Can anyone tell me if this sub is a SSD 15 or a Q 15
NB50 replied to PTbruiser's topic in Fi Products
X2 the backplate/pole vent looks like a Q. -
Blowing up my car with pure sound (2 years to go!!)
NB50 replied to SpeakerBoy's topic in General Audio
X2 I wish more people understood that. But sometimes you have to learn on your own, would have saved me some money but I like to learn things on my own sometimes. Or cramming to big of a box in the space they have not allowing the sound to develop. -
Is there a time line set to where I cant edit my posts after a while. I had pictures in a post of mine and reorganized my photo account breaking the links, then went to edit to reconnect the links but cant.

using nut and bolt
NB50 replied to philsteroni's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You will get a little resistance but nothing detrimental (you'll get resistance any time you break and make a connection, it may be small or big determining on how good the connection is). I use some brass bolts with wing nuts and ring terminals and have not noticed any ill effects. -
get that puppy fired up... i am anxious for a review.... i am looking at doing 2 of these 1 cuft ported at 28hz! Finally I can give a short review as I have had some time to let it break in and test it out on some different music. Overall I am very impressed with it. For only feeding it 250W it hits pretty hard. I have this in a extended cab truck and what I wanted out of it has been met. I don't need the neighbors to hear me from around the corner unless I want them too, and they have a few times when I let it loose. It seems to respond very well to fast alternative/rock bass notes and can get very low while listening to rap. I think that if I had it anywhere other than behind my seat, I would feed it at least 350W and probably run 2 of them, as you mentioned you were thinking of doing. I say give it hell, and go for 2, I dont think you will be disappointed. Weird the AA site says the cutout is 7.5". Did you use that design? If so glad you liked it.

1. Until the 18th! 2. You bet - DP 15, DP 12, DR 12, LI 15, etc Im retarded I just reread the post and saw that. Im glad for the different options too. Ill talk to a buddy at work tomorrow and tell him to sign up. Thats what I was thinking.

This is a nice idea, but I have a few questions. 1. How long are you going to run it? 2. If the winner cant use an 18 can they choose item(s) of equal or lesser value?

Pioneer 880prs vs. 800prs
NB50 replied to Smondo17's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have not had that problem with mine. Ive had it for about 2 years too. Im confused by this. Have you not read the thread?? They are pretty much the same unit, if anything the 800 might have a slight edge for the copper chassis to eliminate what little noise the regular chassis wont. -
Pioneer 880prs vs. 800prs
NB50 replied to Smondo17's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Hehe, . The tricky thing is its a pioneer = add on boxes galore and I dont think they are going to update (reprint manuals) every spot of information for outdated headunits (880) and new ones. The usb for the 800 is a add on box that im fairly positive will work with the 880 as well. The manual for the adapter even states the 880 as a head unit group 2 for controllability but no mention of the 800 anywhere?? The only difference between the units that you can seen would be copper chassis and different face plate. I suppose they could have updated some firmware but i think thats unlikely. manual for USB adapter http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pio/pe/i...sManual1129.pdf -
Pioneer 880prs vs. 800prs
NB50 replied to Smondo17's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Actually no. The 880 has 24bit Burr-brown D/A's The USB support is the same, you have to by the same adapter. Bluetooth support is the same, you have to by the same adapter. The only difference Ive seen is the copper chassis and a different faceplate. Thanks for the replies. I guess I was kinda hoping for a diamond in the ruff so to speak. Ive gone through so many scenarios for sub decisions from ICONS to Mags and Qs and Havocs and on and on. Right now I'm toying with the idea of sundowns new 8s or Mags or Icons have been the most prevalent in the thoughts. Ill just state that I hate choosing drivers.

I was browsing the local car audio store when I saw one of these with a neo magnet. I looking for any info anybody has on this. I know they are similar to a TC3000, but thats about it. Dual 4 ohm FS 39hz QTS .643 Vas .832cuft Xmax 25mm SPL 85db 1w/1m 1000w rms $500 from the store. I looking for basically how they sound, what kind of driver they are, and if you think they are worth that kind of cash. Help is appreciated. Thank you

Was the car running when this message came up? Im thinking the HUD has a power saving feature in it where if the car isnt running it will go into a power saving mode after so long. Either that or RTFM.
-
Thank you for the info. I did a little research after I posted and saw a company that had top assemblies and neos and it came out to about 500. I guess a better question would be is if this driver would fit my needs. I want a driver that is going to sound good first and foremost and coming in a distant second have some decent output. SQ to me would be blending well with the front stage which will consist of 1 MLI65 in each door and a tweeter on each side to be determined. Output is probably going to be more then enough with any enclosure.

yup that was me I know, you posted while I was gathering all the info up. On a side note thank you for testing the company and the sonix code. Weird thing is, I was looking at that amp kit at mobilesoundworks a couple days before you posted that thread. I havent bought any yet though (waiting for some money to come in first).
-
I dont know if I would call the dealer shady. There was a thread about someone buying a amp kit from them and they were satisfied with the service. I dont think they are an authorized dealer though. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=16827 BBB info on mobilesoundworks http://www.labbb.org/BBBWeb/Forms/Business...anyID=100021340 I just checked woofersetc and they are 299 ( http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseac...Product_ID=4914 ). They claim to be an authorized dealer and it also say to email them for best pricing. BBB info on woofersetc http://www.labbb.org/BBBWeb/Forms/Business...panyID=13163480 Hope this helps some.

What's the name of the company/guy who made those transmission box
NB50 replied to oldschool4life's topic in General Audio
I was trying to think of them and that went completely over my head. For others that may have missed it also TCAB. This was my first thought. Their dual CMP8 design looked interesting. you mean this one http://www.nolteaudio.com/catalog/product_...3g8nsij3t658kc3 I was interested in some of the claims and hype, but I more of the kind of person that likes to try and design and build myself. I was looking for a snailshell design for a while ago but gave up. -
