ill chime in on this one.....i heard about some badass subs that had the brutality of an MT18 but more "streetable" (aka cooling, among other upgrades) so i figured id look a little closer into it. I liked what i was reading. I made the contact and Within 5 minutes of talking to Scott i had some on the way Havent looked back since.

i was already a member of the last one but from my understanding it crashed or something so i lost my account. Well the noob is back, jack. whattttuppp!

Put a couple vids up the last few days......i cant help it that everywhere i stop for longer then 5 minutes SOMEONE wants me to "bump that $h1t homie". I just oblige them thats all (but on film ) http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/index.php...3&Itemid=42 BTL's doin what they do best

I dont know what made me decide to tape a bottle of milk to my roof and mix up some chocolate milk, i just did it http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/videos/ch...temilkmaker.wmv Also here is the trash-bag trick vid that i couldnt get up on the site because old man daves been sleeping since before 8pm and unfortunately i dont know how to work my own site. This will do for now

If I am not mistaken he has 4 18" BTL's with roughly 16k watts worth of rockford amps. I might be wrong though. I know it is not walled! well your right and wrong........with my new amps its around 20,000 to the subs and 3300 on the mids/highs. It is not walled though, you got that part right . My old system is closer to the 16k you were thinkin of

if your reffering to the 150.8 in one of them old vids......that was at 27hz with a big box i was tryin out. It was loud but bass mechanic type music was all that sounded good in there. That same system with a different box that sounded more normal for everyday was doing 156.5 at the dash and 157.4 Usac on the floor. Now with the new BTL's and new RF amps, and a couple years later, im a little louder even doing a 158 at home on my TL. I dont compete much anymore i just show off and get vids these days. Its more fun for me then the lanes.

I figured this would be a good place to post up these pics.....started up a box for one of the members of my forum. Im about halfway thru so i figured id drop a few pics. Its still rough but i have a bunch of fiberglassing and 45in' the corners to do. Ill do the resin-self-level trick of course.

look what else he is getting to go with his new box Here it is boxed up and ready to ship......see ya later box, was nice knowin ya! found a huge piece of cardboad out in the shop (here at my work) and made a few marks, took it to our 1 million dollar press brake (for bending metal) and put a few nice creases in it to make it easier on me. Everyone was lookin at me crazy droppin cardboard into the brake but it all made sense once i started wrapping the box.

thanks a little black carpet to finish the job up. I think my pics would look better if i had the actual subs but allz i have is a basket to work with

you beat me to it. First thing that went thru my mind.....an opti1200 which wouldnt do 1200 if lightning struck it, on a BTL? Time for some real power bro

heres a little clip to show how nice the airflow is in the box......with a blower aimed in a speaker hole, no wind goes to the other chamber but it HOWLS out of the port.......the triangle thing really diverts the air into the port heres a dumb little clip to show airflow.... tomorrow i route everything including the port.......terminals will be installed as well. Stay tuned now its time for me to go pound back some Coronas

thanks guys heres todays work........fiberglass fever.

BAMA: Thats a nice clean setup you have there. I really like how clean your box is. Did you build that? If you did, nice job! Whoever did.....its real nice.......
-
thanks :) Time to reinforce the box with some good ol 29.2oz fiberglass and a few gallons of resin. If you want to know just how thick this is, compare it to the 3/4oz stuff i use for forming door pods and other stuff with. This is less for forming and more for structural purposes. This box will be literally bulletproof even this little thing will be solid as a rock, plus provide some strength to the box at the same time. I stuffed it full of glass and after that im going to pour it full of resin to the top and call it done.

cool.......ill just keep practicing till i get good at it with the cuts. Denim: not sure the exact depth but i want most of the way thru leaving just enough to hold itself together. I found that worked better then leaving more material there because the more you have to force it to bend the better chance it would snap. Theres people more expereinced then me at it and they may have a different answer then me. After breaking a couple pieces ill just do whatever works
-
thanks guys how does steam bending work? I understand the concept but whats all involved and what tools do you need?
-
oh ya i dont think i mentioned to that many people what the size is. It is 2.1 ft3 net on each side so 4.2 cubes tuned to 34hz
-
im not sure.....i just wanted this one to be different from the last one. I have to say im not that experienced in wood bending but im getting better each time. Nothing pisses you off more then making 20 cuts and then the board snapping in half on you while tryint to bend it. I think i got it now but ill need more practice

i got a 12" basket to make sure all is well without lugging 60-70lbs around a little elbow grease to knock off the rough edges left behind by the router

Tonites progress. My buddy Jeff took the pics and he was poundin beers with me so they are sorta "action" shots LOL. A little blurry on some but i was in motion, what can i say 8 passes per sub, 1/4" at a time to counter sink it. Depth was set at about 1/2". When i was at the point where the speaker hole itself was ready i just dropped it down and cut it out. Youll see. one cut, bump 1/4", another cut bumpe 1/4".........till its the way i planned.
