ok i just got a 40.1 used and I powered it up with no rca's and no load power light.so i hook up rca's and volt meter to gain match and it is in protect. so i unhook everything drain the caps with test light hook it back up and still in protect.then i turn the gain and notice when you wiggle the gain the power light come's on.so i hook up the multi and the amp has output voltage with the protect light on. so my question is is this amp in protect or is it working? should there be a out put voltage with it in protect? my other 40.1 has the same voltage as the one with the protect light. has anyone else seen this problem? i have the amps stacked with carpet between them sitting on a peice of mdf. powered by 2 100lb batt's floating @ 13.8. the amp is grounded on the battery and battery's grounded to the frame. any help would be great thanx

i made the post because some amps will pull an ass load of amps and i'm not sure these batterys will handle it
-
just wondering if the 40.1 will burp off of 4 8 volt trojans @ 1 ohm. i already have the batt so buying something different is out of the question
-
think it will do 17+ volts
-
try them amp's strapped @ 1ohm with some battery behind it! great time's

one more thing in usaci and dbdrag you can not use a ipod.not saying some people wont let you use it but it is in the rule's

If I may ask why, in your opinion, would a changer be better? my changer has yet to skip even playing @ mid 50's at 54 hrtz or playing any song i can get my hand's on with 2 9515's tuned to 35 hrtz with 2 3000's.

changer is the way to go.i had to get one for my crx after about 150ish and when i played some street bass in it

I went from 1 amp -2 amp's and gained 1 soild db

they wouldent even sell them to my freind. figure's anyways good luck
-
it's just experence with the xxx that make's me feel that way. I might work for some better then other's. goodluck loudcav i think he will still be able to do a 152.? sealed on the dash. it's a 2db average going from the dash to the floor with the door/s open great number by the way.best I've done was a 153.7 on the dash and a 154.? on the floorboard with 2 15's and 2 sundown 3000's

where was the mic? window's/doors open? don't mean to bust your bubble but the XXX is junk! you can't find recone part's for them. they want you to recone them with no shim's, the gap in the motor has like a 1/4 inch of play when you put a coil in it.they are not real efficent. better off selling it and buying something else

well i'm throwing my first show this month and would like some feedback from you guy's. 1-2 woofer's 3-4 woofer's armagedan (anything goes just dont break my sensor) first place winner's will win a 4 gauge install kit with rca's and anybody that enter's has a chance to win a custom box,2 10" subs,6.5" comp's or a small 2 channel amp. I thought this would be a little different then seeing all the same people win all the time.tell me what you think! oh and jacob I'm in need of a banner/sticker's for my show's or anything you might want to throw down thanx for the feedback peps
-
well the show went great only 8 people but it was fun. here are some pic's on my space http://www.myspace.com/colorado_basswarz
-
I might try that next
-
whats wrong with that? I've beat people with 18's and did it with 1 10" anyway's I don't think that will matter because it's not about who is the loudest @ my show it's who has the right raffle ticket.i think that will bring more people back to the show's instead of seeing the same people win over and over again. thanx jacob just thought i would take it a step farther then just the state record it don't sound like much but when a couple hundred people seen me beat the burb with 3 solo-X 18's and 6 kx2500's it was priceless. they swarmed my car just to see what I had in it for the win.
-
my best with the crx and loudest in colorado 153.7 yeah I know it's not that loud but good enough to take down a seven foot award.now i need more power jacob
-
has anyone tested this. is one louder then the other? and this can happen! my cyclop's were .2 louder when they were not strapped
-
thought this was funny maybe someone can shed some light http://audioforum.termpro.com/cgi-bin/ubb/...pic/3/6773.html
-
people have tested and tested and tested the more wire the louder and better your system will run.one guy tested after each run of wire and said he would gain 1 tenth each run.I think this is for most of the comp vehicle's not for daily driver's.but if you have too run 1 battery run a few strand's of zero gauge. my 2 3000's will not run with only 2 run of 0gauge but with 4 run's I can get one full burp @ 1ohm strapped. the more wire the better

what are you running amp wise? what ohm? how often do you beat it @ high volumes
