I was running a set of type r 6.5 components that I got from a friend for a steal. They're starting to go out on me so I'm looking to redo the set up. I'm looking to spend preferably no more than 200 on the speakers and around 200-250 on the amp. I'm willing to budge a little bit if it's worth the money. I really liked the type rs but if you guys have better suggestions for me I'm always open to those! Thanks guys!

i'm looking at the Rockford Fosgate ps300x2 for the alpines...any thoughts on this amp?
-
I've got the component set figured out I'm just gonna get the type rs again but what about an amp. Ant suggestions for that
-
What information do you guys need?
-
I'm only buying one comp set. As previously stated I was using a dual amp so I need something different and the doors are already sound deadened
-
Do based on the 3 I mentioned which ones would you guys choose or suggest in the price range and what amp would you run on them?
-
I've already taken them out and given them away. The sound quality went down so I'm strictly looking for a new set up at this point
-
They had some holes when I bought them and they've gotten worse that's what I meant by old
-
i'm also looking at maybe getting a set of Polk Audio DB6501's or Incriminator Audio I Series 6.5's. I'll most likely end up going with one of those 3...thoughts? also any amp suggestions? i was previously running on a walmart amp i had laying around, looking to step it up this time around.

They're really old and just need replaced that's all

I met a guy at a competition a few days ago that had some sound deadening tape and I was wondering where i could get some. it wasn't like dynatape that's just the aluminum tape but it actually sound deadening properties. I figured it be nice for a few places in my durango where my sound deadener is too think. Any idea where I might be able to find a product like this? I did a google search and all the ones I have found appear to just be aluminum tape. Thanks guys!
-
I said above...My sunglass holder in my durango rattles a lot so I'm trying to make it rattle less. I tried sound deadner but its too think so I can't shut it with the deadener in.
-
Does the dynatape have sound dampening?
-
i've read that dynatape is literally just aluminum covered tape and is used just for when pieces of dynamat dont line up
-
That's might have been it. I'm just wanting it to put in my sunglasses holder because It rattles horribly and I think my sound deadner is too think so it wouldn't shut
-
I'm sure that's all it was. No he showed it to me. It looked just like sound deadner but in a roll like duck tape. I didn't ask where he got it because I figured I could find it easily online

Sold the sa15s and got a pair of Fi SSDs and must say i'm slightly disappointed. The lows are far better with the fis but the sundowns were far "louder" than the fi's. The box is build to spec and I tuned the amp up and they just can't keep up with the sundowns. I think i'm going to try to trade the ssds and cash for a pair of level 4s.
-
I know I used the L word but the first day I had the ssds they weren't hitting nearly as hard or sounding as crisp as my sundowns. I drove around a bit playing different tracks and then out of now where they "came alive" they have great range, especially lows) the sound quality is phenomenal they are taking every watt i'm throwing on them. I loved my sundowns but these might be my next love!
-
The subs have broken in a bit now and are far louder and better sounding than my sa15s, the low notes on these are crazy!
-
I know I was just giving my review on the subs so far and what I think compared to my sundowns. I'm gonna let these subs "break in" before i make any decisions though

H/O alt or batteries?
Budah93 replied to Budah93's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
All I currently have is the big 3 done, everything else is stock as previously stated I will be doing both but I don't have the money do do both so I have to do one or the other first -
I haven't done much electrical wise in my new suv and came across so unexpected money. I was wondering should I take the money and by two maybe 3 batteries or buy a quality h/o alt. I'm still running the sundown 2500d. If I buy batteries I plan on running an xs d925 under the hood and an xs d3400 in the back. Thanks guys

I have a 99 durango with the overhead console that has the sunglasses holder and it rattles like crazy on the high notes. I was wondering if any of you guys have any suggestions on how to tackle this problem. Thanks
