiting game begins... just received my new p880prs via fedex earlier today woot...

wish you lived closer so i can hear your setup... most ppl i know have BB, CC, cartoys, crap... so nothing close, i have a friend thats running some dls iridiums but thats about it

im sure i can mount a large format tweeter with some modifications... its either going into the stock tweeter location or in the A pillar... are the excel that much better? if so ill proll wait and save up for them i was also looking into scanspeak revs, but they are dam pricey...

how much are you wanting to spend on your sub and amp?

i dont get what u mean by ur not even considering a sq setup... sq setup HAVE the ability to play "loud"and drop down low... the whole i want to be louder then all the other kids at school is a silly mentality to have... that is just asking for ur system to get jacked... i run a single 10 in my car... and ppl who ride in my car are so surprised that its only 1 10 they swear it has to be 2 12's or something... its mostly the install... id rather have clear sounding system that stays clear when the volume is up vs a loud fart can... there such a misconception about sq systems... if i were u id deff do more research and really know what u want then start thinking about spending money...

lol no i meant i all i have to listen to know is my ipod and ear buds when im driving.... its going in to a 2000 acura integra the trunk is pretty decent i never have use for it unless i buy groceries but thats not very often... i think im still going to stay with the p880prs i love that deck very solid... yea im going to go active just a 2way setup the reason why i want a draconia is b/c my tweets dont draw that much power, but i guess 2 glads will give me headroom to upgrade later on down the road... i waiting to hear back from either denim or ssaudio about pricing for 2 glads and the new deck if its reasonable ill go ahead in order it...

yea i saw ur sig zedman i was about to pm u on how ur running ur comps off those gladiuses im guessing u have it passive on ur comps? the only thing that im a little nervous about is the headroom i would have cause the specs say 75w rms @ 4 ohms but i deff know they are underrated, but not sure on how much that would be think im just gonna say screw it n order them tomorrow or something and another p880prs proll cost me round $800ish for everything plus all the install hardware... im just totally bummed out, my ipod cant cut it for me... blah wish there was some1 in houston that would help me w/ the creativity part of the install... ha, ive been debating on whether i should do a false floor or not n cover it w. plexiglass or just a basic amp rack nothing too flashy... i should be building a new sub box tuned to 33hz by sunday

yea id rather do just the single draconia since its going in the back of my little Integra but it only measures about 12"x3' so its not to bad... my plan is to build a vertical amp rack housing 3 amps with about a 45 degree angle on the amp positions that way i save a little room anywho how would i wire the 2 gladius though? one component set per amp or tweet on one and mid on the second?

yea i just got back from cartoys it ended up being 540, at this point i deff dont mind it at all... dem beats all i can tell u is the sooner the better ull b when u get that alarm... im actually going 2 wait up 2nite n see if that bastard is gonna try again this time ill b ready 4 him... plus all my chit is out of my car so no worries well to all of u that have read this plz take every precaution so u dont end up in my situation: take anything of value out of ur car when u lock up! it can add up to major headache

i went up to the school bkstore n told them all about it... luckily my books are unique cause my lil sis split water on them and they have watermarks on certain areas of the books... gave the bkstore a detailed descriptions of all my stolen textbooks... and left my name n number in the case if they do turn it in for money ppl just need to grow up and get a job if they wanted something that bad... deff browsing ebay/ amazon meticulously

thnx for all the comments i just felt like venting... i just dropped almost 550 on a new alarm system... i live in the NE side of houston in the suburbs... i know when it comes down to it its just material possessions but to have it happen right outside my bedroom in the driveway is out right rediculous... not to send any negativity but crime rate in houston has skyrocketed since katrina... o well i also deff dont see why this guy felt the urge to steal my backpack and all of my text books... luckily this guy didnt vandalize my car well looking on the bright side i get to build semi half of a new system ha

i didnt see the need to get an alarm since i was going to get a new car plus i live in a nice area (suburbs) well what i thought to be a nice area... as for insurance i dont think its covered, guess the moral of the story is dont skimp on buying an alarm , and not to be naive ppl suck

i like sealed boxes to me they are the easiest to make and sound nice, if u want louder go ported there should be box specs for both sealed n ported in the Fi forums lemme know how u like it, im holding off on getting mine for another week or so too many bills that need to be paid

i had a 10w7 it was fun for awhile but i didnt like it, it had plenty of spl, but lacked the sq i wanted, deff over priced tho... the w6 imo sounds alot better and worth its price... look into sound splinter rl-p series awesome sub

if you want active, you need 2 channels for each set of drivers. can't wire the mids in paralel with the tweets on the same channel and expect the active crossover to magically separate the frequencies. x2 u proll were mis lead on other forums i highly doubt it was a 2 ch amp they were running most likely it was a 4ch... save urself the headache go passive n call it a day...
