12" XCONS box size question...
Patrick Danesky replied to Patrick Danesky's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
i would accommodate for displacement and port walls obviously.. im just asking if theyd like a bigger box closer to 3.5 or so? -
I am working on an intrepid. I am building a new box from the ground up to compliment the rear deck that i am fabricating with fiber. I would like to build a box to be able to port up through the deck and blow into the car. I will be using 2 12" ICONS. I have never designed a complex box before, so this is what I ask. What would be the best way to fire the subs, what should i do with the inside of this box, and HOW should i fire it up into the car? Any help would be appreciated, keep in mind that I am a box newbie. Patrick

Newbie Question: Porting Rear Deck

How did you get that cylindrical port coming down from the middle is that wood? I was going to make a square one.... do i need to put up any walls inside the box for better performance? -

Thats fine... thanks for the info. . What would you do about the box situation? does it matter how i mount the subs to fire the port upwards through the deck? -
Newbie Question: Porting Rear Deck
Patrick Danesky replied to Patrick Danesky's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Back seats fold down, i do not want them folded though. I would like these subs sounding at their best for sound quality. i am sawing out all the metal in the rear deck to build my fiber deck that will house my mids and highs, a total of 8 speakers. I am just wondering how big and how i should attach the port in this deck to a box... or how i should get the box to work with my deck -
I ordered 2 12" icons and I must say I'm impressed. Proudly sporting USA crafted quality. Fits just my needs. Great customer service, great forum with nice people. Thanks to all of you for answering my newbie questions.

Alright, got a custom box built for my SSA ICON 12"s ... question
Patrick Danesky posted a topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
I had a place build me a box and i gave them website to check out the specs, i just wanna make sure everything was done properly before i go ahead and accept this box. fits perfectly in my trunk (he measured before he made it) my subs are still being manufactured... so i have time to correct this if not. any pro response would be appriciated. H 14" x W 32" x D 24" is the overall outside dimensions. im not sure what he tuned the port to. the outside of the port is 12.5"x3" if you need more measurements id be more than happy. -

no double baffle for sure, same thickness in the front... no bracing i dont believe. port length is... 20 1/2 front to the L, where the L turns into 3 1/2 and thats measuring the longest sides of the port L -
