What do you guys think about sub(s) up about 3" under the rear dech and flared aero ports back or to the side for daily in a trunk (97' T-Bird) with a sh@t load of raamat?
-
when you had it in the trunk, how did u have it. The reason why Im asking is because I have a 97 T-bird which is basically the same trunk. I want either 2-15BLs or 1-18BTL but due to the short height of the trunk makes designs kinda difficult. This is a daily.
-
or do u think the btl 12s would be louder due to more power and I could fit them in there anyway? If i got the BTL12s then Id go with either 2- USAmps md3d's or a T40001bd. If I got the BL 15s then Id do a SAZ3000D or a MTX TE4001d.

I have a 97' Thunderbird that Im doing now. I wanted either a pair of Fi BTL12s or Fi BL15s. I want the BL15s because I would save a lil money on power and can be used in other areas such as the build, elec system, etc..... But the enclosure size needed is kinda on the large size for my trunk. But I can fit them in there if I angle the baffle and use 2-6" aero ports. My real question is I was reading on another forum that a guy with a mustang (which is basically the same trunk as mine) had success with his subs facing forward and his aeros on the side. He said that subs back/port side was the loudest on the meter but subs forward/port side was the loudest to ear. Has anybody had any experience with side porting or seen/heard vehicles with the side porting? the enclosure would be 8.4ft3.... after port displacement it would bring me down to around 7.9-8ft3 tuned to 32Hz (daily)

Trae ft. Young Joc "In The Hood" (choped and screwd) V.C ft Soulja Boy "Silly" Lil Scrappy/Lil Jon "Forever I Love Atlanta (FILA) For some serious lows try Outkast off the ATLiens album "E.T. Extraterestrial" I had a 2dr explorer with 2 orion HCCA 275g amps pushing 2-12" L7s and this song would make my roof and my rear door flex like a grocery bag.

CADENCE ZRS-8000D what do u know about em?
SKEEMASK replied to SKEEMASK's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
thanks for the info I'll probably end of with some US Merlins then. I was trying to make up my mind between the ZRS or the Merlin and Ive never once heard anything bad about the Merlin....so think U guys may have just pointed me in the right dirrection. -

CADENCE ZRS-8000D what do yall know about this particular amp past or present history. I know their old stuff was the sh@t but how are they so far as quality now? I see them for about 600 shipped and its strappable @ 2ohm plus its not a bad looking amp. Wanted to run 2 fully loaded btl12s in my Thunderbird tuned to 32hz. Wanna totally seal off the enclosure to the cabin as well. Trying to make a nice GP. -
BUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lol, thats like asking "what am I going to get more girls in? A toyota corolla or a 2008 Enzo?

Is this amp really just 2500 watts?
SKEEMASK replied to tankht56's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If ur power supply is up to par u can probably get around 2800rms. BUT!!!!!!!! At the same time u may wanna do a lil research on that particular model because Ive seen where alot of poeple have had problems with that one. I use to run 2 of the old 275G Orions and they were power gods and the old 2500D is hell too but this particular model seems to have problems. Not everyone but if I read 10 reviews on it about 6 or 7 of them had a problem with the signal. No going to go into depth with it but just research it. U may wanna try and find the old 2500D. -
@ the least I wouldnt do any less than 3.4ft3 and 60sq" of port AFTER sub and port displacement. and that is per sub.
-
See ur not even looking @ the whole picture. Basically if u were paying attention u would have seen the fact that a 1000watt rms Rockford amp pulls more current than a 1500watt rms Sundown amp. Meaning a u get more watts with less current draw with the Sundown. Like having a V12 engine that has 4cyl gas mileage.
-
Im pretty sure it will be getting around 2500rms...thats sweet. So Im assuming that pricing will be in between the 1500Dand the 3k? Why dont u guys do a daisy chain master/slave hook up instead of bridging just 2 together? Like the Rockford powers are. That way it would be more easier to setup more amps.

Is this too big of a "enclosure and port" for a daily. For 2 fully loaded BTL15 with a T4k ......11.1ft3 (net) with 160sq" of shared port tuned to 30hz....after sub and port displacement subtracted I got a total of 8.6ft3 which would be 4.3ft3 and 80sq" of port per sub. Is that too big?
-
30Hz for daily. So u think I should go smaller on the port? What about (140sq" shared) 70sq" each?
-
Chevy, If u went with the MM4000.1D u would be better to run both channels @1ohm or bridge it @2ohm. Just keep ur gains at a moderate level and they will be fine. Just throwing somemore options at u since u say money is an issue. U do know u can find 2-MM1400.1Ds on ebay for around $275 each shipped. Just get a Y splitter for ur RCAs which aint no more than a few bucks. That is a solid amp, Ive seen a bench test sheet performed by Carstereo magazine and they got 1750watts rms out of that lil ass amp....it wasnt the cleanest but it was fairly decent and for the price u cant beat it. Id get some high dollar comps and run em off that T5002. Id take it off ur hands for u but I dont know if I wanna run RF amps just yet. But trust me u can sell it, somebody will take it off ur hands. So far as juice, u do have a upgraded alt right? What size batteries are u running now? Id do a yellow top under the hood and 1 HC2400 in the trunk.

oh and about the filter. Ur port is tuned to 40Hz. RF PowerT amps have a subsonic filter set @28Hz automatically......so all together since ur box is tuned so high ....RF wouldnt be a good amp for u period in my opinion unless u build another box and tune it in the low30Hz range. U need a amp(s) with a filter that will go up to around 35Hz or somewhere in that ballpark. It may not seem like a big difference but when u are running below ur tuninf freq u are asking for trouble. I wouldnt set it no more than 5-6 Hz lower than ur tuning freq. It would work though I was jkust pointing out the big gap in between ur 28z set point and ur 40hz tuning freq. Steve Meade runs T amps and his SPL port (interchangable) is tuned pretty high but at the same time u have to realize he does ride around pumping his SPL port though he uses high lower tuned port for daily.

Sup, Chevybwoi. This is Cut Buddy from ECR. If u are talking about those BL15s in ur Monte then ur problem is not with the subs, settings, or electrical system.....its ur ohm load. No RF amp is capable of running @ 0.5ohm unless u are burping which u are not or u've sent it to Rockford to be modded for 0.5ohm load....then that would be the only way u could series a pair of dual 2ohm bubs to a RF amp for daily usage and not frying the amp. Ur best bet is to get another amp that does its power at 2ohm like the MM4000.1D u mentioned and parallel ur subs or get 2-1ohm amps and series 1 amp per sub. That T5002 is something Id run a few comp sets off of, defenitely not 2 BLs. We've had this conversation on the other site before but I had no idea that ur subs were dual 2ohm, if I had of known that then I would have let u know that then it wasnt a safe load for daily usage. I remember u saying how loud it was and how u couldnt breathe in ur Monte. Trust me those BLs are only laughing at u with both subs sharing 1-T5002. Id do at the least 1400rms....Ideally 1800rms would really be what u need. note:thats per sub

If I went with 2-BL15s in my trunk I could only fit them each in a 3.2ft3 after port/sub with 50sq" of port tuned to 32Hz. With either a SAZ-3000D or Autotek MM4000.1D pushing them. Do u guys think I would still have the lows even though its a small box? Daily GP
-
well since u say that enclosure would be too small for the 15s, thats the biggest I can possibly go. I could however do 3-12s in a bigger enclosure ;(each) in a 2.45ft3 after port and sub displacement with 40sq" of port tuned to 32Hz. I could probably do 3-BTLs (dual 2ohm) series them all together at a 1.3ohm load with rise and strap 2-SAZ3000Ds together.

Where on God's earth are u seeing brand new Maximus amps for 1600? Im curious to know now because the cheapest Ive seen it was around 2500. By no means am I calling u a liar but I find it hard to believe u can get a 10K watt Maximus for 1600 when the 5k watt Goliath goes for around a 1000-1300.
-
2500-3000RMS per sub is crazy loud for daily. Try those Colossus amps or for a cleaner sound go with T20001BD, ZX2500.1D or since he has the $2500 plus for a Maximus he can get 2 of the Sundown 3000Ds and that would really be his best bet and cheaper route without sacraficing quality. I believe the Sundowns would "sound better" than the Maximus even though he would be giving up a few 1000 watts. But the 3000D is pumping out around 3700+ rms @14.4v so thats not a b*tchass amp.
-
And like the other guy said, dont forget about the MM1400.1 which will give u a tad less wattage but Im positive the sound would be cleaner than the SS because its the highest model of amplifiers that autotek sells. NOTE: 1700rms of a cleaner sound will be louder than 2000watts of a less cleaner sound
-
The Autotek Super Sport line is A/B but this yr for 2007 they have added the SS1500.1D and 1900.1D which are the same Super Sport models but these 2 are classD and more efficient. There is a test done somewhere on the SS500.1D which did around 780rms and that was A/B so u can only imagine what its bigger classD brothers are pumping. But yes the SS1500.1D and SS1900.1D are the only 2 class amps from the Super Sport line.

Damn!!! Hungry moothafookas. Well would that offer be in my price range or more?
