I didn't know about the pole piece. I read the sticky but didn't realize they plugged the whole thing up, that's why i asked.

Why is she plugged up?

Just got my BTLs. My first 18" subs. My old system was (4) 15" SSDs.

I tried searching for G31 Intimidators, and apparently the 9A31 is a G31 even though it says A31... is this right or where can i find some g31s? My link before didn't work, i was thinking of getting these: http://www.remybattery.com/Products/Deka-I...9A31__9A31.aspx

Thanks for the suggestions. I wanted to stick with yellow tops for aesthetic reasons. I did not know they made a G series, didn't see them listed on their site. I didn't find them for sale either when i did a quick google search. I'm now thinking about just getting 2 DEKA Intimidator 9A31 batteries. Hopefully 2 of those along with the yellow top i have now will suffice. I'll just keep an eye on the batteries and hook them up to a charger if my alt can't seem to keep up.

Thanks for the suggestions. I would like to stick with yellow tops though. I already have one of their commercial version batteries: Cold Cranking Amps 900 Cranking Amps 1125 Reserve Capacity 155 Capacity (C/20 rate) 75 and i was planning to get 2 more smaller versions, probably: Cold Cranking Amps 620 Cranking Amps 770 Reserve Capacity 100 Capacity (C/20 rate) 48 I doubt I would listen to it full tilt for 30 minutes. I don't compete either, this is a daily driver.

I'm planning to run 2 sax-100.2s and 2 saz-3000s strapped at 2 ohms. I have a 200 amp excessive amp alt and i'm attempting to make a bracket so i can also use my stock alt but i'm not sure if i'll succeed in that. Is it recommended to run 2 alts with 2 saz-3000s or would my one 200 amp alt be fine? I'd like to limit the amount of batteries to 1 under the hood and 3 in the back. I'm a little tight on space. Is this alright or would i have to use more? My last system consisted of 2 saz-1500s. Using my 200 amp alt, 1 battery under the hood, and 1 in the back I didn't seem to have any problems at all. Just wondering how much i need to upgrade my electrical to handle 2 saz-3000s.

I have a really big van. Plenty of space for a huge ported box, so i should be able to underpower the subs a little. I'm hoping a bunch of MJs will be louder than the (4) 15" FI SSDs i have now. A pair of saz-1500 strapped were tested to do 3740 watts at 12.8 volts. A single MJ-18 is rated 600 watts rms (6) 8 ohm MJs could be wired to 1.34 ohms (8) 8 ohm MJs could be wired to 1 ohm Can I do more in a huge ported box or should i just keep my SSDs?

The site says 3-4 cuft for 1 15" SSD in a ported box tuned to 33hz. Could i squeeze 4 15" SSDs into a 10 cuft box? Tuned to 33hz with 165 square inches of port area. Maybe I could just use 3 15" SSDs in that box. I'd think 3 SSDs on 3500 watts should be significantly louder than 2 on 1800 watts. I just don't want to have to upgrade again. I went from audiobahn < type r 12" < 2 ssd 15" Want my next system to be more than enough...

Thanks for the help. I do have a hard top, with second skin sound deadener. I put 2 layers of Damplifier, a layer of Overkill, and a layer of Heat Wave on my hard top and then fiberglassed over the deadener so i could upholster it. I will try 4 SSDs sealed on 2 sundowns. Thanks for the help!

I currently have 2 SSD 15s (with copper coils) in my jeep wrangler. I have them in a ported box but they just arn't loud enough for me. They're on a sundown 1500d and i have another sundown sitting around waiting to be used. I'm wondering if 4 SSD 15s in a sealed box would be louder than 2 in a ported box. I don't think i have enough space to put 4 in a ported box. Would 6 SSD 15s be noticeably louder than 4? With 2 i can give them more power than they can handle. With 4 they'll probably get about 750 rms each. With 6 they'll probably get about 500 rms each. Is the increase in cone area worth the decrease in power per woofer? I'm planning to make a fiberglass box so i think i'll be able to squeeze 6 in my wrangler. Would be sweet to look inside a tiny jeep and see 6 huge subwoofers...
