Yea mines the v.1 but will still get the job done. You don't need the v.3 of the 1500 to make that xcon pound. The v.2 is still a great amp. I would snatch one up if I were you.

Need help on port lengths for dual sub box
EPerez replied to ImaSlacker's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Yea just use two .75" pieces of mdf for the double baffle. I accidently put in wrong numbers for the first time but I edited my last post and everything is correct now. -
Need help on port lengths for dual sub box
EPerez replied to ImaSlacker's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
EDITED! I would do the double baffle 1.5" because of each baffle being .75". Port dimesions: 15h x4w 60in2 of port area ***Port length is 33" Box ends up being 3.75 cubes tuned to 32.5hz. That's the best I can get it to what you want with having enough port area. If you can add on to any dimesions it would help lower tuning and gain more volume. -

So you have a 1/2 inch baffle to go on to the 3/4 inch front? I would just put a 3/4 inch baffle on the front to make it 1.5 inch -
I got my 2500 for 525 shipped! It's a really good deal lol

I'm not sure it's possible to tell from just looking at that. What's your dimesions, subs, and tuning frequency? I can get you the port length if you give me that info. -
A used sundown 1500 would work great with the xcon. It's a quality amp. Check out the db-r.com I bought my saz2500 from them. You should be able to get a 1500 for around 350. They're refurbished, but everything works fine and comes with a 1 year warranty.

You can tell by looking at the motor. If it's double stacked, then it's a bl. The q and ssd have single stack. The btl has a crazy lookin motor lol you would know if it was a btl. -

Need help deciding subwoofer size for sundown subs.
EPerez replied to EPerez's topic in Sundown Audio
Yea your right lol ill have a mod move it. -
Some of you may know that I was going to get Sundown X 12s and then decided to get 2 10s because I couldn't fit 2 12s properly since they require a much bigger box and I'm kinda limited on room. I decided to have subs/port facing rear and have my battery and amps up closer to the front and build an amp rack there. I have a box design for the 10s here it is: Sundown recommends a much larger box (1.5-2.0 cubes per 10) to utilize the new surround and suspension. It will get much more excursion then. Also minimum required port area for these 2 10s is 75in2. Well I've been thinking since I have a height of 17 and a width of 34 I could fit 2 15s on the face. However, the box would be sealed. With those dimesions I can have a sealed box around 5.75 - 6 ft3. I'm not sure how big the X 15s need for a sealed box though; I'm calling sundown to ask tomorrow. I doubt it's more than 3 cubes. Now I'm pretty sure that the 15s would get louder due to the big increase in cone area. I'm just not sure if they would get as low. I love the lows and have not had a sealed box since my first setup 2 years ago when it was 2 orion cobalt 12 in a very small sealed box. I'm not sure how sealed boxes actually play and where they peak since there's no port, but I like to listen to low songs like on my level, white girl, and no hands. Songs that have low bass like that. I'm really not concerned with the loudness as I know the 10s would be plenty loud. I'm more concerned with the 15s being in a sealed box and not being able to play lows as well as the 10s in the ported box will. Can someone tell me how well sealed boxes play low? I know bigger the sealed box, the lower it will play? Wait, right? haha Thanks in advance.

On one of the thread Jacob made about either the z v.4 or the x series, he did a test of the 15 and said he wanted to try one of them in a sealed box. I don't know if there's a big difference between the subs. Ill have to look for that thread. -
Bigjon, you should just ignore him. This douche is probably gettin off on all this.
-
I remember his stupid build with multiple boxes lol can this guy get banned??? He's proven to post stupid posts and rarely helps out here.
-
Wow this is ridiculous..
-
I would probably do 2 sa 10s or 2 sa 12s if you raise the seat.
-
Do you know how many cubic feet it is?
-
Yea it would make it a lot easier to move the box in and out then. The only times I've cut things were for boxes and everytime it's been mdf. I can't compare to other types of wood, but I'm sure it's much easier to cut baltic birch than mdf lol The reason i'm going for it is, because it will be lighter and that's what I need.
-
How come you wanted to use birch instead of mdf? I see a lot of people use birch instead of mdf is because it's lighter. Is it stronger too? I was thinking about using baltic birch for my box for the X 10s when i get them. I found a lumber yard that can order it in for me for around $75. That way it will help with the weight. For you I don't see a weight problem. Just curious on why you choose baltic birch.
