Component wiring with 2 Channel Amp
EPerez replied to EPerez's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The passive crossover that comes with the comps will high pass the tweeters and low pass the mids. You usually use your head unit or amp to high pass the mids so they don't play frequencies below ~80 hertz. (depends on the mid) Ok, then I should use the hipass filter. I just wasn't sure if the crossover box would do that for the midbass. Yes, components can't handle really low notes, that's why you have subs. I kept my factory HU but wasn't happy with the passive Line Out Converter (LOC) and bought an active one for about $100 and am very happy with it. I mostly understand what is passive and active when it comes too speakers, but not sure with that LOC. What is the difference and how do you use it? -
Component wiring with 2 Channel Amp

Yea, so what exactly does that crossover box do when you have the components hooked up to it? Does it make it so the midbass speaker only receives certain frequencies and the tweeter receive certain frequencies? -
Component wiring with 2 Channel Amp

So put hipass on the amp's cross over module and then wire up the components normally with that crossover box? -
To find the port area, all you need to do is find the area of the opening of the port. Height times width.

I suggest having someone on here design a bigger box. You are on the small side of what SSA recommends. It'd be way cheaper to make a box than to buy high powered amps.
-
What are you box specs? Making a more efficient box is better than adding more power.

Anybody know when the pre-sale ends?

Don't go by videos. They're very misleading. Jus because it's tearin the shit out of the car could mean the cars just flex very easily. Hell my trailblazer with my 21" warden didnt flex all that much. My friends focus flexed more with some p3s. Some cars are just easier to flex.

Newbie Needs Help With Sun Choice In XB

Pro-Rabbit on here designs and builds boxes. Great prices too. He's the owner of DC Creations. I'm going to have him design me a box for my subs. -

I'd suggest 2 15" SSA Icons with that amp and space. Then, use the money left over from your budget too buy a nice second battery for the trunk as you will need one for that amp. -
Well, if what they say about 21 business days is accurate then it would be later. From the 27th of nov it is only 17 days till the 20th of dec. Then its the weekend and holiday beginning of the next week. I'm not saying it won't come out then, just don't be suprised if it doesn't.
-
I ordered it on November 26th and nope not shipped yet. If you ordered from store you should of saw that it takes 21 BUSINESS days to build. That's not weekends or holidays. The reason it takes so long is they build it once you order it. They're not the company that just has them sitting on the shelf. These subs are hand crafted right here in the US. I wouldn't doubt that it's going to take a little longer due to having the black friday sale and having many people placing orders, including me. Also it's going to be christmas and new years, so obviously they wont be working those days. I would expect it done by early Jan.

Nice choice in sub haha I ordered my Zcon 12s late last month. I cant wait too get them.
-
Hey just to make your torres box calc a little more accurate, put in the subs' displacement (.17 x 2 = .34) and a double baffle too. Also, for the common port walls box, put 2 if the port is in the middle between the subs or 3 if the port is on the end of the box.

Then you will need an amp that does the power you need at 2 ohms or find 2 amps that can strap together.

With the ap1800 I've heard someone did like 1850 rms. I have no idea if that's true or not but suppose to make rated power with great electrical.
-
I've had the ap1800 one and it was okk. I like my crescendos so much better though!! http://www.vminnovations.com/Product_4093/Audiopipe-AP15001D-1500W-Mono-D-Amplifier.html 144 shipped!! they're also authorized dealers and it comes both warranty. I bought mine there and accidentally blew it up and with the warranty they sent me a brand new one no question s asked lol
