That's the answer I was looking for. Thanks for saving me time and $$.

Wouldn't it be funny to install a chit load of tweeters and then drive up to dogs and blast music? So why exactly would it not be a good idea? If I did install the tweeters higher, I'd get a better sound stage with the tweeters installed in the sail panels near the front end of the window.

Thanks everybody for the kind words! I personally love those grills and think they look kinda good! DRWANG84 and NDMstang65 I did put 1/4 inch spacers under those grills. I e-mailed Scott and he said that if I had a 5/8" gap from the top of the arch of the surround it should be good and since it was only 1/2" I made some 1/4 spacers. I actually now have about 11/16" to 3/4" gap so I hope I'm good to go! May I ask what you used as the spacers? Does it rattle the grill at all? I've been having this problem myself and I was wondering if I could get a tip or two from you. Thanks. Bytheway, I don't know what the recommended gap is for a 12" BTL. So if someone would please post that info, I'd really appreciate it! Hey Drwang84, What I did was make a paper template of the bottom mounting plate of the grill that screws to the box. Then I went to HomeDepot and bought a 4' X 1" X 1/4" strip of hardwood trim. I then jigsawed the template shape for each side, sanded them smooth and drilled holes and painted them black. I then bought longer screws to go thru the grills and spacers. If you are rattling try using some blue (medium)loc-tight on the screws that hold the bars to the mounting plates. Thats what I did! Works great! If my 10's needed 5/8" to 3/4", I would probably guess you would need around 7/8" to 1" to be safe. Just a guess....... Wow, You went into great detail Z1Truth! Unfortunately I don't have a jigsaw but I'll figure out something. Thanks again.

Haha sound deadening in your basement? What material do you use to cover the walls? I might be interested for my small bedroom so I can turn up the volume for movies late at night when everyone's asleep.

With those numbers and the mention of a burp, I'd say SPL although I'm quite curious about this woofer. Please post more information about the E12. I'd love to get my hands on a proto to test out. "17.7 watts @ 133.2 dB" Um, that must be a typo or a super efficient woofer lol.

I was browsing around and curious about the power handling of Mags. Quite surprized a 15" sub only needs 600wrms to get loud. I'd love to hear a Mag if anyone is ever in San Francisco, Danville, or Santa Cruz of California.

I have the exact same grills from expressparts and I noticed the clearance just isn't enough if you turn up the subs. Did you directly screw in the grills to the enclosure or did you use some sort of spacer? I just don't want your sweet Q's to get damaged when you start pumping up the volume. Peaz

It's been a long time since I've been back to the FI forums. Good thing the registration only took all of 2 minutes to complete. I like the new layout too. Ok, first I'll describe what's in my 2004 Mustang: 1) Prototype 12" BTL standard (in a ported custom fiberglass enclosure 32hz) 2) Reconed 12" RE HC (I swap these out every 2 months maybe because I do get picky with sound quality sometimes) 3) RF P800.2 4) and pair of JL 5.25" coaxials on a small 60rms mtx amp Also just got some thick Kicker 1/0 gauge wire which I will be upgrading from 4gauge wire. After the rewiring, I'll be upgrading the amp to possibly the T20001bd or similar output amp. I will post up the pictures of the install with a review on a prototype BTL. One of the originals that is still pounding to this very day no problems whatsoever. I will also be posting up a gallery of pictures that I took for a photography project of mine with the theme: Speakers of Nature. I'll try to get this up shortly but I've been quite busy as I work in an Accounting office and I'm sure you guys know how it feels to be an American and the dreaded pressures of our Tax Season. Anyways, great to be back and I'm looking forward to the full reconstruction of the FI forums.
