None of my subs work despite different setups
Jason Witt replied to mlcantin's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have seen several instances where peoples rca's get pinched, sheathing cut, the ends short out. Out of this whole thread the SIGNALING seems to be the issue. It is very possible one of the above scenarios quite possibly could have happened to you. It could be a loose wire somewhere at the subs, but I doubt it. -

Then it should read right around 2v then. -

What is the preout signal voltage rated for on your head unit? That's where it should measure at. -

Try an MP3 player for a different source, or a dmm to check the voltage in the rca's ran from your head unit. -

Run a different signal source to your amp to see if it's your head unit failing. -

Mitek owns MTX and they are out of Wisconsin. -

And then.... lol And then I used it for a couple years and sold it. I don't think it had much longer left to live. -

I have had a few MTX amps and they always did a pretty good job. -

Broken Speaker Wire Input
Jason Witt replied to Budah93's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Did you purchase this new or used? -
I'm tuned in for this one!

There are three loads to choose from with these subs. Half ohm, two ohm, or eight ohms. (If you have all six subs.)
-
I can't view them either.
-
That amp will be fine for that sub. I'm not a big fan of JL, so I have never owned one to give you any further information.

Great excursion!

I think your sticker is ruined. Was the glass cold, did you press each letter on firmly?
-
Clean the glass really well peel the backing and apply like any other vinyl sticker.

i was thinking about getting a volt meter for that reason. Is that a good idea or a waist of time? volt meter for what? well a lot of people hook them up to THE amp so they no for sure the volts arnt dropping Volt meters should be connected to the battery with a fused lead and chassis ground. They are a waste of time and money unless you are running large amounts of power IMO.

Amplifier Noise Issue
Jason Witt replied to Maddenkid2011's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I had a similar issue once. I switched my grounding location and it solved my mysterious noise problem. -
The truck looks nice!
