I dont get so much as bored with output, I want to experience what other drivers sound like though.

I went out and pulled the head unit and it went away tried moving some wires but it never came back. I did, however, put the new fuse holder on top of the unit so it doesn't get pinched behind it. Looked like it was getting pinched when I took the unit out, and could have caused the problem. So as of right now I have no noise using the following equipment Pioneer 880 POS Pioneer 4 channel powering the mids and highs. sundown prototype sub amp. I will try and hook up the USAcoustics later to see if the original noise comes back.

The holder I just put on or the one that is originally on the harness? I had the light hiss before I even did this "fix" and it wasn't the pico fuse cause I checked it to be fine.

Happy Birthday.

Yes, very good. The noise I have now is a slightly different pitch then before but that could be just from a different orientation of the wires behind the unit (I hope). But if I press the unit in a bit and hold it, it all goes away. Doesn't matter where I press the face plate or edge it goes poof like it wasn't ever there. I'm going to pull it out and see if I can track it down hopefully tomorrow if I got time.

Got it back in and working again but I am back to having a little hiss not big like before, I can hear music now. BUT I may have found the culprit of the little hiss. It is somewhere behind the head unit cause when I pressed on it and held it, the hiss went away. Got to tackle that another day though.

What exactly is the "big three"
NB50 replied to CrownVic's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Yep that is what it is. Its kinda of expensive though, couldn't imagine it offers much more protection then the pvc coating on the wire doesn't already offer. Maybe a little extra cut protection and aesthetics but that's it. -

Thanks, that is just like a mesh wire loom, that is the way the kicker 1/0 amp kits come. It has it on like the first five feet of the wire. -

Thread on it. -
I believe they are refering to the Honda CRX, it is a car that was really easy to get loud, it was almost like cheating.

I've been having a little hiss problem and was trying to track it down the other day. When I slipped up and made it worse, figured out I blew the pico fuse in the pioneer so I had to fix it. Here is my attempt at a fix for it. Still need to go out and put it in to test it out but it measures out to be ok. Ok pictures. The culprit, right below the exclamation point!. The fix, soldered the ground pins to a wire and the other side to a ground point. Wires fed out the back of the unit. And wires soldered to a fuse holder.

I dont belive it is aaron. Actually it will work. link to specs. http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.asp?item_id=107995 If you bridge the four channels you can run it at 200X2 into 4ohms. So you would hook up one coils to each bridged channel. -
For your application I'd use the SAE. If you were planning on upgrading I'd say to use something else but your not.

Depends on the box.

You need to give them a zip code so they can give you an estimate for shipping .

I used tutorial from ROE but I don't think it is up there still. But I know one is floating around here that will help.

Wear your pumpkin chunkin shirt while giving the presentation.

You need to cut damn near all the way through the MDF to get it to bend without breaking. The best way is to test on scraps to set the blade height. As for how many cuts to make that depends on how much flare you want. There is a semi tutorial somewhere on here of someone doing a full circle, gives you the math he used and you can then cut it down and figure what you need. Here is one that I did awhile ago maybe you can see that you need to almost cut all the way through the wood.

Voltage drops after power leaves the amplifier
NB50 replied to theMessenjah44's topic in Advanced Discussion
Yeah the current is flowing the wrong way. -
Well yeah read, I still am reading even if I may know the answer there always could be something in there that I don't know or need a refresher on. When I started I did a form of the pencil and paper method in which I entered all the formulas in excel and kept tweaking it and still am.

They give you suggestions on different enclosure types but I'm not sure on how much faith id put in them. Download WInISD just to play around with it(its free), just be aware that the response will not look like that in a car.
