I assume it is sealed as well. A ported enclosure would yield more output from either sub. I doubt one would be louder than the other in your box. How much power do you have running your sub?

Home audio sub built into sectional couch *idea*
Jason Witt replied to stiffler style's topic in Home Audio
Why not just do a basic sub setup with an enclosure separate from the couch? I think it would be a waste trying to incorporate a sub inside the couch. Your budget would get you a very nice powered 15'' woofer. -
Stersom... Opinions

I stay away from those amps, but that is just my personal opinion. -
Electrical for SAZ 2500

Yes I would also advise against running it at .5 simply because it isn't covered under warranty if it shits out which is very likely if you push it too far. -
Electrical for SAZ 2500

You are looking at 250 amps of draw so a good alternator and an extra battery should be sufficient. -

Looks like some decent wire.

I just noticed you are from STL. Nice, i'm an hour away from you. I like both subs honestly, and it would be a tough decision for me.

There is no way i'd run just one brand of gear. I'd also pay bills with $5,000 if that were an option.

Hope you have a good heater, if so use it. That's my advice.

Need more info on strapping..

Your sub should be wired @2 ohm for a 2 ohm load. You do not have that option with a single woofer with a D2 coil. -

You probably unloaded your sub. A lesson learned the hard way. We have all had them. -
That is a massive port! Kudos for braving the cold in the name of bass!

http://www.audiopipe.com/support/manuals/files/APSM-1500_eng.pdf Not too hard to find the manual. I would read the entire thing. -
Do you need to leave stock cables connected?
Jason Witt replied to DanP's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I left my stock cables in place, just disconnected the stock charge line at the alternator. -

Check your connections, especially your grounds and in line fuse. -

Many learn about clipping when their wallet screams at them for going through so many subs. -
Good start man. Can't wait to see it done.

Subs are really easy to recone. You can do it yourself if you have common sense and can do a little research for a little guidance if you have no clue on where to start. -
Need help!, rear deck mounted blow thru for 2 12" BL's
Jason Witt replied to Ryon Johnson's topic in Fi Technical
You shouldn't try to fire your subs forward unless your seats fold down. There are many steps to take, but you are not providing enough information for us to help you much. The rear window will be fine. I have a forward fired trunk wall in my SRT-4. -
