CSS also has a 12" XBL^2 driver coming out in the fall IIRC (SDX12). They are evaluating prototypes that they received with the first shipment of SDX15s. Anyway, the Havoc looks very interesting. I'll be interested to see complete specs and pricing.

Is 1500 watts too much for an 18" RL-P?
geoffstgermaine replied to deerhunt1988's topic in SoundSplinter
It is most likely going to depend on the excursion of the driver in the enclosure more than on the power handling of the voice coil. -
No, the port length is going to roughly double. More port area -> more port length.

Thanks for the info guys. Thanks for the offer mrray13 but I'm doing a custom install in the Integra so that it blends into the side panels.

I've been considering putting a sub into an '00 Integra. Basically I am looking that I suppose what would be called an SQ sub, in that I am not greatly concerned with SPL as I don't listen to music very loudly and I also would prefer to have a near flat frequency response between across the sub and the main speakers. Ok, so I'm doing a little modeling and one thing has me troubled. I see on the SoundSplinter RL-i8 page that the recommended sealed enclosure volume is 0.2 to 0.65 cu ft with optimal car being 0.5 cu ft. From my modeling I'm coming up with about 0.09 cu ft for a Q=0.7 alignment. Is there some reason that I wouldn't want this sort of alignment in a car? I was wanting something in the 0.5-0.7 range which necessitates an enclosure between 0.1 and 0.2 cu ft. A tiny enclosure is fine with me as I'd prefer to have it as small as possible. Any thoughts?

Great to hear that everything turned out alright in the end. I have a similar story, but it didn't quite make it to the police. I had a $1500 bass amplifier coming a couple of years back when I was a touring musician. So I get an email stating that it has been delivered which I didn't like very much since no one was at home (I was at school at the time). I get home and look around and can't find it. I start getting close to calling UPS and the police when my wife comes in and says there's a big box wrapped up in a plastic bag sitting out in the back by the garbage. Fortunately it wasn't garbage day but I just couldn't believe it. I called UPS and complained. They called me back a couple of days later saying that the driver didn't want to leave it in the front because it was shipped in the original box and so it would be at high risk of being stolen so he dropped it in the back. Our fence is locked from the alley so he just left it beside the gate (which is right next to the garbage). Crazy stuff.

Yeah, that's really the best way to go for larger ports IMO.

How long will the pre-order last?

Yeah, send Mike an email. I just order two RL-P15 D2s (I'm in Canada). Mike is very fast at answering emails.
