I think it was time for an upgrade, upon taking out the old mobo I saw this. It seemed to be running ok when I took the board out but now that I know about those caps, they will be replaced before I use the board again.

Loving the 64 bit? Yes I am. I wish my other hard drive didn't crash, I had a lot of stuff on it. Right now I'm slowly pluging in other drives as I think I may have backed some of the stuff on other drives.

Got the computer up and running, threw on Ubuntu 64bit and . It is pretty snappy. Would like to throw some version of winblows on it but I don't have a copy.

Got the mobo stand offs for free. I love small computer stores.
-
Got my comp stuff. Start to install the mobo, I'm short 2 mobo standoffs. I know I have some somewhere, but no idea where. I hate going to the store and buying something I know I have. Why don't they include stuff like that anymore.

New computer parts are supposed to be here today and wouldn't you know it my sata drive might be gone. Just my luck. It isn't being recognized by the sata controller card i have in the current comp, hopefully it is the card and not the drive. Teach me to take the hard drive cage out to blow off dust.

The one with the virus ? Correct. Transferring files to my computer at work so I can reinstall windows and be done with it. Delete all .dll, .exe, .bat files. Anything that is "runnable" or "executable". I got infected once with win32 Vitro, reinstalled windows (luckily I saved everything) and forgot to delete some .exe's. Installed a program for school over the old infected install and got infected again because of the executable. Which forced another reinstall. Format then reinstall.

Should get the rest of my computer parts today.

Have you thought about putting blocks of wood in the box to take up the space.

lol, I would like to see an actual die size comparison though. I not about to pry off the heat spreader on the i5 to see though.

Got bored and took a pic. ~Ten years of technology difference. Left AMD Duron 1300 Right Intel Core i5 and a quarter for size reference.

Thanks I'll keep those in mind. Nice, I couldn't spring for the i7 right now, I think this will give me the performance I need though. My power supply isn't really bad it is however on the lower end of recommended requirements, it is an antec 500W. http://www.newegg.co...N82E16817103937 the system will consist of Core i5 Asus P7P55D EVO XFX RADEON HD5770 1GB CORSAIR XMS3 4GB DDR3

Well finally pulling the trigger and building a new computer. Picked up a Core i5 today at a local store for a great price and ordered the mobo, ram, and graphics card today. Only thing I'm worried about is my power supply might not be big enough/compatible. coming from a athlonXP it will be a huge improvement.

I've downloaded it before don't recall if I ever used it though. jay-cee what you don't realize is he is talking about the level the music is mastered at. Newer popular music is being mastered at a high level then before, which is crummy. It has nothing to do with how the song was ripped. Easiest way I can explain it is to have you read the wiki article on the loudness war. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loudness_war

Gotcha, kinda figured as much. Guess it goes back to taking up space.

//M5 IIRC you were looking for serial port for your computer. Well I was digging around today looking for a computer part and found a PCI serial card. I dont know if it works or not but it looks brand new, the only problem you might have with it is it has a low profile bracket on it. If you want it you can have it. Here is the website to it. http://www.sealevel....rial_Interface_ And a pic.

Both are good amps but the Rockford has a fixed subsonic filter while the Sundowns is variable. Having a variable subsonic would sway me toward the Sundown, it could save you from going through some speakers.

Not a big breakfast fan but could maybe do a side of bread pudding with vanilla sauce.

Affordable 2000w amp?
NB50 replied to Dutchie.'s topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
They only have one style of heat sink on the SAZ2000D's. That is the newer ones to the 1500s and 3000s, with the mirrored amp model and extra cooling fins. -
.5 sounds like way to much. Just looking at a similar sized sub the IA DP 18 is only .25.
