Alright guys, this is going to be my first system. I need some input on what sub to get. I have an amp that my friend said is low budget but is decent. The audiopipe 1500 watt. Now I'm new and don't know a whole lot about systems and stuff so please bare with me I want the kind of loud that makes your nose and throat itch lol. I'm sure most of you know what I'm talking about. Now I just need some advice on what to get. Thanks guys

Well..turns out my friend is selling 2 Dcons for a nice little price and last night I was set and stone on the one 15' Icon. So here I am today asking...which would be louder? Once again, bare with me as I'm kind of new to all of this. Thanks guys

Hey guys, I just bought my 2 Dcon 12s and I'm looking for a decent amp for my mids and highs. It'd be nice if it were right around $100. 1999 nissan Maxima GLE Ok Height - 15 1/2 inches width - 41 1/2 inches Depth- 39 inches Trunk opening width - 40 1/2 but getts bigger as it goes up as you can see in the picture.

Max height would be 18 1/2 inches. But the trunk opening is 47 inches wide up near the back window

My trunk is huge. About 54 inches wide and about 18 inches tall. Does that help? Trunk eh? Listing the trunk opening would help, that way we know what you can actually fit, unless you want to build inside the trunk. I have zero experience with trunks, and I don't know if putting a large enclosure in the trunk that fills up the majority of the space, would cause any problems for getting the output to the cabin VS having a smaller enclosure and more space around the enclosure. So normally I would have gone with the 2 15" dcons, but with a trunk, I'm not entirely sure what I would do. At this point hopefully others with experience with trunks can lend their advice. I'm guessing you already have an enclosure? Or set on a 12" for space reasons? Otherwise more cone area is a good way to increase output. If your current enclosure is an off the shelf one purchased from Best Buy, I suggest you invest some money into a custom enclosure, or build one yourself, as that will make the biggest difference. The Xcon does have a higher power rating then the Icon; however, that doesn't make it any less efficient, in fact it's slightly more efficient in comparison to the Icon series, according to modeling using WinISD. But the difference shouldn't be audible. I have an Icon and absolutely love it. I've also had a pair of xcons and loved them as well. I have a friend that builds them. And he would do it for me for a small price. Also, I'd bump up to a 15' I have a 99 maxima and the trunk is HUGE But thank you guys for your input! Now what about a headunit? Is there anything specific I need in a headunit?

I'm really leaning towards the 1 12' Icon. Are there any specific reasons I should go with the Xcon over the Icon?
