Don't be afraid to use a lower crossover point. Especially if you have a 3rd or 4th order slope. I have mine at 50hz and I really like it, but that is totally up to the listener.

kool. i may need to buy another pair...cuz like my right mid is making funny noises OH AND I HOPE THEY FIX THAT DANG LONG TINSEL LEAD!

I'm hoping that there a bit more shallow. This would open the market up even more and would allow the Poly's to fit in much tighter places. We'lll see soon I hope.

Three-Way system in the future

I did think that the weight could be an issue. So any suggestions of where to go with this? I'm a bit stumped right now. -
Three-Way system in the future

Here is another idea I had. I checked again for the size of speakers I could use and I can go bigger than a 7". As a matter of fact, I mocked up my 8" Assasin in the door to see if it would fit. Here is a pic of the door (again) Here is Assasin up against the door. I have enough depth for the Assasin in the door. I understand that if I go this way that the door would need to be very well dampened. The door really lends itself to this process. I can take the middle portion of the door apart so I can really get the door dampened and sealed. I would have to rebuild the bottom half of the door to accomodate an 8" sub. Lucky for me the bottom portion can be seperated from the rest of the door. As for a midbass/midrange driver, I was wanting to install an AA Poly just above the sub (it would not be part of the enclosure for the sub) and the tweet would go in the top portion of the door where it meets the a-pillar. Any opinions on this setup? I know it's not the norm, but I thought I would throw the idea out on the forum and get some opinions. This would be an active setup and would be used for SQ purposes. -
Noise to get rid of: It's mostly exhaust noise and also my new electric fans. I have a aftermarket cat back system with a Flowmaster muffler. I have deadened the truck with two layers of fatmat in the doors with ensolite and one layer of deadening on the floorboard for the most part ( a few parts have a second layer but not much). As far as my firewall not so much. This will have to be the place to fill. I will try that first. I was also thinking of replacing the padding on the floorboard with aftermarket jute or Thermozite. This stuff looks much better than the factory jute. http://www.yourautotrim.com/carpetpadding.html. Maybe a layer of ensolite on top of that may help also.

I'm looking to reduce a bit of the noise from under the hood. Can I use raamat BXT or secondskin's Damplifier underneath the hood for this application. Also, is there anything else that I could use or should along with one of those products. This is for my GMC Sierra 04. Thanks guys!!

Just wondering if anyone has had any updates about the release of AA's new line. I know that the projected date is around July 4th, but I also know that things change. Thanks.

I spoke with Chad over an e-mail early this morning. Everything seems to be going good and he expects that his new products will be out in less than a month. I guess the July 4th date is about right.

Recommend SQ speaker wire and interconnects

What the hell would a 7-way speaker consist of. Pretty slick thread though. -
I guess this means no.

Would love to read a review of the audible differences on the two Gladius with and without the Burr Brown Chip. -
I would highly recommend the ZedGladius. I own the Draconia that runs my front stage: 2 Pair AA POly's and pair of CDT Tweets. There is plenty of power for the setup and I'm sure will be more than enough for your components. The Gladious offers a bit more power per channel than the Draconia and still has great active crossover flexibility. If your looking for great SQ I would recommend the Burr Brown Chip. Well worth the money. G ood Luck!!!

I have trouble opening some of the files on Zed's website. It's mainly the TECH files where Zed explains Components, Amp Classes, Cables, etc... I can open the first few files up to "Components", then I'm not able to click and view the PDF or word file. Anyone know what I can do?

Is this SQ just for when you watching movies or does it sound just a good with music?

Three-Way system in the future
JazzScreamer replied to JazzScreamer's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I don't have a pic right now, But the factory speakers in the dash are 4". They are tucked at the corners of the windshield like most vehicles that have speakers in that location. Does that help? -

I do have an opening deep in the dash. Do you think this could be a possible locationfor a mid or tweet. I do understand that I won't get the perfect setup by just theorizing what would be best location till I mock the speakers up. Any suggestions as far a actual speakers in the sizes I mentioned? -

Good numbers, especially for the condition of the box.

Three-Way system in the future

I was thinking of putting them next to the door handles. Above the Midbass and below the tweets. A cutout and glassing would be involved. What do you think? -
CD stuck in factory HU
JazzScreamer posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Just got a call from my dad and he's been having problems with his OEM HU and Cd's getting stuck. Chevy Silverado 2005. Can someone help me with this situation and also provide info on how to prevent this from happening. Thanks!
