I could have sworn I felt something in MI, sitting in my car on lunch and it felt like someone was shaking the car. Didn't see anyone and the wind wasn't strong enough to shake the car.

That's what I thought. Looks more like a color you'd find on a bicycle.

Coils are already pretty dark on them, here is a pic of one of my twelves. It was never abused.

I got one in the trade in program thing and after dealing with him on that I wouldn't deal with him again. Problem is the VVX isn't a nice driver in my opinion. Doesn't sound that great and in my experiences takes to much power to get some output. I just threw it back in the car to give it one more chance in a 2ft^3 @ 33hz box, but just a quick test in the driveway didn't get my hopes up.

LMAO, he PMed you. I knew he was a skar nut huger, I just couldn't let the guy wanting to buy subs think they were as good as the ICON. Using both, the Skar has no place being offered to someone wanting the Icon.

SSA lists 4cf. but I'd think you could be ok with as little as 3cf. I didn't know you had these installed already. do you have a pic? How does 22" deep sound? 16x33x22. I haven't quite got the details down yet, but it should end up close to 4cf. Ok, I've got a final design. 15x33x22. net vol = 3.5 cf. 3.5x14.5 slot port. Port and subs facing back. you should get about 6db more out of this box at 40hz. (than your sealed box) That is like adding 2 more subs! Duane The port is only 14.5 inches long? Could be wrong, but I believe 14.5 is the height. Not if the height is 15", that would make the port height 13.5". I think I see what he did, the 14.5 is the second port length after the turn. If that is the case the box is tuned pretty low, I'd go for a bit higher tuning, more port area, and a double baffle.

Anything going to happen with this?

How so? average cone area for a ten is 310cm^2 * 2 = 620cm^2, average cone area for a fifteen is 810cm^2.

You can do that, my car had a piece of carpet that was in the trunk, so I just took that out and traced it on some wood. To save a little bit of weight I used some 1/2 inch ply wood instead of MDF.

Ah, it'll only leak when he's upside down. It will leak fumes no matter which way his car is, might even make the check engine light come on. OP make a false floor for the trunk of the car then you can screw stuff down to it, that is how I did mine.

Finally got around to building a ported box. Box will be ~2ft^3 tuned to about 33hz. Threw in a La Storm Neo just for the shot.

IA has told me before to use the LI enclosure specs for the flatlyne.
-
Do not use this box for 2 15" Q's. It is way to small, after port and sub displacement it will be 4.8ft^3 @ ~37hz.
-
funny u asked. i actually have one loading on youtube as we speak ( or type. depending on which way u look at it haha) i will post as soon as its done. should be 15 to 20 mins and itll be up lol awesome. my friend is looking into incriminator because he likes the brand but was worried its all sq. nice to hear that it isnt! IA was more known for their high output drivers, the Flatlyne is their entry into the "SQ" realm.

This. Although I don't know about the SA's but the Skars sounded like butt to me, no where near what my ICON sounds like. the skars where probably in a bad box. i have 2 skars and they sound pretty good to me and everyone else that heres them. there not a sq sub but they sound good in a good box. It wasn't in a bad box. The box it was in ended up having a QTC of .75, which it should have sounded beautiful in, but it didn't. I have used other drivers in a similar aligned box that have all had a better sound to them. I do not care for their sound and do not sound good to me at all.
-
Doesn't sound to bad, but I know the place you speak of and I'd be more worried abut the other stores in the complex with demoing and stuff.
-
While its a tremendously great driver, I'd be worried it isn't geared toward your goals. It will pretty much be on the complete opposite end of the spectrum from your HCCA.
-
See if you can tell which is which.

The 20th would be fine with me I guess. I will not be going to milan, not going to pay 15 bucks just to watch.

Soundstream Dtr Amp by SS or PA?
NB50 replied to orlando144's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
IIRC its a parent company that owns both power acoustik and soundstream. Anyway those amps came out after the company took over. -
I could be interested.

That would be a question for AA.
