ICON 12" Giveaway! Don't miss out.
EPerez replied to Mark LaFountain's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
Awesome you guys are great. Did it! -
How much space and power do you have? I'm assuming somewhere around 3k since you were talking about an s m d. I would do more cone area if you have the room.
-
The Xcon is suppose to be great in a sealed box.
-
Well what's your goal? What do you want to get out of the system you purchase. Also what's the available space you have? Can't recommend anything without knowing the amount of space you have to work with. In what vehicle? Some great brands I've had excellent customer service and products from are SSA, Sundown, and Crescendo.

OMG!!! It's almost done and looks amazing!!!! It looks perfect Alton great job. You definitely have skills!

If they blew or anything happened like that and they were already working im sure they wouldn't cover it in the warranty. They would consider it user error.
-
I would probably go with an Evil since all the reviews say how musical and nice sounding they are. Ohh and they'll get loud lol

SP4 box for back seat. am i designing this right?
EPerez replied to ncc74656's topic in Fi Technical
I based mine off of yours Overall - 27h x 37w x 25d Port - 4.25h x 35.5w x 36L I came up with 7.75 cubes tuned to 33hz with 151in2 of port area. Honestly that is great! I'm not sure how you don't think you can get your tuning under 40 hz. I was able to get it easily down to 29hz. -
For my first box my 12 was in 2.7 cube box tuned to 32 with around 35 in2 of port area. Now I'm building (as I type lol) a box that's 3.4 cubes tuned to 31.5hz with 68in2 of port area. The first box could hit around 27 hz decently. If you want to hit those lows I would just recommend tuning really low like 24 hz or so. Just make you set the ssf right. Like a few hz below is usually the easiest. Fuck finding out decibels out haha I know it's loud when people can't breathe. That's what I like, not numbers Thanks I love this fusion! I actually have different led lights in it that are under the dash and under seats. I want the 13 it looks so sickkk!!

EPerez replied to ncc74656's topic in Fi Technical
The reason why your bl was not hitting the lows was because the box it was in was tuned to 44hz. Most people don't tune that high. Hitting the lows like you want, you should tune to around 33 hz. I say that because then you will still be able to hit the highs quite well. I really don't think your last box builder knew what he was doing. I wouldn't worry on the size of the box as much as getting in the right port area! That's more important and we really haven't talked much about that. If you want to talk you can txt or call me if you like. 810-986-0992. -
Wish I had an suv to put these in! Lol good luck man.

ofc and cca wire
EPerez replied to dragon123443's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Go with weldingsupply.com wire. It's cheaper and it's OFC. OFC is oxygen free copper and CCA is copper clad aluminum. OFC allows more current to go through. -
Right away the Xcon comes to mind for what you want. My Zcon sounds amazing and the Xcon is suppose to be even better. You won't have to worry about blowing anything if you have the gain set right and the box design is good. What size sub are you looking at? You can only get a 12" with those dimensions and that's with okay port area. Also the lows will be more determined with the box rather the sub.
-
Wow does that box look amazing. Nice work on it! Do you have pics of the subs? I never saw any in your preorder thread. Only saw the motor and I haven't seen any other threads with pics.
-
Well one thing we need to know first is your budget lol

EPerez replied to EPerez's topic in For Sale/Wanted
I need to sell this! Come on guys!! -
Yea no problem. Post some pics when you get it built.
-
Looks good! You should flush mount the subs. Also try to have them as close to the left side as possible.
-
The subs will have just over 2 cubes each which is great and you have a lot of port area. You'll be happy with this box!
-
Port width can be 5" You will need add to the depth.

The sa series is more comparable to the gcon, but still the gcon gets my vote.
