No sound from subs, but amp is still on
bassfreak posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have a Sundown Audio SAE-1200 amp running 2 SA15s. I'm having a problem getting sound out of my subwoofers. At first I had a Pioneer 4100 DVD when this first started happening. The Subs would cut in and out, then finally stayed off but the amp stayed on. So i had my local shop check the voltage and they said no power was going through my rca's. So I had a different cd player and installed it. After I installed it everything was working fine again. Then today the subs started going in and out. Right before the subs went off, it sounded like the subs were crackling but still had sound going through them. So i turned down the radio and they stopped working after i tried turning the volume back up. I changed out rca cables and still nothing. The amp still has 12.5 volts or high from the power wire. -
On the box that I had built by the local shop they only put one terminal. So can i just put both positive wires together to the one terminal and the same for the negitive wires

I was wanting to know on the amps, if you have to use both speaker channels or can you just use one channel. I'm running my 2 dual 4 ohm subs, wired to 1 ohm.

Abuddy of mine works at a stereo shop in town and i always meter it before a comp to get the highest SPL and change it back for daily driving afterwards.

I'm going to to be running 2 SAX-1200 and that is what Sundown Audio suggested for me a box to do both daily and comps.

I looking for a box that i can use as a daily driver and for competitions. I would appreciate the help.
