Enclosure Build for spsjr1987 (Two 12 Inch Sundown Audio SA's)
TRP replied to Argent Audio's topic in Argent Audio
Nice box! Do you just take up some space in that shop or do you work there also? -
Well bleeding from the ears has alot to do with the person themselves also. I have known people who have had there ears bleed, and they were only doing like a 140+, but they have had ear problems all there lives. And i dont know if someone would be dumb enough to sit in a vehicle that is doing a 170-180 for a more than just one burp! But hey people are stupid!! I know i sat in a vehicle that did a 170, straight SPL car, for like 2 secs and my chest almost caved in!!!

Welcome! Yes the Best Buy run is funny stuff!! I just wish would have let me know so i could have gone too!! Love the hair trick girls from those vids!!! Some nice hotties!!
-
Thats cool, yea i could not get rid of my third row now!! I thought about it, but we have taken so many trips where it was only possible because i had the 3rd row. Cool man, those things should still pound pretty good in there!!!
-
If you already have a decent sub, why are you wanting to change? Can you explain the reason for needing to change? What is your budget? Have you thought about redoing your current enclosure? Is it gonna be a one note wonder, or a daily also? There is alot of questions that you should help answer first. This site is great for helping, but we need to know what we are trying to help first.

Yea i dont see him ever selling!!! This thing is going to be a wrecking ball one day......... soon! Mark and Aaron have put in some hard earned sweat equity!
-
Looks pretty good, do you plan on actually using the 3rd row? If not i would say get rid of it. Then you could make some grocery space also. And any reason for going with the sealed more than a ported? Besides size restraints?
-
Welcome to the site. And before you get to beat up i would suggest you mention what kind of goals you are looking for? Not just a better sub. What are you looking for it to do? What kind of budget? What size's can you work with? Well GL with it all anyways!!

Look like a good build.

In the market for a Lift Kit or Air Ride.
TRP replied to BanginGMC's topic in Automotive and Performance
Yes i would highly suggest a good big brake kit if you are wanting to do anything more than the 20's that you have now. Forgot to tell you about that yesterday! -
I wasnt trying to be mean to him, i was just making sure of what he was thinking of. And letting him know what i thought they were supposed to be called. Some people have different terms for things. Truly no disrespect to him.

Nice build! Nice to see someone rocking SoundStream, i have been trying to push them lately, whats your opinion on them? Have you used them before?
-
I was just saying i have never heard of eardubs! Sounds like they would be earphones that have spinners on them or something!! I prefer a good full headset over anything. But i am not very picky, as long as it sounds decent and has good volume.
-
I think you mean EarBuds dont you? I have been using Sennheiser HDR 110 wireless headphones for over a year now and they have been great. But i dont persoanlly use in ear headphones. They never fit me right, wont stay in. Well good luck with your choice.

Wow man looks amazing!! And it seems like it is hitting like crazy!!! -
As long as your truck has a removable light then yes they can be installed. which i think what you have is a 9006 Bulb. The bulb type if you mean the numbers like 9006, 9005, H1, H4...etc they are the bulb style that will fit into certain housings. If that is not the bulb type you mean please explain more. L O L HID's for $30, cant wait for the results haha you get what you pay for with hids Normally that is VERY true, the thing with DDM that i have found is this, "We can price these so low because they are made in a factory we have partial ownership in. We don't pay the factory a profit, we can pass the savings on to you." I am not saying that the quality is the best, but it seems as if they have removed the normal 3rd party distributor. I do agree that alot of reflector housings are not made for HID's it does not necessarily mean that they will not work fine in the setup. My cars are a good example. I own a 2003 Ford Explorer with normal reflector housing, i have installed a 55W 6000K system and they are by far the brightest lights i have ever seen!!! Besides spotlights, different story! And i also have a 2001 BMW 330I that has factory projectors and HID's, now i have never been flashed in my explorer for the lights, but i get flashed alot with the bimmer. And they are both set at normal or lower than normal range, Dont get my wrong i completely understand what you are saying with the projectors, i am just saying that it will vary for every situation. But yes projectors will offer the cleanest cutoff and best dispersion of light.

I sell mine for normally $90 for a single bulb kit. So that price is about normal. DDM's prices are really low, dont know what kind of kits they have though? Lance has had good success with them. And i am not sure what you mean by a True and UnTrue HID kit? There are bulbs that claim to give an HID look. But all they do is color the bulb with a blue tint and actually reduce the lighting output. And kit that comes with a ballast and a non-filament bulb will be an HID kit. Also i would suggest you go with either a 6K or an 8K kit, anything in the 10K and higher will not be a good light output. When looking at them they are bright, but they will not project the light far down the road. GL with the purchase, i am sure you will love them!!! If you need any more help let me know!

Getting license soon, any random ideas for stereo setup and design
TRP replied to gadgeteer123's topic in Off Topic
On my headphones i could hear it, now what were you looking to do with the car? Make it hit harder, or just sound better with what you have? You can always try a new box design. And maybe running the amp to the front also, even though they are only 40W it should really help it out. But good luck with it. -
Jacob is a great guy, and terrific customer service!! Another happy sundown customer!! Keep up the good work Jacob!!

One suggestion i would make is to try using a woven mat, not fiber....... If that made sense to you. I will get pics of what i mean if you need. And could you explain your steps. Did you put resin on the cloth first then lay the fiberglass or did you lay it then put resin on it? Well man GL with it, the best way to learn is to do it and see where to make it better!! Props for you to step out and try it!!
-
Looks good, the box is crazy also!! Is it just a funky design or supposed to help produce more of something?
-
It is possible, but like mentioned it will be more to do with pressure levels, not just sound level. Also the design of a windshield will come into play also. If it will flex alot then the easier to break.
