Finally got time to take pictures of my build its only 75% done I would say. I am still not satisfied with my midbass I am runing passive at the moment and I have sounddeadned and filled the kick panels with poly fiber fill. any suggestions are appreciated. rainbow slc365.25 with dd t2 tweeters (Plan on getting some cal26 tweets soon) ssa xcon 12" dual 2 ohm Lightning audio la-3000md I would say its giving it close to 1500 rms and soundstream stl4.500 for the highs (I plan on changing this amp asap) Dont mind the tape on the amp... Some pictures of my car

Thanks I appreciate it, I love my sub but I need better midbass, midrange is great from the 4", I think I might have to get some custom fiberglass kick pods. It'll probably take me awhile since I slowly pieced this system

Thank you sir.

Ill shoot some videos this week.

What would be the best mid bass I could get for the ft1 "supertweeters"? I was thinking of going 8" but I dont think the ft1's would pair up with an 8" so maybe selenium 6"?

do you guys recommend any alpine headunits im a fan of alpine. I know they have that alpine imprint is that pretty good?
-
Do you believe my amp is sufficient enough to run active?
-
I would never recommend using an amplifier as a crossover to run active. What would you recommend to run active on a budget.
-
nah I ditched the idea of ft1-se ill just use the 100 to add on to get a good set of components . im just having a hard time to decide what will my money go best to I like hertz I like the focal polyglass I like the rainbow SLC 265.25 NG. idk what to get im so lost lol .

Thats why I just want to do a 2 way for now cause my amp only has 4 channels. yea I really need something to keep up with my sub and I want mids that can blend nicely with my subwoofer.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/pictures_new.php?id=23973&picture_id=411633 Maybe run tweeters on the front channel and midbass on rear channel?
-
oh thats considered bandpass then my amp has that same feature.
-
yea I was looking at either hertz esx 165 , or maybe hybrid audio imagine 6 or something from dls. and maybe down the line ill switch over to active once I get a better amp cause in my opinion this soundstream amp im running isnt verry sq oriented even tho its an a/b. The only problem I have is finding a dealer that carries most of the brands I want so I can hear them in person side by side.

I can cut into metal fine, I even have a welder to fix anything I mess up , I Just never used fiberglass and prefer to stay away from it.

here is a pic of what a guy did with a e36
-
I have seen a person on a fourm once put a 8" in his e36 kick panel and he just cut out a hole in the sheet metal, Yea the trunk swallows alot of bass but I have alot of sound deadening in the trunk and I removed my rear seats so my xcon hits pretty pucking hard especially since its in a 3.0 cubic feet box tuned to 30 hz by 2 4" aeroports.
-
yea its the e36, and yea that was my original plan was to move up to 6.5" in the kicks and run them IB.
-
Yea I know some zapco amps have digital prosscesors , so do you recomend that I just get a new fiberglass enclosure for my kick panels. or should I just run them in IB. ive never worked with fiberglass so I will have to take it to a car audio shop and idk what the price range should be for a fiberglass enclosure .
-
I can adjust cross over points on the amp , but not slopes.
-
I was also looking at these tweeters http://www.madisoundspeakerstore.com/hard-dome-tweeter/seas-prestige-27tafnc/g-h1397-1-aluminum-dome-tweeter/ cause I heard good things about them on zaphaudio. I might just run active but I wont have any type of processing .
-
What do you Recommend for good midbass , my sub hits up to 80hz just fine but it gets verry quite at 100 hz so i need a good midbass setup to go from 90hz - around 2.5khz and then I need a good tweeter take the rest up
-
Also How can I find how much air space I have in the kick panels , I tried searching online but I couldnt find any information about my car.
-
Ok so I'm thinking of ditching the 8" idea and using a 6.5" driver and doing what Implous said and vent the kick panel so I run IB . Most likely it will be a selenium 6w4p. so now my delemia is which tweeter and what crossover to use . I would run active but I think its out of my budget and knowledge to run it correctly. I think passive will suit me just fine, I just want to get a great setup the first time and not have to go through alot of different setups like I did with my subwoofer.
-
its not in the doors its the kick panel so they have there own little sealed box idk the volume tho , and yes i did put sounddeading in and around the kickpanel
-
Im runing an mb quart reference component set and its not enough midbass and the tweeters are not loud enough , whats a better component set for around $250 that will give me excellent midbass and good highs
