Nobody can tell you which will be louder. Is this goin on the grand am? If so I would go with 2 12s for sure. How much power do you have? What's your electrical? How much space?

Best Advice is to ask Don at SDS, sound deadener showdown. Guy is a god with this kind of stuff. He will tell you what you need and only sell you what you need.

Changing anything like box, subs, amp, head unit, wires makes it a good idea to re adjust all the settings. Anytime I have something new or change in my car I always start from scratch and reset gain and maybe other adjustments like ssf. Sounds like user error. Don't expect it to be covered in the warranty, even if it a shops fault. And like the other guys said, the smd dd1 is a useless "tool". Bite the bullet and get a recone. Then be smart and follow our advice so this won't happen again. Sorry man.

What's the reason for switching? You probably won't hear a difference between the amps. Unless you just want somethin different.

I would say the 2500 is plenty of power to push it, but the sub CAN handle more if you are careful. You said 4th order? Is that porter or 4th order band pass? Also you know about all the electrical upgrades that the amount of power you plan to run needs right!?

If it's for daily. A 2500 on each is plenty. Have a well designed box and you will have a very nice sounding, loud system.

.5 will be fine. Just don't max it out. I can help you design something tomorrow when I get outta work around 4 or 5. Looking at my measurements I don't think you will have enough room for 2 ported unless aero port. Are you just looking to get louder with your one 12? I would build a bigger box with more port area for your 1 Xcon now and see how that is instead of buying a lot more stuff. I feel your system has the potential to be louder with a better box design.

If he is looking at a 10 then thats way too much. You must be talking about a 15. You're right lee. Idk why I was thinking he was saying a 15. 1.25-2 cubes for 10". I got this info from sundown when I called a while back.

3-4.5 cubes ported I know that. These subs should work better in ported than sealed if irrc. I would go as much as 5 if ur on lower power.

Wow so they are butt holes because they don't post T/S specs for reasons but they will email you them if you ask. Recently they been busy with World Finals, releasing a whole new lineup, etc. I just got T/S specs for subs from them through email, with no issues. Why are you twisting what I'm saying?? I said they would be if they didn't give me any t/s specs if I called and asked. "Yeah, they like to hide the T/S. They'll give you enclosure recommendations all day long, but never the T/S" quote from chILL post # 15 ^supposedly they never give out T/S specs. So if I called and they didn't want to give them out, then yea buttholes lol I have no problem calling and I didn't know if they actually would since I never needed to call IA for t/s specs. Do you understand why I said that now?

I haven't seen them yet. Been eagerly awaiting the new Death Penalty specs myself. And photos of the new Flatlyne...I know with the older model IA subs you had to call to get parameters and box recommendations.
