If you aren't going to double the power, you probably won't hear a difference. If however you want to buy a better designed/higher quality amp for the hell of it, than ok. If that's the case, I'd strap 2 Zed Minotaurs.

Welcome, you're in better shape than me, I got out in the early 90's. Wow, things changed a lot for me, seems like most old school companies got bought out and everything is made in China. The SSA store sells a few products still made in the USA.

You can't do espresso on my french press, the fine grindings get caught in the mesh, and I'm not into the espresso anyways.

You are going to puke at the price of real grinders. Hard to find anything worth a shit under $250 Only an idiot would spend $250 on a coffee grinder, and I don't care how "good" it is--that's ridiculous. I'm with Stefan on this one, I'll probably spend less than $40 for a small hand grinder. I'm not a coffee addict, and I'm the only one in the house that drinks it.

What format are you burning the songs onto the cd? Make sure they're not compressed.

Nem, I am sure you can do this. My in laws have had 3 remote starters installed from their completely, totally incompetent local car audio shop and have had no problems at all over that last few years. These tools have absolutely no clue what the hell they're doing and they didn't mess up the remoter starters. Example 1- in my original install the LOC wasn't wired correctly- switched the positive and negatives on one of rear channels and these fools couldn't even find that out. Example 2- they didn't even bother to use the "weather stripping" type tape on the mid of the component system to seal it to their adapter plate- which didn't even fit well. You can do it, no problems.

Won a coffee basket at my daughter's art school fundraiser, finally got a french press. I'm liking it, now to get a grinder and start grinding my own beans.

That's some scary spam, it even hit the like button! -
1300 rms at 2 ohms isn't going to be cheap or easy. Start looking at the larger Hifonics amps with your budget try this one http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_23549_Hifonics-Brutus-BRZ2100.1D.html

I've heard and liked Alpine type r's, but not everybody does. I would love to hear some of the comp sets offered at the SSA store, but haven't found any yet.

Often times kick panel installs help with imaging. It's really hard recommending comp sets, people have different tastes, there have been a TON of posts about which comp set to use, read some of those for opinions.

It looks nice, and if you're happy with the sound than good for you.
-
I had the same problem, JBL power series components on 80 watts RMS and no mid bass. The answer was a good install. My local shop (which didn't do the first install) added sound deadening, made a much better baffle and Holy Crap! I got way more mid bass.

A half way decient set of comps properly installed and on a moderate amp will keep up with 2 12"s.

I went to 5 shops...one had a partialy working board and it was the big brand names only.

Amp for a single GCON 10?
SS Teacher replied to Kaschan's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Sonic has GT-2200 for only $149, might get one to just keep under the bed till needed. -
The links you provided are for mono, 2 channel, and 4 channel amps. Why would you use a 4 channel amp for a sub? Take a look at this http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_23547_Hifonics-Brutus-BRZ1700.1D.html if you're powering a sub, but you need to think about the total ohm load when/if you add another sub.

Another which amp question
SS Teacher replied to aemeth's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If your goal is sound quality, than the lion's share of your budget and efforts should be directed at your front stage. Getting a sub loud and accurate isn't that hard. Your box will have a bigger impact on sound than your amp will. What are your goals, budget, and vehicle? -
I'm 6'2" and despair because I could never drive a car with speakers in the kick panels.

Have a Lincolntastic Birthday!
-
My thoughts exactly, not to knock everything though, the box looks great and you definitely have fiberglass skills, it's just not my style.
-
My wife has a charger, 2 12"s will fit just fine, I don't think you'll have the height clearance for 15"s. Stock alts are 160 amps, but you need to do the big 3 right away- factory wires are surprisingly thin. Great cars!

SSD - Dual 2 or 1 For Fosgate T1001-bdcp?
SS Teacher replied to JosephSprague's topic in Fi Technical
I'd run it at 2 ohms to be a little easier on electrical, you would never hear a 50 watt difference. Have you done the big 3?
