Not near Ontario but I get down there every now and again. If, I get that direction I will definatly try to get in touch. PM if you want to chat about it.

id probably get a 9.1, iirc, when benched, it put out a little over 1400 at 1 ohm http://www.edesignaudio.com/product_info.p...f7cd81d65bd99f5 solid amp with a 5 year warranty i will never buy or recommend US AMPS, bums imo. there was a vid floating around online that i saw, that showed their VP saying how they push like 18v specs for their XT amps, not 12.5-14.4v specs. the vid soon disappeared bums........ Why not look into Sundown? they do a true rated power at 12.5 volts and offer a two year warranty to boot. And. they are on the forums to boot.
-
great numbers fellas! glad to see Sundown opening a can of whoop ass! I know Sundown is at home all day long with SPL events but, Jake wanna talk about a SQ car?

Drivers are 2-10" Image Dynamics IDQ's of of the 1500D @ 2 ohms and the 100.4 is running a set of Zapco Reference (red) 6.5" components fully active. I built the truck to show what can be done with a small (in my eyes) investment. I have roughly 100ft^3 of deadening is all. It is installed in a 2007 Toyota Tacoma, and if you have ever tried working on one it is a major pain in the butt because of space limitations. Let's put it this way, my subs only have .48ft^2 each due to limitations but sound awesome! The amps them selves take up as much room as my subs and the amps for what they are, aren't all that big. Compared to my Zeds? Um, I will only say I am definatley impressed and have NOTHING to complain about. Truly transparent amps that do what they are intended to do without any added "color" I think is the way to put it. If you are int he area come and take a listen, opf course it is no competition quality car but I think for 99% of people it is MORE than they would need in their every day vehicle.
-
Run them at fill power. I run a set of Zapco Reference 6.5" comps off of a 100.4 BRIDGED (320-350wrms each) and have 0 issues. You just need to be aware of what your hearing. I almost always run double or triple to my drivers. You cannot beat the headroom.

I will for sure, and yes it is the same shop. I do have a Toyota Tacoma that I have a small install in.....been thinking of doing a SQ truck with lesser known gear, just to be different. Something like Sundown, *cough* subs, and I am not sure on the front stage. It will be no where near as heavlity done as the Chryselr though, the Chrysler will have 3000wrms of all C2K Zapco power and 2 DSP6's for processing which is so overkill for SQ but if you can, just as well do it right.

Fi is shown in another featured vehicle in the latest issue of Car Audio and Electronics! This time in a SQ car. Yes its mine
-
Hate to say it but right now the car looks like this. http://s174.photobucket.com/albums/w84/atsaubrey/ Whole new system going in, and unfortunatley no Fi in the new build. The mag got it all started and now I am sponsored by several companies, including speakers. I am seriously stepping up the quality of install and getting serious on the sonics. No doubt the Q would fit the bill nicely though, but with sponsorship comes products. Fi helped me get to where I am today and it has been a great run, no doubt our relationship won't be over.

I need contact info for these guys, thinking about becoming a dealer. I didnt see any info on the website. thanks [email protected]

I have a "show" Chrysler 300. I went with 2 12" Q sealed. Look for it in a upcoming issue of Car Audio and Electronics.

I just recieved my copy of the june issue and by god they reviewed the Gladius. Reviewer stated it is in the top 5 amps for sound quality he has ever tested. Congrats Stephen! Heck and this is the first time I have ever visited this forum too, but it looks like it is time to install my Gladius and two Miniliths and start my second SQ vehicle! Actually Anyone wanna trade a mint Minilith hand signed by Stephen for a Duece plus cash?

What would it be @30hz & down? I was going to answer that but I will shut up.

Interestingly, Eric Holdaway still to this day runs Scott's drivers in his personal vehicle. Actually when he does reviews of subwoofers and refers to "reference" drivers he is refering to some of Scott's older drivers.
-
Well I hate to announce it before it happens but since Scott's private message box is full....here is what I sent you. Been awhile since we chatted. I FINALLY got a call from the photographer today to set up the photoshoot for Car Audio and Electronics. We will be doing it this month between the 17th-19th. He will call me tomorrow for the actual time and date and location! I will keep you posted. Yes fellas you WILL be seeing Fi in a featured car, but then again with my chitty luck I will be in the "Choices" section.

Helpful to Fi.....Scott we need to talk my brother. just joshing

I vote 1/2ohm install. As far as caps go everyone has their own opinion, I love my Alumapro Cap 15 and wouldn't run without it but then again I also upgraded the electrical as well. Wire the sub in series my friend, if you don't know how find out how asap.

Crap i live 5 hours from Vegas and still have not got my shirt
-
Zed Audio Minilith. I know I will get flamed for it only being 600 wrms but you do not need to send any driver its max rating. $210 I believe and Zed is the some of the best amps made.
-
Actually I was the one who made the orignal post. Eric Holdaway tuned my car who happens to review speakers and subs for CA&E. He was pleased with the sound and when he asked what I was running (subs in trunk) he smiled and said" I need to call Scott, it has been awhile since I talked to him". When he asked what they were....well, thats a good sign. As for scores I scored 16 out of 20 points in IASCA SQ in my FIRST comp. Awesome drivers.
-
Well ok maybe not a review but lets say the reviewer of the mag liked them! Might see a Fi subbed car featured soon enough.
-
Indedd they are the same amps. If you can still get the Zed amps if they are available you can save some money. Quality? Nothing better period! (hell I run Zapco in a SQ car ....for now)
-
look like W6's to me
-
who all compete's with FI subs? what organization and burp or musi
atsaubrey replied to HawaiianBassHead's topic in General Fi
During my first show in IASCA SQ competition I hit 139.6....SQ I repeat. 2 12" Q's with a Zapco 9.0 in a sealed enclousure behind the seats of a Chrysler 300. Put me in second place in Bassrace until they figuered out I hadn't enterd for SPL -
1.36 cubic feet nets you 1.2 after sub dispalcement. sealed of course. As far as tuning a sealed enclousure, there is int a way to tune it per say, tuning it refers to porting the box. Go sealed and with that much power you will grin.
