any tips for finding a good ground without a dmm?
Jason Witt replied to krb1991's topic in General Audio
I would drive to the closest audio shop before you have nothing to drive at all. -
Amplifier volume?

Clamp test your amplifiers output. -
I am going to be walling off my car soon and wanted some opinions on which subs to run. I really want either 2 15'' Zcons or just recone my Mayhem's to 15's. This will be a low and nasty setup with tuning around 30-33hz with 5k of power. I am not worried about number scores, I just like my bass loud and low. I know either one would get the job done, just fishing for input.

Could I run this at a 1/4Ω ?
Jason Witt replied to Mtxplod's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I wouldn't try that unless you have another amp to replace this one. -
I am just gathering input because I am torn here. I know both subs get down, but this will be the last build in my car and just wanted opinions. I have yet to hear a Zcon, so I am just unsure.

I do already have the motors, but the Zcon's are looking good to me.

Sounds bad ass man.

Hummers are nice when they are in the form of a woman's mouth.

I am getting some dampening soon. The striker bolt itself is noticeably worn from the abuse. The plate is fine, I don't think the bolt is worn enough to have to replace.

I am having major issues with my rear doors opening about 3/4 inch every time my bass hits. It's actually starting to dent the jams and chip the paint. On top of that it is loud and I can't figure out a way to solve this issue since I need the doors to remain functional. Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think they design to account for extreme amounts of sound pressure. The car has been really solid since I bought it new. That is concerning. At this point I am just going to try different things until something works well enough to call it good.

I thought about trying to tighten the mechanism or something to that nature. I just don't want to mess it up anymore than the problem is now.

It has gotten worse since this video.

This is happening with my SRT-4 Neon. I'm not sure. It's pretty violent, I don't know how that would hold up. I have thought about that too.

It was never metered. He blew his car up two weeks after it was finished. I did everything how he wanted it. The enclosure was tuned @ 40hz. I prefer low tuning as well, but it was his money.

Looks great!

I have more builds I will post in the near future.
