91 Turbo Civic, SounDigital 16KD, 4 15 BTL N2s Walled
KyleBrown replied to 16K's topic in Build Logs
I don't think the car is going to last much longer lol -
Alot depends on the excursion. A 3" coil on these baskets will effectively have more throw than a 4" coil, pending the surround. Cone depth too.

SSA's Evil SS Camaro. 4 Evil 15s and 2 DC 7.5ks
KyleBrown replied to stevemead08's topic in Build Logs
Maybe like a 4-5 depth, nice and round would be perfect. Some people tune port according to rise, some to peak... Good luck -
you're gonna rip that car apart

cool video, excursion clips would have been better lol

I love those concave caps.

I've fought two tickets and won. One was in an industrial area, like concrete plants etc. Same rules applied, 10pm to 7am. Next one was on highway outside of city limits in which no noise laws apply. I say fight it. Until there's law to quite bikes, cars, trucks, semi's etc, I think it's a law that shouldn't be enforced on a select few. Granted don't do the shit in a neighborhood. There's a fucker who goes down my road every night, as soon as the Blazer is built, I'm going to park in front of his house a fawk his shit up.

How is this going to fit? Are you building in the back seat? I say no higher than 38hz daily.

1. Product: Custom 18" sexual submoofer 2. Specs: D1 2500rms, heavy 3. Description/Condition: Used but still in sexy condition. Zv3 soft parts with a D1 coil. Fully loaded ufo btl motor. 6 spoke 18" basket. Over sized terminals too. Triple joint collar as well. This coil is a little longer than the stock btl coil and it is also a little thicker. So you're looking at a slightly higher xmax and lower fs. This sub(I had two) plays lower and sounds much better than my stock BTL's did. I was quite pleased how these turned out. 4. Price: : 300+ actual shipping. Not a dime will come out of my pocket for shipping. You'll have an easier time finding bigfoot This sub tips the scale right at 66lbs iirc. So you'll be looking at a 70+ pound package. Which will be 20x20x18 from 39503, so get your own quote please. I will ship insured for full shipped value. Trades, D3400 you add cash, D3100 I'll add 15 bucks. I will also consider xs or xp flex spools of 0ga. Or a new style IA40.1 in which I'll add cash, but I'll have to wait till the 1st for that. 5. Pictures: 10ga knu

Pointless post? Read the title; "Beware! Skar Audio poor customer service" I posted this because had I known what I metioned earlier, I never would have purchased Skar product from the beginning. The point is to warn current and potential future customers what to expect when trying to contact them for support. NO RESPONSE! I wish I had seen a post like mine before I bought Skar audio because I would have stayed away from it. I did get lucky though and like my VVX15s and the way they sound. I just hope they never need service work done cause they likely will be throw aways now with no one answering the phone and not even Email support from Skar audio. BTW yes some specs are posted on the website but the full T/S paramers specs on the website are incomplete, which is why I was trying to contact them in the first place. Don't get all bent man. Not every company posts or releases TSP's.

that's crazy bright. How do you like those tweets?

Very true. Install goes a long way. Period. I'd love to hear swifts truck. I've only heard a single sp4 15 on maybe 3k. I enjoyed it. I'd like to hear them with different spiders though. I think there's a little more to be had out of them. I still want to do a build with some 5200 motors.
-
I don't know if it is pointless. Bill just wants Kevin to do what he says he is going to do. Bill gave Kevin a chance and wants to do another build with skar products, but when Bill ask for technical info he feels he is being ignored. I hear ya. Side note, you should email Jacob for tech info on skar drivers
-
I've heard great and horrible reviews about them.
-
nice build you have going man
-
Well not many people here like skar lol. But shit happens. honestly seems like a pointless post... thought specs were posted up online?

I was comparing prices the "average" consumer would pay....no shipping for you, but I'd have to pay it so it factors in ;)/> Mark & Aaron generally apply a DAF to their power ratings....they are conservative. On the other hand we don't know how the power handling of the SHD was rated. In reality you aren't necessarily comparing apples to applies. Still curious how the "price to performance doesn't seem to be there" when you're comparing it to a sub of equal price (shipping included) that won't even release TSP? Doesn't seem like you're able to compare price to performance when one driver was just released and the other driver has almost no information available on it. I fully understand what you're saying. But in my original statement I said "I" which is entirely what I meant. I myself. So the shipping to you thing is irrelevant to me. I'm sure the Evil is underrated but the SHD is as well. I'm sure the Evil is going to be a great driver that won't disappoint end users. The ultra and pro subs aren't really comparable here. Ultras are not over built in the least, you can ask stovebolt6. They're great low end SQ drivers. If you could build the ultra with better soft parts aside from the coil, you'd have a monster on your hands which I'm sure would keep up with these other big boys and probably sound better doing it. Well come close to keeping up.
