John, I won't give you a real long story of my life, but being in the military for some time, I read a great book that keep me in check. The Abs Diet. It's a great read. It's an easy read and it's definately geared toward men. The smoothies are great. That got me to lose some weight. The best thing is that you are NEVER starving yourself. It's not a diet, but a way of life. Drink water. For a guy your height and weight, it should be a gallon a day. This will get your metabolism jump started. The body likes to hold on to as much water as it can especially if your not a water drinker. Is your urine always yellow or orange? A hydrated body urinates with a clear or very slight tinge of yellow in it. Best of luck. Let me know if I can help.

Nope... Parallel. I'm getting a 2ohm load in the end. The Zed Mini wiring diagram suggests connecting both subs separate into the power end of the amp. It has inputs for 2 positives and two negatives. Saying that, I'm not sure that this would make a difference to the amp. I'm actually gonna start over with the box. I think I can improve on the look and build of it after seeing it in the truck.

Ok. So I've hooked up the 8" in a .80cu box sealed (not that that has anything to do with this) and now I'm getting a high pitch beep. I doesn't happen when I have the original sub hooked up though. What's going on. Could it be my wiring job that's giving me Sh!t or is it the subs. I'm so close to finishing and now this. Any suggestions?

The 8's I have are the first that Chad made with AA. There a few years old. NIB.

Two votes for the 8's. Great!

Hey Guys, I have two 10" Arsenals(Gen. previous to the current model) in my truck at the moment and will actually be down sizing things in the near future with a pair of 8" Assasins. I just bought a home and was thinking that I might be able to use the Arsenals in the Home theater. The room is approx. 12' X 20'. I do have a Dayton 1000W sub amp I bought from Parts express to use. Would size box would I use and how low can I tune the box. Help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Hey guys. I'm trying to finish this before tomorrow and I'm stuck with part of the crossover schematic. I know his may be simple, but I think I'm thinking too much. I have the tweet part figured out. My problem is with the woofers. Question: Do I solder the 14.0mH, 8.0mH, and the 1.5mH leads together? Do the other leads on the inductors (14.0mH, 8.0mH, and the 1.5mH) get connected to the (-) end of things. In general, I'm confused about wiring the woofers on this crossover. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think it will actually put out that much power, but caution will be applied. -

Woulds these specs allow me to use the subs in home theater. There will be little music use for this in the house. I figured since I had them I would ask if I could get them into the house and have them sound good. I'm looking for a good low tuning. The current sub I have is an 8" Orb Audio sub thats tuned to 28hz. The sub does great for it's size and power, but now that I have a bigger room, I need more. I really want an IB system in the house, but this will have to wait at least 6months. Any suggestions on a path I can take? -

Base Pay= $1347.00 This will likely increase a bit at the first of the year. This is pay without dependents. Everything else will vary greatly. Where they are stationed and also if the child is living with them, paying child support, ank after basic training and such. The best of luck to you!!!

I just got my hands on a 04' Kicker 15" L7. Some girl was gonna throw this away in the dumpster, so I asked if I could have it. Anyway, I hooked this up to my Zed Mini and it powers up just fine. One thing I did notice is that there is a bit of cone noise (distortion) as if the cone is breaking up. Everything on the sub looks great. The surround spider and tinsel leads all look very new. Is this a normal thing for these subs? I'm not familiar with this model. I'll probably sell it in the near future if it's in good working condition. Any suggestions about my concerns? Thanks.

Well, there hasn't been very many threads on the Zed, so I just wanted to put one out. Seriously though, has anyone heard of any updates on any new lines. I know Steve was planning on something in the near future, and wanted to know if anyone has heard anything.

So I've noticed my system makes makes a sound like bacon sizzlin' on a pan when I go from 0 to 1 on the volume knob. It's not noticable at normal listening volumes, but I'm sure it's still present in the signal. I was wondering if this should concern me.

Sizzlin' Bacon

I will check for the bacon on the amp. Thanks guys I will do the checks. -
Well I'm still looking to find out if anything is wrong with this sub. It really doesn;t look like it. The surround, cone, spider etc. are all solid. I wanted to test the Voice Coils, but I'm not exactly sure how to do it with a multimeter. It's a dual 4ohm set-up. This is what I got. Is this correct? Also, could the cone break-up noise be because I was under powering it when I listened to it? I had it on a Zed Mini that only pushes 480 watts into 2 ohms and the gain was only half way up. Sorry if these are dumb questions.

Old School Amp Crossover HELP!
JazzScreamer posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Hey guys, I have an old school RF amp. I believe it's a 25.2 Punch (All Grey with the side mounted fins). It has the card on the back of the amp to switch between full/ low and high pass. Does anyone recall the crossover points to this model? -

Your correct with the x-over points. I'm still confused on the physical aspect on how to change the card x-over points to what i would like. I did read the manual that explains it but still not sure how to go about this. I appreciate the help. -
Does anyone know the STC numbers for the Luxury Liner and Pro? I would like to compare this with other products. Thanks

I like how the back side of the port is painted white. This is great attention to detail.

Some very good points. I'm glad you posted this.
