Thanks for the reply.

I must add to this post that the STC value of LLP is one of the best values on the market for this level of dampening. Not only that but, the materials used are great. I look forward to using it in the future. If you look at similar products that have the same qualities, they are much thicker and are not very car friendly.

These were send to me per request from SSAudio. These are important numbers to consider for your sound dampening needs. I'm surprised that the website did not publish these. Very comparable with Noisedead.com's Vertex Barrier.

Here are the numbers. From my research of similar products. This is a great STC average for the price, weight, and heat and overall effectiveness. 100: 14 125: 16 160: 13 200: 16 250: 18 315: 19 400: 19 500: 21 630: 23 800: 26 1K: 28 1.25k: 29 1.6k: 31 2K: 33 2.5k: 35 3.15k: 37 4K: 40 5k: 42

Trailblazer door build, 4 x Ascendant 7in Midbass

Is there a difference in sound with the carbon's as opposed to the Poly's. Also, I thought the basket and magnet were going to get reworked and more "car friendly." What tweets is AA using now? -
Need some advice on a sick Alpine amp
JazzScreamer posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Here's my old school Alpine MRV-F352. I used this for about 2.5 years or so and one day the 5th channel when out. The other four-channels still work fine. I've sent a few pics of the damage. Could some one tell me what I should do with this amp. I don't really need it anymore, but I don't think many people would want a 5 channel amp that only has 4 channels that work. The damaged part is in the upper right hand corner. You can see the burn marks just under the model number. Closer pic of the damage Very close image of the damage I don't know very much about amp internals, Would this be a quick and inexpensive fix, or is it just not worth the effort. Thanks! -

I want some of those Mids!!! -
Getting ready to do a little sound deadening this weekend. This is going into an 07 Altima. Do I need to remove any factory deadener that is glued to the floorboard or any other place. I'm not talking about any jute carpet or material that can be easily removed with my hands. I know that some cars have factory carpet/rubber like padding on the floorboards, does this need to get removed or can I just deaden around it? Thanks. Thanks!!! :drink40:

#3. Does the 300 have that much camber in the back wheels?
-
First mount them up in the pillars using some tape or by some other means and see if you like what you hear. Try different angles, heights and crossover points. Not everyone likes what they hear from the a-pillars as far as the stage of things. Mess around with that. I'll try and get some pics up later with some a-pillar installs I've done. What tweets and woofers are you using? Are you running active or passive? These are some questions that will be asked from you by others. I can run you through some fiber glassing tips if you need.

Where and how? -
Has anyone used anything other than the popular Second Skin, Raamat, etc....closed and open cell products with great results. I googled this topic and found several companies proving a wide range of products that have similar claims and prices that vary from the prices on popular car audio products both ways. Just curious. I'm thinking I may try something new.

Sound dampening and absorbing products
JazzScreamer replied to JazzScreamer's topic in General Audio
Nobody? I'm surprised. Well, My feeling is very similar to the mass market of stereo components. Major brands sold by best buy, circuit city and others have some good products to sell, but if your willing to "work" a bit harder to research more products, you can find something that is as good or better and cheaper than what your getting. I'm a DIY guy, help me out. Thanks. -
Most impressed you've ever been with a stereo?

I did a tour of Meyer sound in Nor Cal and all I can say is WOW!!!! We watch part of The Incredibles, Pirates of the Carribean, and a few music recording. The theater in the shop is a fully suspended room that you could only hope for in your dreams. I've never heard anything like this in my life. Sub 20hz that make you insides shake. I really can't explain. Awesome!!!! And it sounded good. Great clearity throughout. Meyer sound kicks butt. -
Ok, I'm an old fart. What is BUMP? Maybe I should know this but......... Help an older guy out. Thanks.

Only you know what you want your system to sound like. Deadening is always worth doing. You'll get the full potential out of your system. -
NEW LAW!!!! (important read) everyone please

Is the real reason to have a system that is extremely loud really for listening purposes or for attention? -

Second Skin Audio needs a dealer in this county. Could make some good money. -

I don't know if you can compare a stock system with one's that have outputs in the 1000's or 10,000's. -

I agree. I hate sitting in my home or in a public place and just hearing BOOM...BOOM, and License plate rattling and such. There is a time and place for everything. I'm all for having a system in the car and having the capabilities to get loud, but you should have respect for those around you. The fines may be a little steep. When I was enlisted, we had a law on base that was similar to what your talking about. If you got caught, your driving privilege on base was taken away. Would really suck to bum a ride to work everyday. -
Is this true? I noticed AA products are not for sale on the site anymore. Can someone give us more info on this? This sucks.
-
I just noticed that SSA does not have AA Subs for sale anymore. Correct me if I'm wrong. What's going on? This sucks.
-
AA is going in the direction of very few options (only coil impedance choice between the coils) of each size/series of drivers. However it is not going to effect the outcome, the quality of the products is still there and is not going to change. The pricing that we will release soon will be competitive for other brand names that the dealers carry. It's just a simple fact that a BTL has a little over 2000 different options that we can do to it, and dealers can't stock 2000 versions of 1 speaker. So, This is where AA is going. It will make the dealers happy, make the end consumers happy because they have a warranty through the dealers on the install, and a solid high end product line for their shops as well... Will prices remain the same as they are for the current lines offered on the SSA?
