  10. ok im making my first attempt at a custom box. its for 1 sd12 in the trunk of a honda accord planing on sub facing back and ports facing up to go through the rear deck. plywood (no mdf at local building store) 3/4 inch depth 18" w 20" h 14" port (1) L 12" dia.3 if my calculations are right box is 2.21 ft3 tuned to 34.15 sub displacement is .10 so that should net me a 2.11ft3 box (damn i hate math) am i anywhere close? or even headed in the right direction? any input would be great cause right now its in a cookie cutter Q-logic box (1.5 ported and its starving for air) thanks guys and gals

    building first "tuned" box

thanks im using round ports cause its just a temp build (getting a different car soon) and wanted to try my hand at design and building (that didnt go well) guess when i get my zcons ill pay for a design due to space limits ill have to go 18x18x17high but it should work fine

    building first "tuned" box

ok the final size if i have it right are w 32 h 17 depth 14 1 port 12" (3 external) dia 6" should be tuned to 36.59 but that increases my box volume to 3.73 ft3 will that be an issue cause sundown recommends (ported 2 ft3)

    1zcon12 vs 2xcon10's

ok guys heres the deal i was thinking of trying to go to some localish iasca competitions. i have never competed before and was wondering for the first class its 1-160 sq in. so my basic question is do i want 1 12inch zcon (113.4 sq in.) or should i go with 2 10 inch xcons (157sq in.) my thought is with the 2 10 inch xcons (1 ohm) on a saz3500 both would be in the biggest box that will fit my trunk tuned to 34hz all the math works out but i just wanted to know if i was on the right track before i spend like 2 grand then have it be the wrong set up to compete. any input would be nice but if you are /was in this class tips would help any more info needed just ask (sorry but i never planed anything like this before)
