    Power Question

I would love to get more Zed amps but i have no where to put them! I wish that they would have come out with the higher power Megalith and the multi channel amps they were talking about doing! Stephen said that he has not had a chance to work on adding to the line up. The line up is already perfection, any addition would just be over the top IMO! I absolutly love these amps, best of all is all the local guys talk thier crap about how great Brand A and Brand B in comparison to my Zed's ant that they are just "ok budget amps" then when they hear them, they are speachless! I wish i had a camera to take pictures of the look on some of thier faces when they have nothing to say except to put their eyes back in the sockets! I just had an acquaintence tell me for weeks about how i should sell them and buy this other brand (which is very good brand) and i would never have a problem again, then he finally gave the Zed's a listen -- first no reply just a shocked look -- then the comment, "Well they sound ok for just that small amount of power, I guess" since then not another word was spoken about "my budget amps"

    Power Question

I am running all Zed Amps in my system, Gladius to the comps and 2 miniliths to the (2) 12" subs. Recently I have had some problems with the minilith amps, but a return trip to Zed should have cured that. My question is my subs "say" they have an RMS of 675 watts and are capable of 2000 watts (Eclipse SW8200's) with the 2 minilith's I was assuming that it would be enough power to push these baby's. A brief conversation with Stephen and he recommends setting up the miniliths so that each sub is powered off of it's own minilith. Thus giving each sub "330 watts" in his words. that is less than half of the RMS. I wanted to strap the amps to get around +/- 1200 watts which would be much closer to the recommended power for the subs. There is an instruction in the manual for the Amps that shows this proceedure for strapping but warns not to go below a 2 ohm load. I already had an issue with the amps and do not want to potentially damage them again. (first issue was with garbage DVC 4 ohm MA Audio subs, they blew out the amps cause they "fed a less than 1 ohm load to them") I did ask Stephen if based on the specs for the subs that the 330 watts would be enough power and he replied that " he was not aware of the REAL WORLD power required for these subs" So now I am in kind of a dilema here, I do not want to risk damage to the amps by strapping and potentially going below 2 ohms nor do i want to under power the subs and be disappointed and overdrive them to compensate thus causing more problems. Any advice or first hand knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
