I've emailed a few times about getting a recone but I've never got a response. Can anyone help me?
-
Yeah there were a variety of things on there I didn't know which one applied to me. I need a recone for the 05 re xxx in a 12" with dual 2ohm vc
-
I think 4 of these and a SAZ1500....will make my day.....I will get 4 of them and port them!
-
I haven't log onto here at SSA for a long time..... But I just got a SAZ1500 from DB-r today and I am very satisfied with it and with his CS. Cosmetically the amp looks good, there is a scratch on the bottom of it that's all. But besides that I'm very pleased with it, especially with the 1year warranty for $350. You can't even buy one used for $350. I just gotta bust out the DMM on it. The power output is identical to my old RF T10001BD amp.

Don't tell the Fi folks I am thinking of moving away from my 15" BL...lol I've been doing my research on 8" subs, and I think I kinda settled on the RL-i8s. I am thinking of a pair of 8s dual 4ohm, wired for a final load of 4ohm for daily driving so the amp will put out about 750watts at 4ohm. The amp is a RFT10001BD. Do you think both of those subs can handle a total of 1500watts@1ohm? I guess for burps and bass race? How would the subs like it in a ported box at lets say 1.6cuft tuned to 32-35hz? I want to choose this sub over the Kicker L7 8", just because I don't like mainstream subwoofers. And this way I can gain my trunk space back and spare tire!!! That 15" sub took up the whole trunk in my scion tc.
-
The only thing is that I sux at box design. I can cut, glue, put it together but I need someone to give me the right plans for the planned subs. Right now with that 15" BL I only got 140.5db@43hz at the dash on a TL car off. I know box design is everything.
-
Yeah, I think 8s are crazy! I did the 15" in my Scion because no one has done it, or very few has done it. Now I have no trunk space and the novelty has wore off. Now if I can work a pair of 8s into the 40s that would be awesome, I know it can be done but it has to be done with the right box.
-
I am not sure, all I remember is on the VC itself you have written RE SX on it. Ahhh actually come to think about it I remember when I did first get the SX I had it in a 1.5cuft box and it sounded like shhhh...t Back to the drawing boards.

I know, I know there is no definite answer at all to this question. Again I know!!! LOLOL Currently running a 15" BL w/ a RF T10001BD amp. Ok loud not the greatest but the best I can do with my limited trunk space of a scion tc. I whined before here about loosing my trunk space currently! I am sitting here and out the corner of my eye sits a 12" RE SX sub that I just reconed with Fi parts. Originally with that RE SX sub it was in a 2.0cuft box tuned to 32hz and I hit 139db with a TL mic (amp running at 2ohm so roughly 900-1000watts). With my current box with that 15" it sits in a 3.5cuft box, and I don't have my spare tire anymore or any trunk space! With the 15" BL I got a 141db w/TL mic. mehh. Question is, what do you think that 12" in a 1cuft sealed box (poly fill) and seeing "on a good day" 1500watts (if i'm lucky with my electrical) what kind of numbers can I see? Low huh? What have ya guys seen personally that people have got with a 12" in a smalled sealed box hit? In this way I am trying to look for the best of both worlds...and I can regain my trunk space back.

Driving home from work today minding my own business, turning onto another road. Went to give it some gas....hmmm car not moving, look down at gauges ok well everything is at zero....hmmmkay. Stereo still running, ac fan still running. Ahhh tried to start the car while moving but it didn't start......Stop the car, looked around puzzled, looked back in my mirror I see a little smoke, look at the hood oh there is more smoke. First thing that popped to my mind I have no fire extinguisher, and second thing that popped into my mind is that I have no more warranty!!!!! Popped the hood open, and I see a crispy ground chassis wire. GREAT!!!!! Onto picture, sorry camera phone quality.... I guess I can say the amp to blame for that huh? Swapped that out for 0/1gauge wire. Now everything is up and running again. Sigh...what an evening

I would say low 140s. I just want to be able to wang it when needed, and when to shut some punk kid up!
-
I was thinking.... Right now I have a 15" BL with an RF T10001BD amp, its loud, very loud. I want a more sensible setup but attempt to keep the same sub output, I don't think its possible. I want small box, small amp, and still be able to do 140s. I know thats not possible. I just want to reclaim my trunk space back and my spare tire and jack!!! With that huge box in my tC there is no more trunk space!!!! Now I am getting kinda tired of hauling around a 100lbs box... Ok I'm done ranting....you may return to your regularly schedule program.
-
Which main ground wire are you talking about???
-
You see every connection was solid. That ground wire is OEM, never touched by me! Everything was fine with this setup for the past 2+ years. Also considering that the chassis ground cable is 8 gauge, and trying to support every electrical features in the car, and it just got overloaded. I don't think that there could be a short or else one of the main fuses would have popped.
-
the power wire does have a fuse 12" away from the bat. So yeah I dont know how a ground wire burned up. But considering it is the chassis ground, who knew?? No fuses blew... And what do you mean if my system was setup right? This system is the same system that is in my car ever since oct 04, only things that changed was the subs, throughout the years. If something would have happen something should of many years ago. I believe it was just a freak of nature thats all!
-
ya guys are mean! LOLOLOL
-
you might be clipping it and making the power dirty. creating excessive heat. i could send my Q 1500w of clean power all day, or i could burn it up with 800w of dirty power in 5 minutes. set your gains and bass boosts properly and you wont have any problems. Gains are set properly, no bass boost, bass knob turned down to off, the built in parametric eq on the D3, all the low frequencies are below zero, sub out level on HU from -6 to +6 sitting at 0...so no dirty power here
-
I think its to much...I have that T10001BD on a 15" BL and sometime I can get the VC to smell a little bit.

This kid claimed to do 139.9db which I don't mind...he was running 2 12" MTX 5500 subs, with a kenwood amp. Next thing I noticed is that he had a sticker on his back glass that says "135db+ at the head rest". I was like why dont you meter it at the dash, he was like if I do that I will hit 145db, and when I do the db comp I dont burp because it would kill the competition. Thats what he told me.... Those subs was in a pre-fab box probably 1cuft per sub ported.... Then I let my system wang for a little bit, lets say the people on the other side of the parking lot managed their way over to my car to see what that noise was or where it was coming from. They thought it was the funnest thing that I had my styrofoam plate with hotdog on top of the car and it was flopping all over the place. Once again, people was impressed by a company that they never heard of... And this one guy felt this small *two fingers close together", he was like just wait til I get 4 10" in my car...! haha That was my day in a life of Fi... Oh yeah what would yield higher dbs? head rest or dash?

hahah I went to a local car show today of scions...

140.5 at the dash with a sine wave car off and on stock electrical. Maybe 141 or 142 with a burp and an upgraded battery. -
I have a 15" BL powered by a RF T10001BD amp, so go with the BL, the birthsheet on the T10001BD should be roughly 1500watts at 1ohm, the Q I dont think would be able to handle that daily. But besides that I am satisfied with my BL!
-
it's the hc 600. eh abunai, i wanna hear your setup. must be nuts sounding. Whoa bro never even noticed your in HI Yeah sure no problem where you at we can get together I can slam it for you... then you can let everyone know the type of hurt the 2 SSD 12's can put on a tC lol I gotta take vids of the stupid stereo demolishing my tC.... anyways yeah let me know i'll meet up with ya and we can let each other take a listen If you was on the east coast I would show you what 1 15" BL will do to a tC. hahaha

Amp? Power? Box size? Metered with TL legal on dash? I did that song at the last bass race comp and ended up with 135.5db. This is with a 15"BL, RF T10001BD amp, and a 3.5cuft tuned to 33Hz.
-
what song was you playing to get 139.9 with music? Thats a pretty good score for bass race! I hit 140.5db with the car off with my one 15" BL.
