That's precisely what I did, and us victims have banded together to attack with unity... hahaha. Turns out the guy had another account on the site, "selling" 4 Collosuses and an Fi BTL as well!!! Another user was sucked in by that, bringing the total up to 5 of us. Beware of usernames "FiKingPin, BassInYourFace, and celingleung", and email addresses "[email protected]", and "[email protected]" Somebody was able to track the IP to a physical address in Etobicoke, Ontario. The IP was also associated with a few email addresses with names in them that matched the name on the paypal account - last name "Mazza". We think it may be a young guy at his parents' house. One of the the members of our "task force" has emailed all the accounts associated with the IP, outlining the entire situation and the options for dealing with it: By tomorrow, this person must 1) Give us back our money in full or 2) Send us the items we paid for, or 3) Do nothing (and we will involve the authorities). The same member that sent the email is related to a policeman in the area who said he definitely wouldn't mind paying a visit if need be. I grow more optimistic by the hour. Were pulling for you.

I just wanted to post this to see what some people are using. I didn't want to do a poll or anything because this could vary. I'm currently using some Streetwire Z2 series in the truck. They seem to do the job. I'm thinking I may replace them with something else in the future. So tell me what you've got. Thanks

As was stated in another thread, Zed is running low on his 12V line of amps. Can we expect another run for his current line (Deuce, Minilith, etc..) in the near future. I'm a great fan of what Steve does and would wait a few months or so. Do we know if the company os going another direction, or will the car audio amps still be part of Zed Audio. I'm not trying to start and rumors or stir up anything, I would just like to know if I need to wait patiently or find another amp to run my 12V needs. Long live ZED!!!!!

When your talking about SUB bass, I don't think you would be concerned about anything above the 50hz ish range (especially in an 18" driver). Some purist would even think 50hz is too high for Sub Bass.

Shawn, Yes I did do this myself. It's amazing what you can do with fiberglass (this was my first attempt at glassing). The enclosure is an IB. I would like to try a sealed enclosure with it someday, but space is really tight. The top driver's magnet is touching the metal body of the door, and the bottom AA fits nicely inside the factory hole. I've thought of cutting some of the sheet metal to make an enclosure, but don't know if it's even worth it. This took a lot of time and effort to come up with the design to fit 2 AA Poly's in that space. I think it worked out really well. I've had lots of complements about it. I took a lot of detailing on this sucker because of the tight fit and curves. Mucho 1000grit sandpaper. The suspension holds up to the low crossover point in this IB setup very well and the carbon fiber is a laminate film I bought on Ebay. I don't know if you noticed but the hump on the sub boxes were put there to allow me to flush mount the subs to gives me as much clearance as possible. I have a good 2.5" or 3" space. Gotta let the sub breath. I hope you don't mind, but I posted a few more pics of the build. Pantyhose work really well to conform to small complex shapes like this. There are many steps in between these pics that I didn't post. Thanks for the compliments guys. Chad had a lot to do with the inspiration for this pod. Maybe when the new POLY's come out, I can do another glass job in my wife's car. That's another thread though.

I would post your problem and this guys' info on some other Audio forums. We don't need someone to get screwed by this guy again. Sorry this had to happen to you. I hope it all works out in the end.

That just might work. It would be more money, but we'll see when the time comes.

So what does this mean to the average JOE? I like reading about all the tech stuff that is involve in the making and tweaking of speakers, but you've lost me with all this tech talk. Is there a way you can explain this for the majority of the people on the forum. By the way, it's great to read stuff like this on the forum. It tells me that some people know what they are talking about, unlike most other forums, where all the concern is..... Is it louder? What's the MAX wattage I can put into this Sub? Not my cup of tea, but I've been there. (late 80's..Mustang hatchback and 2 15'' MTX subs...crazy times)Maybe age has caught up with me. What Scott is basically describing is decreasing both the inductance and inductance variation. The lower inductance is usually good for better transient response (meaning better top-end performance with what is usually considered a more "accurate" or "quicker" sound). The lower inductance variation is good for decreasing distortion. Overall, inductance only counts for roughly less than 10% of the total distortion product (which is why he mentioned there would be no magical changes) but it is a logical improvement to be made. Thanks for the reply Scott. Much appreciated. Got it. Makes total sense now.

So everyone is excited about what new subs are going to be coming out in the next few weeks. This is great and all and I'm very excited myself (chad can attest to this). I was wondering if any new smaller speakers will be added to the Arsenal (get it Arsenal). I really enjoy the POLY's that I have and was just wondering if any new speakers may be coming out along with the subs.

Songs that get YOU pumped
JazzScreamer replied to CBFryman's topic in Computers / Electronics / Music / Games
The Mars Volta. This gets me pump to work out. Cedric, Adrain and I go way back. I used to play in a band with Adrian back in the day. If you haven't heard them, you need to. If your looking to abuse your system (minus really low sub freq) this is the stuff for you. M5///- "Hub Tones" by Freddie Hubbard -
I was going for the Draconia for my wife's car. I LOVE that amp. The crossovers, looks and overall build of that is incredible. So now I'm looking elsewhere. Thinking Sundown, but don't like the crossover network. I'm a fan of the steep slope. What do you guys think I can get in a 4 cahnnel for about the same $$, quality, warrenty? Thanks guys!!!!!

I TOTALLY AGREE. Price and quality will be worth it. I feel dumb that I didn't mention that. Sorry Chad.

ideas for rear fill in the mini
JazzScreamer replied to pimpedout97x's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
If you don't like that, you could always run a pair of AA POLY's as rear fill (no Tweeter) Your not going to get great highs, but you can definately get a good top end of 8-10k before a steep roll -off and some killer midbass. And there cheap. And Chad is (has) made a car friendly version too. And I hope they come out soon because I need at least 4 of them. -
SQBubble, The POLY's can get loud. I have them running from 50hz -3k. The midbass is killer IMO. Having them crossover that low really brought the sound stage forward. When I had them at around 60hz, I still felt like the subs were behind me. That lower x-over point helped my problem and having a pair of them in each door really makes a difference. I did have a single POLy in there before and was great, but the second one add so much depth to that range. I would reccomend it if you have the room and power. It's good to know that there are some people out there that like that part of the spectrum. Midbass ROCKS!!!! Nice Arsenal and Havoc.

Like the topic says. If I'm going for a good SQ out of a sub, does the sound quality suffer if I'm running them at a lower ohm load like 2, 1 or .5ohms (as opposed to 4ohms). I'm looking to start up my wife's car with a SQ system and want to match subs and amps for good sq. Thanks guys.

So I got bored and took my Orb Audio sub out of its' enclosure and noticed holes in the cone down by the spider. Why is this? Iv'e never seen it before or heard of doing this. Anyway, Here are some pics of this little bad boy. It's not a bad sub for an 8". It acts more like a 10" or 12". I wish the extension was a bit lower but this is just my game room setup. Here it is next to my AA assasin that I've still yet to install. Not sure IF I want to build an enclosure for two of these in the game room or put them in my wife's car. Decisions...decisions!!!!!

I hope so. I've heard great things about it. The 6.5's will still be available and I know that Vifa is still producing the XT25's. Who knows, maybe Chad will surprise us with something else.

I don't have any experience with that sub. The AA sub can handle a bit more than the 150w it asks for. You can probably put about 300w to this and be fine if it's in a sealed box. It's very accurate and has plenty of punch to it. There are plenty of people on this forum that have used this sub before so you might want to ask around. Hopefully more people will respond to this for ya. Good luck and let me know if if you need anything else.

Ventilation was my first guess. This little sucker has a pretty soft suspension and claims to have a 111db max on it. I must say that it can get pretty loud considering.

SQ for subs
JazzScreamer replied to JazzScreamer's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Would it be safe to say that a Sundown amp running a 1ohm load is clean power? -
Looks good. Glad to see someone else use that space underneath the seats. I have 2 AA Arsenals under my seats in a .75 sealed box and love them. I'm sure yours will sound great also. The amp rack in the middle will look good to. I put my Zed Draconia in the same spot. Good luck

I'm confused...Why would you want 2ohm POLY's? I know some reasons, but could you explain your set up for a 2ohm midbass/midrange set-up.
-
Thanks for the info Scott. Would you happen to know if the new Poly's would have a different mounting depth. It would be great to have just a slightly smaller mounting depth as to all install in many more places. I could of sure used that in my lastest intall.
