how come? 2500D is kind of hard to find to me so I thought it would be better to find one now before I cant find one later..
-
Yeah but actually it doesnt matter cuz if I am going to get another sub.. In the future I'll be looking for that 2500D all over again because I think I am going to want to upgrade to 2 subs.. Buy amp now, sub later.. OR buy sub now, amp later.. (I'll also get 2nd sub) Doesnt matter.. Hope you understand what I am saying? P.S. Where can I find 8 or 10 gauge speaker wire on line? Only 10 ga I ve seen is at sounddomain.com..
-
Ok thats cool.. I guess I ll be looking for another amp after all.. I am going to keep my sub for now.. and power it with the amp I want for a while until I got extra money then I will just sell mine and get 2 Q with BP Power option..
-
soo (2) D1 subs will work(for 1 ohm load I mean), right?
-
I did a research and the 2500D is 1/2 ohm stable.. But, not sure if it ll handle .5 ohm with no problem.. How do I get a 1 ohm load from 2 sub to one amp? (2) D1 subs?
-
yeah the chrome one.. its a beauty to me lol.. I m seriously considering getting one, but in order to get that I ll have to trade with cash/sell my JBL 1201.1 then I ll probably get another Fi Q in near future.. I m wondering if I have (2) Fi Q D2, will they be able to wired to give 1 ohm load together?
-
I see ok, I understand now.. I m pretty new to this kind of stuff so thats why I dont get it at first.. Sorry if I frustrated some of you guys.. I got a set of 3 way speakers(I know I should have comps instead) up in the front.. But they are not being amped yet, I need to buy some wirings and accessories/parts then I ll be set to amp those speakers up.. Then it should be a bit better? More clarity in the words especially? For some reason, Orion 2500D is an eye candy to me right now.. I am considering finding a way to get that amp.. Do any of you guys have any experience on that amp? Is it that good? Also if i get it, I might get another Q in near future and run 2 subs with that amp..
-
I guess I ll just leave it as is for now.. unless someone shoots me an offer for it then I ll take it and get a new one with bp power option.. So I can get bigger amp to power it in future.. and who knows i ll get an extra sub.. I m just curious, how much does it cost to get it reconed to Dual1?
-
What you're going through is old fashioned psychoacoustics...you're telling yourself there's a problem when there isn't one. But it's your money. Don't be surprised if there isn't a huge difference when you change amplifiers though Hey.. you got me thinking about my set up today.. You said I wont notice a difference in 400 more watts.. I dont understand why are you saying that? Let's compare 0 watt and 400 watts.. That is a big difference right? And I dont see any different from that for 800 to 1200 watts? Let me know, thanks P.S. I got offers for my sub and I am not sure if I should let it go already.. Over at other forum, some are suggesting me to try give my amp 1 ohm load and see what happens, and it would go in protect if it wont work so no harm will be done? What do you guys think? TIA
-
Well I ll do what I want to do alright? And more likely I got a deal from a guy that wants my sub.. Then I ll buy a new Q with BP Power option.. so it ll be a difference I am sure..
-
True, but I was aiming for 2 ohm load (1200 watts) all year long, and now here it comes, I only get 4 ohm load.. Yes I am happy but I would be happier if I got what I wanted you know? well yeah, but more likely I will just sell the sub instead, and get another one with BP power option and D1.. But I am talking with a guy about trading his Orion 2004 Amp for my amp, it is 1 ohm stable.. I think I will pass on that lol.. P.S. My amp is tuned at 0 db for bass boost.. I am wondering if I should keep it that way? Or I should turn it up a bit? I was told that Bass Boost is a BAD idea.. let me know, thanks
-
I dont see why I should keep it the way it is right now when it is not at its full potiental.. I want to make sure my money is worth it so I want it to be at its fullest.. That's just me..
-
got pics of your amp? you want to trade your amp for my amp? I am not looking to buy another one, I m broke.. I only can sell mine and buy one or trade with the one I have right now. But I might prefer to switch subs instead of amps.. (seriously, I m wondering how much would it cost for me to have Fi replace the motor to Dual1? will it be expensive?) I would love to get another sub but that is not what I want tho (also I dont have the money to buy another sub) The box I got is from a guy who already made it.. It is built with 3/4 MDF, tuned at 26hz for daily listening (I more likely will build my own 32hz box which is better for my kind of songs..)

Subwoofers facing upwards or towards the rear end
uglydimple12 posted a topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Let's talk about subwoofers in general, which way will it perform the best, subs facing upwards(the roof) or facing towards the rear end? just wondering since i ve seen a lot of people doing upwards around here.. unless i just dont notice anyone that points their subs towards the rear end.. -

not mean to jack the thread.. but i m wondering what is a burp? i keep seeing everyone saying it and i have no clue what does it mean lol.. i ve tried looking around to find out what does it mean but nothing helped.. p.s. i m still new to car audio world..

Grim, just go with whatever you want it to be.. just wanted to give u my ideas thats all.. my opinion, we should get a quote that is better than "you didnt need that mirror anyway" it just doesnt sound right since it is talking about mirrors in general, that way people probably wont understand except for us since we know that it is talking about the rearview mirror which keep falling off n whatever.. It needs something like a better quote that represents Fi car Audio company specifically p.s. i really like the design on the front of shirt you got there.. but for the back, i think you should just have a Fi logo there like what i designed and thats it, no quote unless there is a better quote, just imo..
-
Thats how i would want it to be but i think it looks better without the code in some ways..
-
^^ nice idea you guys got there but i m thinking more of like a small Fi logo in the middle on the front or have it spelled out "Fi Car Audio" on the middle of the shirt on the front side then have a big FI logo on the back of shirt and put the company quote under it.. in a medium sized font.. for some reason i m not digging the design above.. i dont like how the quote is being said in circular shape..

oh 40-70 hz? thats good then.. i guess i m set for now.. all i have to do now is save up some money.. i m probably half way there right now.. things i m need to buy 1- 15" BL fully loaded except for extreme lead 1- JBL 1201.1 Amplifier someone to make me a box specified for 15 inch BL 1/0 gauge power wire with inline fuse RCA interconnect ? AWG speaker wires ? I m wondering what is suggested AWG for speaker wires since all of this stuff is high end? and i might have to look into swapping my batttery with a yellow top or some good battery.. also i need to do the big 3..

Hello to ya all.. Just wanted to introduce myself- my name is Jarvis and I'm 17 years old. I am from state of Indiana, and i own a 95 Ford Explorer.. A member from forums mainly about explorers introduced me to this forum.. which i found many cool stuffs and helpful informations.. I am very interested in buying a Fi subwoofer anytime soon.. I m currently saving money for the sub, shouldnt be too long since I got a job.. I just got some questions before i can ask more questions.. I just want to ask the question to people who has experience with Fi.. I am debating on which to get- a 15 inch Q or a 15 inch BL? I know that Q is provided as is while BL has some options, but i m not sure if I know what purpose does those options serve.. would be nice someone could explain me about those options.. I love bass more than anything in music so i wanna it to hit some insane lows.. I m planning on strapping it to a JBL 1201.1 amplifier so I just wanted to see which sub do you guys think i should get.. answers to the questions would be appreciated.. thanks in advance.. p.s. here is some pics of my explorer in case you guys want to see it..(i m not sure if thats too much pictures ha)
-
cool alright, more likely i ll do this.. one more question.. before i ask, i want you all to know that i m no expert at tuning.. so i m wondering if i m gonna use SSF to filter 30hz and lower.. so thats mean my sub wont have chance to hit that hard? or it will? i m more of SPL guy than SQ.. i like to get some good thumps and make sure that everyone around me knows that i have sub in my vehicle ha..
-
perfect! so thats mean i can just get the JBL amp and get this ssf part and plug it into the rcas input of the amp? on the back end of this part has holes for the rca interconnects to plug into, correct? also if i get this aftermarket ssf part, nothing else i need to do, it is being automatically filtered at 30hz??
-
^^^ many thanks for the explanation.. it was a very clear one..appreciate it.. i couldnt help but want the jbl 1201.1 amp, since i m abt to get a GTO75.4II amp so i d like to have a matching amp but it doesnt say in its specs that if it got subsonic filter or not.. i might call the customer service see if they can give me answer on this one.. But i m curious, lets say if there is a note in a song that will make it go under 30 hz (and i set the SSF at 30hz) then what will the sub do? nothing? or it ll still play but at 30hz instead of lower?
