AA Assassin 10" old version... solid sub its been my daily driver for a few years now and still works like a champ... : )

first off i know this thread is a little teaser w/o pics... i need to go buy a camera... pioneer p880prs ive own only one other pioneer deck which was the p8mp... a little old but the only pioneer that had the 4x60w internal amp and a 6.5 pre outs, before that i was a huge fan of alpine the 9813, 9833, 9855... all in all the pioneer p880prs completely blows everything ive owned out of the water... its extemely user friendly, the white OEL display is sharp and is clearly visible in day-light, its probably one of the cleanest h/u up to date in my opinion. and the eq is awesome... my only complaints are like most pioneers the face plate protrudes outward about a few cm and that theres a lack of a mute button on the deck... only mute is on the controller which in my car seems to get lost a lot hahah overall this h/u is very solid, has many tuning options, and sounds incredible Zed Audio Glads w/ BB x2 i was extemely excited when the ups man came and drop these babies off. after all the rave and reviews ive read... this amp truly lives up to its hype. conservatively rated at 75w x2 @ 4 ohms... i have to admit i was a little nervous at the power ratings but as soon as i installed them and played around a little all i can say is that they are definitively underrated. the build quality is impeccable, both the glads together weigh in about 35 lbs!!! one of the very 1st things i did was open one of them up to see the internals, let me tell you the pics off amp guts do not do it justice. i am a new found Zed fan, the SQ that you get for the price is amazing the only other amp that has impressed me this much was the old Art series from PPI... i have no complaints what so ever with this amp, just throughly satisfied : ) so much more i wanna say but its late and im tired haha long day... build log coming soon !

thought id try my hand at a ported box to see how i liked it... its tuned to 33hz or roughly around there hahaha it was my 1st ported box build... so dont critique me too harshly and i know its not carpeted... just doing it to see if i like ported or not ive ran those gladius for about a month or a little more and still love every minute of them spectacular amps!

thinking about going active
Mino replied to chubgo's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
you wont be disappointed by going active... one of the best decisions ive made so far... you have complete control over how you want your system to sound... im sure you will be able to run active w/o ne problems off this h/u... if worst comes to worse u can always sell it. try it and see what happens... hope this helps -
you wont need the passive xover since your going to be using the h/u's xover in an active setup

so i woke up in the middle of the night around 4am by my dad telling me my car got broken into... not the greatest feeling especially that early in the morning . walked outside door was cracked open, my car map light was on... as soon as i opened the door i noticed my h/u was gone, luckily my trunk does not open w/o the key, but the thief ended up taking one amp through my fold down seat... at this point im throughly pissed off so i called the cops and was told to call back at 6am... so lucky me i get to spend part of the day filing a stolen property report best part is the the duchebag not only stole my h/u and amp he took my backpack and all of my books... who the fudge steals someones school books and backpack wtf!!!!!! H/U and zapco 360.4 gone along with about $300ish worth of school books

turn the gain down? 150 isnt gonna give you a lot of options http://cgi.ebay.com/Polk-Audio-Momo-MMC650...1QQcmdZViewItem i heard these at a local shop b4 but they were asking way more... decent for 140 bucks
-
what exactly do you are you looking for just a nice set for 150 or under?
-

i have the old cdt ef-61 carbon fiber set... i paid 220 shipped... i was fairly impressed... good amount of midbass, my only complaint was that the highs seemed a little too soft even for silk tweeters, and the mounting depth, beefy little guys. overall i thought i got a pretty good deal for the price i liked them alot better then anything i heard at the local shops for 220... im sure u can find a nib EF-61CF set on ebay for what ur looking for... the newer stuff from cdt have not impressed me at all

x2 to be honest the SSD really doesnt need that much power to get it going i have 500w to mine and its plenty
-
one of my buddies has 2 bl fully loaded and to me its way too much... the ssd is a really nice daily pounder that can hit and go low but the output is limited... ive been wanting to try a fi q... from what i hear they are very musical but pound at the same time... id lean towards FI... ive never been a big fan of RE besides from their 8s... look in to Ascendant Audio Havoc aswell
-
first of all you need to measure the exact space u have to work with height width and length
-
typically when mono amps have 2 channels it just makes it more convenient to hook 2 subs up in a series
-
Ok im in the market for a new amp... i was running a Zapco 360.4 but that was recently stolen so ive decided to try something new... i wanted the Draconia but from what i hear its going to be a LONG time before they are available again... my question is will 2 gladius work the same as 1 draconia in an active setup? if so: WTB x2 Gladius w/ BB chipset, but preferably 1 Draconia w/ BB (i know its a long shot but some1 maybe willing to part with one lol) i posted WTB here since i cant in sell/wanted

zapco isnt really horrible on the wallet unless u go above the reference line. mcintosh is a whole new ball game... ive ran 2 zapco amps n have had no complaints the DC line is out right sexy, cant say much about the mcintosh amps since ive never had the pleasure to own one, but if theyre anything like the HT amps... you get what u pay for... look in to genesis amps aswell, but the DC line from zapco will deff be the better bang for ur buck imo deff go active otherwise ull be wasting money on great amps that wont be used to their full potential try narrowing down on exactly what u want out of ur speakers so we can help you... since LSQ is so broad

wow all i can say is the twins make my 500.1 look like poo... deff. seeing myself upgrading to a mini in about a few weeks hahaha the build quality is impeccable... solid all around and cleeeeaaaannnnnn, i cant wait to install them... there most deff will be a build log....soooo excited!!!! hahaa
-
AHHHHHH my glads are on the ups truck on route for delivery IM sooooo excited right about now!!!!
-
heres the direct link http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=12012 Im also debating if i want to pick up a pair of X 10s for another install... Fi has great products but even better customer service... dont worry to much, since this is your 1st build... its the only way your going to learn my suggestion is save some money for sound deadener its a must and the install generally is the most important part... it makes a difference between a "OK" sounding system from a "great" sounding system
-
wow 1100 wtf i hope no one is dumb enough just to buy it w/o doing some research on it... but i do like the part where he said it was rebuilt for competition lol

What computer games do you play online?
Mino replied to toolfan91's topic in Computers / Electronics / Music / Games
Hi my name is Minh, i used to be a WoW addict... i am now 4 months clean, and going strong! haha but seriously tho... wow is insanely addicting UO runescape (lol old skool) team fortress 2 CS Battlefield 2142 away from pc xbox 360 is the next best thing halo 3 ftw among many others -
the difference is in the EQ the ".2" has WAY more features that can come in handy if you want to upgrade later... like upgrading your components from passive to active cause it has built in xovers the ".1" only has it for the sub i believe... im sure you can find one on Ebay for cheap you'd have to bypass the factory amp and convert the signal into RCA like what stevesan is saying... but i doubt it would sound good, my best bet would to look on ebay for either .1 or .2
