I think of it more like Hi Fi, without the Hi.

Don't look like BTLs to me. I've never seen an Fi speaker with a chrome top and bottom plate. Not to sure what the motor is from.

The port calculation is right. You could try a SI BM mkIII but I don't think they are out yet. -

SSA DCON 12S4 "SQL" Enclosure recommendations?
NB50 replied to THASQGOTME's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
Your enclosure volume is less then what you stated, and the port might not work. The way the enclosure and port is configured there will be more then likely dead space along the port on the top of the box that wont count in the box volume. The port also is ending right at the bend which might make it act funny. Not to mention you more then likely wont be able to mount the sub where you have it in the pic. -

Yes, 5+6 out & Flat out then set your LP and Subsonic normally.
-
Will you be plugging the RCAs into the 5+6 inputs or using the signal from the 1-4 inputs? Flat button out to use the on board crossovers. The Leviathan is able to do a three way active with just using the 1-4 inputs. That is why the switch is there, so you can use the 1-4 signal for the sub channel and it just uses the signal before any processing is done.
-
The flat button is there to bypass the LP filter, gives you a full range signal. The LP button next to it is there to select which input source you want to feed the 5+6 channels either 1-4 inputs or 5+6 inputs.

recone, does it matter if universal was selected?
NB50 replied to antonmiller's topic in Fi Products
The universal option is the D2 gap. So if you had a D2 you can go to a D1. If you had a D1 and didn't select the universal you can not go to the D2. The gap is optimized for the D1 coil and is to tight for the D2 coil. -

Thanks for your thoughts. I am intrerested in the Leviathan to replace my Alpine MRP-F600 and Rockford 400.a4. The Leviathan would give me alot of headroom and dynamics for my needs. I have read about the volume upon start up thing, what else sends the amp into protect? Do you use this amp for long periods of time? has it ever overheated? do you have it mounted flat or sideways? That is the only time I've have the protection problem was on start up. Not to big of a deal as you just turn the amp off for 6 seconds then turn it back on. Amp is mounted flat. I have never had a problem with over heating, my test usually is a 4 hour drive to my cabin up north which I listen to the stereo all the way up the whole time and I have never had a problem with the Leviathan.

I like the Icon, but I don't really like to compare it to the Flatlynes. Reason being is the whole entire setup is different Icon is up firing flatlynes were rear firing, 15" Vs 2 12" , etc etc.
