Welcome to the forum, it's nice to see someone from Florida who doesn't have a wall of super tweeters fiberglassed into their ride. You don't have super tweeters, do you?

Great sounding component speakers

Search the word "component" on this site, lots and lots of opinions. Not trying to be a jerk, but a lot good stuff is already out there. -
Great sounding component speakers
SS Teacher replied to garychurch84's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
This is a very common question thread. You'll get a lot of opinions, but what sounds good to you might sound like crap to someone else. What's your budget? install can easily make a bigger difference than the actual speakers. -
I tapped the front speakers for signal into the LC2i. It has one RCA out for the sub channel and one full range RCA output for the front speakers. I use Y splitters to send a 2nd set of RCAs to the rear channels of my Boston 5 channel amp. In retrospect, I wouldn't bother with rear speakers, just a good component set up front and sub in back. Mustangs are pretty small, you win't need rear speakers to get loud.

If it starts to smell or sound funny, turn it down.

Sucks either way, but thank God it wasn't a student. That would have been a major shit-storm.

So I'm walking to the front office to turn in paperwork and run into a parent who tells me one of the triplets will be dropping off my Christmas present, but I can't open it on school grounds. I get home, unwrap the box and... I've been teaching for 17 years and never got anything like that before. Muy Bueno!

All this talk of warm socks...a cold front is moving through...the high will be 61 and low will plummet to 37. That's pretty damn cold for central Florida.

I don't think he's a bad guy, just a bad leader. He is what he is- a leftist civil rights lawyer from a heavy Democratic state. He doesn't know HOW to work with opposition. He grand stands, protests, campaigns and goes on media tours, but everything the guy tries to do has been done and failed. The health care bill he signed won't actually fix the biggest problems, raising taxes on the rich won't actually fix the tremendous debt problem we have, and trying to reenact the Brady bill won't work either. He doesn't get it. If the history books are written correctly this guy will go down as one of the least effective presidents in the last 120 years. No one who doesn't drink the Kool aid thinks our president can actually make anything better in this nation.

Mmmmm....Old School goodness. You must've been a very good boy for Santa to bring you that!

I do on occasion teach Sunday School, but I've been teaching Social Studies at Pasco High School since January of 1995.

No desire to step up to the plate? I agree 100%. Too few good people in good positions. Don't have a degree in Ed. Leadership and would never want the job. I love being in the classroom and couldn't imagine doing anything else.

Seriously bummed, I've had the same principle for 14 years and he's retiring in 2 days. True leaders of men are very hard to find.

Generally 8"s are used when space prohibits the use of a larger driver, but a ported 8" box isn't going to be significantly smaller than a 10" ported box, which leads to very few practical uses of an 8" subwoofer. If you can work the search function on this site you can probably find several topics posted about Sundown's SA 8"s.

Hughes Net, the satellite internet is total, utter crap. $80 a month, limited to 300mb downloads per day, 2 year agreement, it was the only high speed option at the time. As soon as FiOS came in we scrapped Hughes Net, Direct TV, and AT&T and bundled with FiOS. I'm saving close to $120 a month.

Just to , OP you're asking "which hammer is best to drive 3" deck screws into my dry-wall" the answer is "none". The fact that you're replacing blown speakers and already have 4 tweeters and are not happy is telling. I have a Challenger which is much bigger on the inside and the 2 tweeters from my component set on 50 watts rms could be the loudest and most irritating part of the system if I didn't EQ them DOWN. You are going about fixing your problem the wrong way, and buying things you don't need is the biggest waste of money there is.
-
OP, not to be an @ss, but how do we know what you'll be happy with and why do you expect to pay $30 and get great sounding speakers?

Pink, furry door speaker pods. And I thought only we Floridians had questionable taste.

Double post fail!

Wouldn't really say there's no such thing as under powering because you can blatantly under power for example putting a sub that can handle say 2000 rms on an amp that only pushes say 500 rms. Also I was talking about a difference within the speakers not so much the amp. Nothing wrong with putting 500 watts to a 2000 watt sub, you just aren't going to get full potential out of it. You wouldn't hurt it at all.
