Small amp recommendations?
frogcase2002 replied to AXEHAMMER's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
could look at the AUDIOPIPE APSM-4080 or APSM-4050 , not the best brand but tiny and about 100 bucks You say not the best brand, i have heard its one of the worst out there. is this true? im sure he would rather spend 200 on something reliable if audiopipebomb is that bad i have had a few audiopipe amps along with others and they are not nearly as bad as people say, most people say that cause there cheap in price, never had the small ones though -
is the last piece done? being sent out soon?

who did the recone?
-
i would go with the gcons
-
i know, i dont understand why, i hope it will be better with new box and ssf set higher
-
cool, sounds good, i love the zcon by the way, its amazing
-
that sucks, do you no how long reconing usually takes there? its been about a month now,,, they should probley say around how long it takes because i probley would have just ordered the recone, hopefully its not to much longer
-
yea think its cause the ssf was way to low
-
dont it say between 4 an 5 cf for the zcon 15
-
does reconing take as long as the subwoofer would take to build?
-
where you put the screws is under the surround,
-
had it to an ap3000 , but way turned down My next question was going to be about your electrical, so thanks for answering. How did you set your gain? My guess is it was probably your ssf setting but I'd hate for you to get a recone and blow it again. The ZCON is hard to destroy, so there was something set wrong for sure. thats what I'm trying to figure out. Because, trust me,when you bottom it out, its hard not to notice. BIG BOOM(pop more accurate) comes to mind when describing it. yes i remember hearing it pop a few times within a week it messed up, was just thinking it was getting to much power, i didnt know to much about the ssf when i installed it

yes forsure, really dont want to go with out agin lol, i love this sub, probley the best iv ever had

yea i think so to cause after it messed up i seen that my ssf was at probley around 15
-
the box i had it in was a little small though, probley around 3 or 3.5 cubes, hopefully my new box im about done with will be alot better, 4.4 cubes turned to 32
-
the voice coil didnt blow, the spider came apart from the voice coil for some reason, wasnt really over powering it or anything
-
i want to learn how to recone at some point, just didnt no at the time and wanted my zcon back working, im going crazy not having my sub in lol
-
what like over a month of them having it?
