Mass Effect 3 is an interesting game. I don't think I've ever played a game so ruthless in its handling of your "friend" characters in the game. More than once the game has responded to my characters cavalier approach to morality with "OH YEAH? THEN I WILL KILL ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS!" It's actually a bit jarring.

Still up... and working. Curse you SCVMM!

Just ruined my 4 year streak of not blowing a PSU by putting it on 240v without flipping the switch first. Wish all these old, crappy, non-active PFC PSUs would just go away already. Cheap, inefficient, blah.

Ugh. 4.5 hours of sleep is not going to make today a good day.

New PC is up. Did the drivers and software routine, then cranked the memory up to it's rated 1066 MHz, and bumped the CPU up 500 MHz to 3.7 GHz. Runs wPrime with 12 threads @ 100% load and 51c temps. wowsers. Definitely gonna have to push it harder.

Finally setting up the new PC. Just FYI "Required CD/DVD driver missing" is Microsoft speak for "USB 3 point who?" Thanks for the helpful error messages as always MS.

Nothing like unclogging the roof gutters at 11pm to make you feel more suburban.

I hate waking up early, but so close to the time that I've got to be up anyways that I can't go back to sleep. 5 AM should be outlawed.

Everything is in and hooked up in the new PC. Making a bootable Win 7 USB stick right now since I have no space for an optical drive lol.

Why don't computer fans come with grills any more? I need one and it's becoming clear to me that none of the fans I've ordered over the last 4 years (and there's a lot of them!) came with a grill. WTF?

When you can wake your girlfriend up at midnight to help you dig through misc. parts boxes to find a missing thumbscrew that was packed up some time 3 months ago and she doesn't get mad... that's love.

Have the new computer 98% assembled, and the remaining parts on my desk. I'm just too tired to even want to try finishing it right now. So instead I'll call the day done and take my ass to bed at 8 PM on Saturday. Blah.

So incredibly frustrated right now. 1/4" over-sized subwoofer is causing a ton of drama, compounded by an enclosure I recommended and have since found out is total crap. Like, bad enough I'm trying to shop a replacement for it already, out of my own pocket, because I feel guilty for not having dug a bit deeper to discover this pile of shit before stepping in it.And while I'm on this subject, when did your friendly local audio shop cease being the place you could get a guy to put together a...

GPU and Case both seem to have survived UPS abuse unscathed. Both boxes have crushed corners, punctures, and 12"+ long cuts. Have I mentioned lately how much I despise UPS?

Case & Graphics Card out for delivery today. Assuming UPS hasn't destroyed anything in the process of delivering it I will then have everything but the CPU. Get to build most of a computer this weekend.

3rd night in a row now where I'm stuck in this weird sleep for 2 hours, wake up, sleep for 2 hours, wake up again routine. Tomorrow: Sleeping drugs.

Second night in a row I seem to be on this weird 2 hour sleep cycle. It's not full of win.

Yay for quasi-holidays. 20 minute drive to work.
