Challengers have 16 cubic foot trunks, Mustangs and Camaros have tiny trunks. I love the car and have been out of the game too long. I'm having it done bit by bit by the pros. Will definitely post picks when I get a little more work done.

I'll add that home stereos with different sized speakers are all crossed over to play a specific range of frequencies. Theoretically, you could have a 12" driver playing 20-50 hz and a 10" driver playing 50-80hz, but there is no need to do that. As Alton said, with the right enclosure you can easily play all the low notes sub woofers deliver.

Hard to ban all .50s. If they ban the bmg someone will just wildcat another round. Since shotguns get an .5 wide it would be tough to write a law that says in shotgun long guns it's ok, but not in rifle long guns. That's exactly what happened in California (the land of fruits and nuts) when they banned the 50BMG. I don't know if they banned everything larger than that, or just in long gun rounds. Everyone who had the cash purchased one before the ban went into affect and a whole bunch of people started wildcatting. They used to make 10 gauge shotguns but they are now considered "destructive devices", I haven't seen one of those in a long while.

I'm sure any gov. ban would include the .50bmg! Just ask California.

Have you used a port/box calculator yet? Search for "another bloody calculator" on this site, one of our members made it. Also check out torres and I think BCAE has one. It is ubber important that you design this box right if you want it to sound good.

I have a terminal cup on my box, if needed I can just take the box out and fill the trunk, empty the trunk and put the sub back in, not sure if this work for you. By the way, 15 cubic feet of trunk space is a lot, what car is this going into?

We live in interesting times my friends. Interest rates are at historic lows and we have unprecedented levels of governmental involvement in the markets. I can't think of any time in US history where home values have gone DOWN over a decade outside of specific, regional events (example love canal or the dust bowl). I would definitely advise long term home ownership with a historically low interest rate. Please do NOT try and flip a house, this is part of what got us in this place, it will be extremely tough to pull that off in this market.

If you have to go smaller than recommended, why not try sealed?

I'm a little confused. Are you competing on music or burp box or daily listening? If you're competing tune the box much higher. What are your goals? If its a daily driver than go with 2,000 watts, if you're chasing numbers bigger is better, but way more expensive. We need more info.

I was out of the audio game for ten years and learned a lot (read: made a lot of mistakes before I found this forum), my current system is an old German made MB quart 6x9 component system - woofers in doors and tweeters in the dash. My JL Audio 12w0 is in a 1.4 cube sealed box being powered with 250 watts from a Boston Acoustics 5 channel amp. The radio is stock and the LC2i feeds an Audio Control trunk mounted EQ. I am putting in a Sundown E15 on Wednesday and am collecting components for future upgrades.
