  1. 4ga Speaker wire.......probably overkill for mids and highs but it is a long run from the rear to the front and this amp takes 4ga wire on all the terminals so why not
  2. Now time to tap into the system with the nitrogen bottle. A 3 way T will do it. X marks the spot i need a hole big enough for 1 air line and 8 4ga wires to pass thru
  3. todays work.....i can finally almost say im done laying under the truck! CarPuter came in today!! Sick as hell! The 10.2" touchscreen monitor will be molded in the dash soon A little modification to the factory fittings... Nitrogen bottle time!
  4. thanks Heres a little vid i made tonite.. its not all that exciting but it shows a little of how the levelPro system works.....im so happy i finally got it dialed in! Tomorrow i put the Nitrogen bottle and regulator in and then im done with the air system!
  5. Starting to take shape now....all wires, just like the rest of the system, have been cut to length, soldered, and heatshrunk. This will end up being a fairly big cluster since i have 3 air control systems spliced together now.
  6. Got tired of running yellow wires "directly to the battery" and since i know there will be more when i get down to the stereo system, i figured i would put a nice "power point" in the cabin so i wont have to go thru the firewall again during this install (i think anyway) A few items i meticulously installed only to realize i didnt need it. It is a relay for the compressor, to turn it on at a healthy 135-150 psi (user selectable). Too bad im on a 200psi system and that part is already done. Oh well at least its there if someone ever wants to roll with the small dogs at 135 in the future LOL. This was the original wiring.....its sorta fugly so i re-did it. I have 3 seperate systems running in this truck so i have some serious splicing to do and i cant have it lookin like this First things first, identify each solenoid...its a task if you arent the original installer but i got it eventually I had to map out the wiring and make a record of it in case i ever need to tap in again....you can see the other 2 system wire colors next to the AirRide tech wires (which incidently were totally the wrong color too but i dealt with it ) These are the original flat wires for the little miniture caddy switch box. They have been all over the place for a while now but i layed em down flat and smooth and then Hushmatted over them to hold them in place. I left sections open so you can see the wires so somewhere down the line someone doesnt put a screw thru them or something.
  7. it was wiring MADNESS today... Again, everything cut to length, soldered, and heat shrunk. Then put back in the loom. All pressure sensors finally in Cant forget the tank pressure sensor.....
  8. A shot of the finished product......new plumbing, new wiring...... I almost called it quits for the night but i decided to raise it up and take the back wheels off. One thing led to another and i decided to get the plumbing done on the rear corners as well. Tomorrow i will wire up the rest and also the tank pressure sensor as well. Rear plumbing done, heres how she sits for the night
  9. Its in a critical area so i figured i would double ziptie it here. Also the wire for the driver side is ran beside these and it heads under the radiator and pops out right where it needs to be......then same thing, cut, solder, heat shrink, re-loom........done.
  10. All that raw wire that you saw was put back into the loom that i had left over when i cut the slack off. Its perfect legnth and it still looks factory
  11. Time to start wiring up the front "level" and pressure sensors. First thing i had to do was make sense of it all. i had to "un loom", cut and trim all these as well. I dont want a big "bow" ziptied under the car somewhere so its all cut to exact length. I soldered, heat shrunk and put it back in the loom...worked out great!
  12. Time for some plumbing.....a trip to Homedepot took care of the fittings. I had 4 of the T fittings on hand already so that worked great. This is where i add the pressure sensors to each bag. It will all make sense later. I also had to spend some qualty time in my chair teflon taping all these things.
  13. i made a short, dumb little clip of the lever doing what it does when the wheel raises or lowers. Nothing to write home about but if you dont understand what they do you might after you see the clip.
  14. It may LOOK like no big deal but it was a task and 1/2 to get it where it is.......now i can work in comfort! Its still outdoors but at least its all covered!
  15. i spent the day getting organized AGAIN I moved the Caddy under the covered area completely which is something i thought could never be done......but i got it!! Anyway in the past few days i got 2 of the ground level sensors in and that was a chore. Its not THAT complicated but it has to be perfect and it has "taken me a few trys" lets just say that heres the pics...
  16. forum was never down...... and i dont know why it says dont open, of course i opened it! :D
  17. its being built right now but check it out, i got everything from www.customcarputers.com rick the owner is a HELUVA guy so check it out! If u buy somethin tell him you saw it here first Ill have pics of the new setup when it gets here..
  18. thanks :D ok two things, i just bought a Alpine DVA-9965 to help with the front end duties along with the sick carputer system with 10.2" touchscreen monitor ill be molding into the dash... the other thing is the air ride stuff i ordered also came in Now if anyone thinks this job is taking too long dont forget this is all one person, the work keeps piling up but its still just one person doin it. Thats what i was thinkin when i seen all these wires, damn, more sh#t to do......why do i suggest to him that i do stuff like this when i know i gotta do the damn work here is the link to see the actual product and what it does... http://www.ridetech.com/productinfo/levelpro.asp when im done, if i can do it right, he should have 3 presets and when he gets in the car it will level itself perfectly for driving......also the other presets can be whereever he wants them. He will also be able to keep the gangsta' caddy switchbox (that he loves) and the remote controlled "airbox" joystick as well. So it will be automatic AND manual, whatever he feels that day..
  19. Well its all or nothin now hahah, let the carnage begin!
  20. Started the doors......design is subject to change (just in case something goes horribly wrong ) Its what im thinkin so far though....
  21. ok i have been takin it easy the last week and i also spent my saturday helping my brother with his alternator issues.......so today i made a little progress. As i said, fromt he 14th thru the 2nd i am off so i should be able to get much more done........
