Quick Question about building my BTL's

I am getting some 15" btls. I was curious about how I should get it made. I know I want the p-chamber. I read that if you get the 3rd magnet with no cooling option, this is better for SPL. So, what happens if you get 3rd magnet with the cooling option. This is going to be a daily driver with, hopefully tons of SPL, but I don't want to kill the sub and replace it or fix it consistently. So, which option with these should I go with?

Height of the box for 18's

cool, i didnt' even think about that one...still debating though. 18's would be badazz in the bed of a truck. For theabunai, it is a flat fiberglass lid. I hate those camper shells, I think they are ugly, but that is my opinion.

Height of the box for 18's

I am very curious on this one. About how tall would a box have to be to fit a 18" BTL forward facing in it. I am curious cause I wonder if I can get it in the bed of my truck or not. I don't think I can, but am curious none-the-less. Thanks

    Quick Question for you Shawn

Whats up Shawn?? Quick Question, about how much does it cost to do all the big upgrades in a truck. New alt, wiring, etc. I know this is probably the most imp thing my truck will need. Esp if I try to run the 4 BTL's. What is a good alternator company. This is for a 2006 or 07 Chevy Silverado.

Thread for amps to run on FI Subs

I do, stupid thick fingers, that is like the sixth or seventh time I put RE instead of RF....big difference there. Thank god F and I are on seperate sides of the keyboard, make it easier for me.lol...

Height of the box for 18's

yeah, pretty much. I am trying to figure out if I can attempt 4 18's or just live with the 15's. Either way I have to make a pretty creative box for the bed of the truck. The 18's may be kinda crazy though......Chevy Silverado

    15" BTL loaded.

What is with the people on youtube always judgin crap. The little punk is really probably pushin 2 Sony Xplode subs, probably the low end ones at that. Yeah, it aint much to the eye, but it gets the job done and that is what counts.

I will be putting two RE4000.1's on my BTL's

    Quick Question for you Shawn

Shawn gave me some good advice on the batteries. Going with Mega Crank batteries, simple yellow tops. Gonna put 5 in my truck, 4 in the back and one under the hood.

review thus far of 15" btl fully loaded.

Ironically, Shawn and I were just talking about the SQ lvl of this bad boy. I was surprised to hear what all it has to offer, that is why I am going with 4 of the 15" monsters.

    Quick Question for you Shawn

yeah, i usually just count them in the overall basic install price. Sure would be nice if I had time to learn to do this so I could do it myself. I dont know jack about cars and electronics really.

One more quick question about box dimensions

Nevermind, just completly scratch this entire idea, sorry i posted before I wrote this out. Even if they would fit, I couldn't put 4 of them forward facing like the 15's which I think I can. Even if I could, the angles I would have to place them would totally eat up the bed of my truck.
  15. I am not entirely sure about box dimensions and all. I want forward facing subs. I know 15's will work, but wonder if I could manage an 18. These are going in the bed of my truck with a fiberglass flat shell on top. I am pretty sure the depth of the bed of the truck is 20 or 21". Would I be able to build a box that will fit in this for 18's, or is it way to tight?

    Quick Question for you Shawn

That is it, I was thinking it would cost a lot more to do a total upgrade of my electrical system and all. I had imagined about 1500 or so for the 8K watts or so of power.
  17. Obviously, you can already tell I am major noob at all this, but learning. I am getting the 4 15" BL's when I save up enough to do everything. What I need to know is what Ohm do I need to pick for the BL's. I have yet to get a amp. I was hoping to run 2 amps, maybe the Kicker 2500.1, but not sure. Any and all info on what Ohm setting and amp I should get would make my day better. Thanks.

BTL or BL and what to go along

I guess once the day finally comes to buy these babies, I will see what my final savings are and work from there. Hopefully I will have a couple extra grand and be able to go with the BTL's, but will find out when that time comes.

BTL or BL and what to go along

Here is my problem/hold up. I am getting a new truck, one for pure audio fun, full size of course. I will be doing a cut through, so the entire bed is game. I want tons of SPL, enough to make your stomach almost turn. I want 4 15's and am not sure what to go with BTL or BL. I know I need some good amps to push them. What all power wise (wires, alt, extra batteries) would I need and about how much/where can I get a alternator from. I have some crap P3's now and want to do a massive jump up. I got addicted and my friends are killin me, want to destroy them. Thanks

Last question for my setup....help if possible Scott or anyone

You know, I would love to do 4 15" BTL's. My problem is I don't think I could afford the left over stuff. I would need a lot more electrical upgrades as well as another $2000 in amps. That is currently a little out of my budget. If things work out, maybe I will be lucky and be able to save a couple extra grand and do this. In which case, I will be unstoppable in my little peon town.

Last question for my setup....help if possible Scott or anyone

That was exactly what I was looking for. I know I have been all over lately. I am horrible about new things. I am like an old person getting their first computer. All in all, I think I really like the entire FI thing. The subs seem great, the people very friendly. Getting quick hookups and people that are working with me, not throwing out 100's of opinions. They are telling me the entire truth here and everything I am looking for. So, thanks to all on this forum that has helped me with me questions.

    Curious about cutthrough in truck

I was actually debating on that one. Not completely sure if I could actually afford a Avalanche. I am already buying from a Repo lot, lol. Can't beat their prices. My friend just got a 06 F150 with the suicide doors for only 17K. Same truck at the Ford dealership was 24. Both had warranties. If I am lucky enough they will get an avalanche. Can I fit 4 15's in the bed of an Avalanche. Haven't really looked to much into it.

    Curious about cutthrough in truck

Just being curious, about how nice would 4 15's, either BTL or BL, sound being funneled through a cut through in the bed of a truck going into the cab. Would the rear seats ruin a lot of the air being moved? Or will stuff still fly????

    Curious about cutthrough in truck

This is gonna sound bad, but if my old lady lets me, I will be getting a Chevy Silverado, what I really want. The positive part of this is that its back seats fold down, unlike almost every other truck out there. Then this entire problem will be solved immediately.
