I know that, it is still probably not worth it. X2, in a component set the tweeter is mated to the mid/woofer and the crossover network. Just switching from passive crossovers to electronic ones doesn't change anything else. If you really want to go active check out separate drivers from parts express and madisound, they're cheaper than you think. Do some searches on this forum, there have been a lot of recommendations and system builds using very reasonably priced drivers.

That question has been answered many, many, many times. If you doubled 2k to 4k you would be 3db louder in a perfect world, but you have to factor in power compression and technical term, etc, etc so you might get a 2 db gain which would be slightly louder. Given your scenario from 2k to 3k I'm going to say no, you will not get a real difference.

And here I thought I was the only one who still listens to Techmaster PEB! I have a 2006 Scion xB; I know the new ones are a step up, but you are going to need sound deadening. Lots of great posts on this forum about deadening.

Around $100, Crutchfield put them on sale before for $80. Audio Control makes great stuff right here in the US, but they need to modernize to digital or they might not keep up with the competition.

When I turned the volume up the sub wasn't getting as loud as the front stage. It sort of hit a plateau. I browsed a few forums (before I found this one) and found out about the Audio Control LC2i, it allows adjustments and fine tunings to the bass. I don't how subjective my opinion is/was, but I definitely felt it helped ALOT.

There is a very big push coming from the Federal gov to revamp education- they're called Common Core standards and are designed to better prepare American students for college and careers. I still like Japan's model where high school is not required, instead middle school students who don't test well enough enter technical training and prepare for careers in skilled labor, but we'll never do that here.

We enjoy so much leisure time and technology has improved entertainment so much that we live largely sedintary lifestyles. You add all this up and cultural forces are hard at work "making" Americans obese. I didn't even point out the "food deserts" that many poor neighborhoods around the US face. I strongly fight my Libertarian, pro-Malthus slant- don't do a damn thing and let the weak die, the human race will be better for it in the long run.

I don't have a problem with people eating shit food as I believe people have the right to do what pleases them as long as it doesn't harm others, but that doesn't mean I have to be unhappy about hostess closing. Don't see why you need to bring firearms into this. Snake cakes make you fat and guns are at fault for killing people, it's not a direct correlation, but rather a general indication of the current trend to decrease personal responsibility. I'm not giving corporations a blank check either, I don't like how decentralized stock holders make decisions that affect people they never have to come into contact with, unfortunately I don't know of any system that works better.

Why are you guys happy about failed American industries? If you don't want to eat junk food, don't, but why be glad when people are offered less choice. Fat people (I am one) are fat by choice in most cases, it isn't a companies fault people don't exercise or abuse their products. Are you the same guys who think guns kill people?

Manufacturing in the US isn't dying, it's just changing. Last year the US manufactured twice the dollars amount of China, BUT we make high end, high tech stuff like fighter jets and electric turbines not happy meal toys or sandals. The snake cake market is very competitive and doesn't have the margins to be able to pay union wages and benefits. I don't like it, but it is what it is.

Welcome, that amp will be just fine for the DCON. There is no need to run the full RMS to a sub.

A lot depends on how much processing your head unit does, and I don't know about Fords. I kept my dodge head unit but had to add an electronic line-driver because the passive LOC wasn't quite right. I later added an EQ and am happy with the results. I had a serious problem paying over $150 for a system bus and steering wheel control adapter on a new head unit and still lose the sat radio and dash display.

I was surprised by the lousy quality of satelite radio, but it came with the car and it is great for family road trips. I kept the factory head unit and run an LC2i line driver and an EQL, I have been happy with the results.
