So I get a tracking number when the sub is shipped out to me?

Sorry for making a post about this, it just seems to get answered alot faster than emails. I got a speedy 10 minute response the first day about sending my sub in, but once I sent it out, I never got another email reply. Some confirmation if you received my sub and if you can fix it/build me a new one would be appreciated. Thanks scott/nick/whoever. I got my 2 BL's a while ago, back in September. I just got around to getting my amps, so I take everything out of the box to hook it all up, and I noticed one of the cones is rock rock solid. Thats when I really started to worry, I hooked everything up running them at 1 ohm, and played a quick sweep to see if it would unlodge the coil. Nope, just a bad scratching noise, so I quickly turned off the head unit and unhooked everything. So now I am curious what to do. Does the warranty cover this defect? It really sucks that I haven't even been able to jam this sub and its already broken. I sent an email to scott, but I really dont know what he will do.

My system is going to be for daily driving , I have both my amps, both my subs, and my box is on the way. Ive heard alot of conflicting replies though about the amount of power im throwing to the BL's. They are RF1500's but the birth sheet rates them at about 1700, so pretty much each sub will get around that much if my electrical is good enough. My question is, will the loaded BL's be able to take this daily?

Im not trying to be rude, but you really must of misunderstood something. If when you said "I really should have had them built to handle more power", you meant the subs, then I did... I bought them fully loaded.

For the BL 15's it says 4 cubes max for each sub, so if I have 2 it would just be 8 cubes, no strings/formulas attatched? Also, the more cubes the better, correct? And lastly, I was thinking of tuning to about 33, anyone have some advice on this? Thanks

Thanks, but can you go into more detail when you say with sub displacement and port? For example, I was thinking hopefully the box I have made would be like 4x2x1. Would I have to make the box larger to make up for the displacement of the subs?

The rubber lip around the edge of sub is not aligned properly to the holes in the metal. I was just curious if it would damage the sub for me to peel the lip off and align it correctly. The only reason I would do this is so the people that install the sub dont slip up and just drill right through the metal instead of the holes designated. Thanks.

Thanks man, didnt know if it would cause some kind of problems when they are installed to the box and would let air through/etc.

Im looking around locally for a place to build a box for 2 15's. Ive heard of a place called precision audio but I'm not too sure if they use quality material/planning/preparation/etc. All I know is they charge about 250-300 for a box. Does this sound reasonable to you? I know there are a whole bunch of variables but judging from your past purchases and stuff, let me know, thanks.

All right thanks. Never heard of any box prices before so I expect it to be quality. They built a box for my friends 12's and it slams. So for the most part, I just tell them what I want it tuned to and how many cubes and they do it to my specifications? Never had a box built for me before.

Anyone know the weight of a fully loaded BL 15?

Yeah I'm excited. Sadly this is my first big build so you might be hearing from me a bit more for some help.

I've made a couple of these threads but I recently picked up 2 Rockford T1500's for a steal. Now I'm definately close to purchasing 2 15 BL's and just curious what the experts have to say on this. I'm thinking since they are RF's they are going to be rated a bit higher rms, so how will that go along with the BL's? Also, what reccomendations do you have when it comes to wiring these? It says they arent bridgable, but can I still make this work? Pretty clueless when it comes to amps/wiring and all that. Thanks for all your help guys.

Thanks again guys that pretty much sums it all up. One last question thats pretty much unanswerable because it depends on alot of things, but do you think 1500 to each sub is decent enough so they slam? I know alot depends on the box, etc, but just out of curiousity. Again, I really do appreciate the help over here at these forums, really blows everything else out of the water.

Sorry if I wasnt clear, I have not purchased the subs yet, want to make sure exactly what to get and whats compatible and what not first. So I would chose DVC2 for the subs? Sorry again, like I said Im gaining a majority of my knowledge off these forums. Thanks.

Im looking into buying 2 15''s from Fi, the BL or the BTL. The only problem is since BTL is regarded somewhat as a SPL sub, Im curious if sound quality is lost in the process. So my real question is, do the BTLs have decent sound quality (in a well built box of course) and also how do the BL's sound?

Ill look into that, thanks for the heads up. So does anyone have any expereince with the sq of BL 15's personally? I listen to rap and thats all so most the bass is low and long- not really demanding on the subs.

Let me know how that sounds man, Im new to all this chit, but I would want the subs in Dual 1 ohm right? So realistically each sub gets around 1000+ then? Oh just found out even the new smaller models are rated pretty high too (around 1700) so that means each sub would get around 1200 running at 1ohm since its dvc?

I heard rockford puts out a bit more rated, but Im not really sure thats the case on these smaller new models, so 1500 sounds about right for the BL's.
