I know I have a car audio addiction when......
Jason Witt replied to Aaron Clinton's topic in General Audio
You smell adhesives and wood glue more that food. -
So in this video was my stock alternator. Got my H.O. back so I will repost the same tune so you can see the difference a beefy alternator makes for bass. I am just amazed.

That hair is loud for sure..

I have two 12'' Mayhem's, and they get down and loud.

Mayhems are some nasty subs. Mine shred my car apart. Nice flex man..

No vids of the install, but I do have some pictures. I am starting my wall here in a few months. 2 18'' Mayhem's, I will get vids and pics of this next build. Right now, it is a forward firing setup with the trunk sealed from cabin. Enclosure is tuned @32hz.

Possible problem with electrical system.
Jason Witt replied to Hzd Skizzy's topic in Automotive and Performance
I had a similar issue, ended up being a stuck brush in my alternator. -
The problem could be your amplifier, or a bad connection. Also, firing forward without having the trunk sealed could effect your output as well. Troubleshooting will most likely lead you to the issue. Check everything.

Wired down that low will most likely do that amp in. The first hard bass note will throw it into protect, or worse. -
In my experience, no matter what type of woofer you use, PA sub or not, you will never be satisfied with the sound from a kick drum unless you process the signal to the sub amp. It took me years to develop the sound I was looking for. Had I known to process the signal, I would have saved time and money.

Mine are tuned to right around 40hz. If you are looking for that "PUNCH" from the kick, like me, you will need some sort of processor. I use a Peavey Kosmos V.2

Eminence makes awesome PA subs. That's what I run, and I also play drums for a couple bands. Typically you will find PA sub enclosures will be smaller, slightly higher tuning to prevent muddy, sloppy response. Hope that helps.

runing rca for 6 amps
Jason Witt replied to SamuelHermon's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would also consider a line driver as well for clean signal to so many amps. -
I'd say hello, but looks as if you have already been greeted.

I can't say enough positive things about this alternator besides it was a wise decision to go with Mechman. I bought this unit for a fairly large power hungry system, but it has improved so many other electronic functions of my car. Thanks for a great product and excellent customer service. Keep up the good work!

How would these batteries do?
Jason Witt replied to djtomczak's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I believe those are 24v batteries. Could be wrong, but usually dozers run 24v for hydraulics and such. -
I messed up maybe
Jason Witt replied to nutxo's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I bought a 270a HO direct bolt application, and had to get a smaller belt. -
Best customer service I have dealt with. Fast shipping, and great products!

A car cover would be a pain in the ass covering/removing everyday. I found a cheap metal carport kit that I am going to put together and use. Birdshit is very acidic, and will eat clear coat and fade paint if it's just left on your ride for those who do not know this already.

Since this will be my first time doing a forward firing setup in a trunk car, I need advice and opinions for the best way to seal the trunk from the cabin. Thanks Guys
